I'm old enough to remember getting guitar hardshell cases with every guitar purchased.
Nearly 1500 dollars, it should have a hard case agreed 👍
Actually, the guitar is $859, around $820 after my code. It's been many years since guitars at that price point came with hard cases. The new PRS CE series is $2499 and comes with a bag, no case. The Gibson SG is $1799 and comes in a bag. The EVH Relic series is $1699 and comes with the world's worst bag ever. I think you need to be north of $2k these days if you want a hard case with it.
Usually Sweetwater will throw one in if you convince them you MIGHT want a guitar if it comes with a case, and it's over 1k
I remember some horrible chipboard cases, but not hard cases
@@SFBGuitar my 80s earlier 90s guitar with great cases... my Evh American came with a case... I bought that boogie guitar because I saw your video and that came with a great case and the guitar was $590ish... my 2 adrian vanneberg's came great cases... My Gibson Flynn v, which is now vintage, came with a case. My Nuno betancourt guitar came with a case. He'll even my peavey tracer came with a case... but that guitar was meant to go to a real guitar player a professional... yay me but I got it.
A matching blue headstock would look great on that.
thats a beautiful guitar, gorgeous color, love the body shape and it has my favorite pick up configuration, HSS
Their Floyd Ares model in green is gorgeous
Lovin that blue!
I plan to snag one in the vintage ivory finish; real Yngwie vibes with that one 😍
You would be far better off buying this because it's made in Japan. Price point is good and overall is far superior to all the made in china / mexico stuff that's now flooded the guitar marketplace. I prefer the silver metallic option but hey the basic black always rocks
Steve, an outstanding value to anything Fender USA markets today. I've played for over 5 decades and until 2010 (or so) my all time favorite was a Fender Strat. No more, Fender is more interested in raising the cost versus providing at "least" one USA model that is affordable. Their retail prices for both USA/MIM is simply laughable. $1500 for a MIM guitar, excuse me I just tossed my cookies. Bottom line there are SOOOO many alternatives. The Vola is an outstanding example, and if this is out of range (the economy stinks), suggest young and old look up CoolZ guitars, they are made by FujiGen (Japan) - they make Ibanez and so many others. BTW, Fuji Gen made the prized Strats for Fender in the 80's - 90's and the Epiphones for Gibson (MIJ). So when I say they make a great guitar that CoolZ is every bit as good as ANY Fender made in USA guitar - used you can find them (w/tax and ship) for under $500 used. Again, there are so many guitars out there. Keep up the great work. Cheers
I really like their signature cutout at the heel of the body.
When you said those are $859 .. I definitely said a bad word . 😄 Nice prices .
Damn man, Leslie West is in the house! I do love to hear you play these guitars!
Good call on the Cobra blue. I was confused when I heard the name. Shelby never entered my mind.
I ordered mine thru Amazon…I felt like a dick ordering a guitar from Amazon, but I wanted the return policy…I never returned it, I freakin love that guitar…and that neck, wow👍
For years I thought I was a thin neck strat guy, that was the only guitar I was interested in wouldn't even turn a tag on a les Paul, then I broke down and bought an IYV LP with a slim tapered neck, suddenly I was hooked on LPs,now I have a bunch of fat neck guitars from SGs to LPs once you find out how comfortable a chunky neck can be, you won't have a preference, and I even have small hands, I've come to appreciate a chunky neck, more stable tuning, less worry about breaking the headstock ect,try it you might like it.
it does look like it has an 'improved 2-pole vibrato', as opposed to the old '6-screw'... it sounds great... if it's not a 'super strat', it's 'super strat adjacent'...
Just played crazy train too before i watched the video 😅
I think you're happier than when you demoed that Les Paul clone in the beginning :)
Your playing is so good.
Pretty awesome for a "base" guitar!
Awesome guitars!
Good grief dude can play.. the toneage is delicious. Earbuds cranked.. nice skills.. and thourough reviews👍🤟💯
Beautiful sexy guitar the blue the body contours
Nice guitar! I have a similar Fender Strat in nearly identical "Chrome blue" from 2004 (50th Anniv model). HH Strat with BEAUTIFUL flamed neck - the most flamed I've ever seen from Fender USA. Almost like Music Man. Thanks for sharing!
I have heard him say this is a Series. What does that mean? Are the companies sending the guitars?
Yeah, I bought a Kramer left-handed. They say it has Alnico five pick ups not ,now. it has an Alnico 2Humbacker the bridge.and Alnico 5 middle and neck and I put pick up rings on the middle neck only Guitar I have with that Floyd Rose. It’s OK.
I just wish they offered that identical guitar with a Floyd but the only offer a Floyd type whammy in their high end models.
Fender American Stratocaster deluxe HSS has locking tuners
So does this one. Didn't you notice ?
@@chriskitchen4772I know
Steve said fenders didn’t Come w locking tuners
@@vincenta1074 No, I said the two Fenders I just recently reviewed didn't have them. I never said anything about Fender in general. This video has been a real source of confusion for a lot of people, it appears. If you spend enough money, sure, Fender will put locking tuners on a guitar. Show me a Made in Japan guitar with locking tuners by any brand other than Vola that costs around $825, brand new. Even the cheapest Made in Mexico Strat with locking tuners is $900.
@@SFBGuitarsorry Steve
I may have missed that point
I will say that guitar sounds as good as, if not better than my 3000$ HSS American deluxe
Then again it’s all about the player
Thanks for the great content !
Huge fan!
And if I’m working up in Boston for med flight
Bring the kids to see the helicopter!
You know, AERODYNE really rocks, man...🤔
Wow you are a hot player how long you been into guitars dude
No äääh it's not the cobrablue it's the wonderbraaahblue bro 😅
u are so handsome bear
That head stock not for me.
I felt the same but honestly when you’re playing the guitar, you don’t even notice…and it’s my first reverse headstock, took some getting used to 👍
Steve I'm betting that the neck is made in Japan and the rest is made in China when you can see through the paint it's Chinese lol
