Also, the 90s Arcade Racer hurts the most. That video with the additional detail is a must watch, I really would not be surprised to learn Nicalis changed the game so much that they added the drift counter and everything after taking it away from Pelikan13, the thing that's probably the most depressing, is if Nicalis did not get involved, we would actually have the game.
This was a very interesting watch. Speed Elixir is definitely a strange case. It had a very good base, but i feel like we won't get any information about it in the upcoming years. The whole '90s Super GP situation is very sad, as it looked very promising and it would've been nice to have an arcade racer like that nowadays, but oh well, shitty publisher. Very nice video Jake, 10/10.
I can vouch for '90s Super GP being playable at Anime Expo in 2019, I played it and it was *really* bad. Outside of the points listed at 6:38, the feel of driving didnt even match or remind me of the old sega classics it was based off of. I even remember asking if the person on the floor some questions and never getting a straight answer.
speed elixir sounds like a one man team kind of thing, which is understandable why its all so vague and unprofessional , racing games are extremely hard to make, I bet that dude is probably reworking some stuff from the ground up for like the 4th time or is just dealing with burnout ( the bad kind of burnout (no not mw2012)) I hope we see more of it tho, seems interesting.
I like how you used outrun music for the second game, yet named every other franchise except outrun when talking inspiration, despite the game literally looking like a rezed up version of Outrun C2C.
Not sure if anyone remembered this, but back in January 2015, there was a trailer for a street racing game called Street Tuning Evolution and some UA-camrs made videos about it. It sounds interesting, and there was a Indiegogo fundraiser for STE but unfortunately, it failed due to personal reasons (two months after the trailer came out on UA-cam). However, the game is now back in development on September 2018 but it's still a W.I.P. project (as of Aug. 12, 2022).
Nice content my man, I subbed, havent checked your channel yet but you better have some tokyo xtreme racer vids on there (very underrated race game imho), if ill find them ill sub twice 😂 Edit: would love to see a video on that cancelled open world racing game from genki 🤙🏽
XF Drive isn't vaporware. It says on the dudes website where you download it that it's a demo he did in his spare time. It literally says it's not his next project.
Originally I heard about it in discussions about vaporware, and didn't pay much attention to the other details of the game until I finished the video. It's a shame it's only a demo.
I love uploading this in 1440p twice on 1/mbps and forgetting to fix the end of the outro
Speed Elixir was an attempt to get funding. Aimed at investors, not at the players. It seems investors never came.
I’ve never heard of this, do you have any sources on that?
@@TheJakeMG his sources is that made it the fk up, jk jk
@@TheJakeMG Err, that's how it's done? It's the first time I've ever heard of Speed Elixir, but the story is immediately familliar to me.

Blur was insane and I would play forever if there was a Blur 2
Can't believe Power Drive 2000 was either abandoned or just sone plain ol' Kickstarter scam

God a Scud Race-like game released nowadays would have been an absolute dream, massive shame it never came out
Ah man, this is how i found out about drift stage 😢 so sad it will probably never come out

I'm still sad that 90's Super GP hasn't seen the light of day. It looked very promising.
Hearing about the state of 90s Super GT/90s Arcade Racer makes me want to stomp my foot over Nicalis.
Nfs rivals is still beautiful in 2022.....also extremely chaotic and batshit crazy
10/10 video. Super interesting
Woah, wait, what? What's going on with Drift Stage? I had found Drift Stage by Steam recommending it to me, what's going on with it?
What about Auto Club Revolution? that game was browser based (no downloads) looked pretty cool and never cmae out
Cmae
Anyone remembers World of Speed made by NFS World Devs? Lmao
@@kacperNFS Yeah, World of tanks for cars basically
iirc, there was a mobile port version of ACR

I don’t have any TXR videos on my channel, but I did edit a TXR Drift 2 video for DustinEden: ua-cam.com/video/VTDa64E88wM/v-deo.html
@@TheJakeMG cool! Im satisfied.. for now 😂
Would love to see your take on the txr games since you specialize in racing games, take care 🤙🏽
