J 200 vintage has great sound and an array of tones beautifully demonstrated. Some strumming, and basically a master class on acoustic composition. thank you for that free lesson! thanks Norm and Jen for making this happen day in day out.
I don't recognize that as a Greg Lake or ELP song but I'm not super familiar with all that music. Do you know the title? It is a killer tune whatever it is. If I had to guess I would have thought it was a Lemmo original.
Interesting that they talked about the neck as thin and easy to play. I found that a Martin neck feels thinner and the J-200 somewhat big. IMO... My J-200 is from 1984. Great video and I feel lucky to have purchased myJ-200 new for $986 w/case back in '84. Over 3 grand now! I received a quote for a J-200/12 for $5000 several years ago, but I just didn't have the money to commit to the custom order.
@@edschram1140 You could get a used one… Or buy a more modern and affordable version, Gibson has a ton of these starting at 3.5k-4k. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still a lot of money but imo it’s worth it if you really want one. In my case, like I said, this is my dream acoustic and it will be a once in a lifetime purchase when I get one (I’m not into buying many guitars, I prefer to just have a few really good ones that truly resonate with me), so spending those amounts of money once for something that will be with me until the day I die, I think it’s worth it. But to each their own.
Does the J200 with the horseshoe inlay have rosewood sides and back? That guitar sounded amazing. This guitar not so much. It is loud and beautiful though. I had a similar sized Guild F50R from the 70's and a maple sides and back 80's J200. Both were loud, but volume isn't everything. Still, those Jumbo Gibsons and Guilds are cool.😊 Why not post these guitars and their prices? Stay cool Norm Michael, and Jen.
Kinda funny to consider how a 60-yr-old guitar is considered vintage; when a 150-yr-old violin is just getting broken in! Time has been very good to this Gibson, though!!
Sounds beautiful. I am with y’all Mike & Jen, if I owned the place I’d be on the rooftop barking and playing guitar with Joe Bonamassa and Amos. 😂LOL 👍🎸✌️
The best Gibson flat top I've ever heard on Guitar of the Day -- such a rich, spacious sound!

wow that's lovely! Even in non-4K recording!
J-200 “Everyone Should Own One”
Dylan, Lennon & Harrison’s are specked similarly. The Steinway Piano of flat tops for sure.
A MAGNIFICENT GLORIOUS INSTRUMENT
Extremely lovely and so soothing to the ears ❤❤❤
Beautiful guitar work Lemmo! Awesome! Awesome video Jen!
Lemmo really has a way with them strings.. wow.
I’m a simple man. I see a j200, I click on the j200. Unreal guitar!
Beautiful guitar,beautiful song!
That is a beautiful tone 😮
Beautiful melodies...
A real gem of a guitar.
Norm can sure produce the cremé de la cremé of guitars when he wants to.
Love ya Norm!

i don't know what i expected but i didn't expect that. really nicely balanced bass to treble, made even better with lemmo's touch.

An absolutely beautiful guitar, in the hands of the master of guitars. Well done, Michael. I look forward to hearing you every day.

Awesome guitar playing Mike...I felt that one man....especially that first song.
Old Gibson acoustics just have that thing.
