  • Had the pleasure to take out CFMOTO MT450 (Ibex) on a 2 hour long test ride. Rode city streets, highway as well as trails, crossed a few logs and tried out the acceleration and braking capability on the road.
This is the raw footage of me going reasonably "all-out" on a test bike that I have to get back to the dealership in an hour :) Take note that I've ridden this bike only for an hour before, it has not been set up for me (apart from adjustment of clutch/brake levers), its equipped with stock tires (CST Ambro A4) that are, essentially, street tires (or 60/40 street/off-road at best).
Excuse the loud wind noise, please. It seems that the windshield somehow created some turbulence or something around my helmet and caused it to be quite loud.
Considering the price tag of the bike it was really interesting to see how will it handle itself in these trails. To be honest, the power was certainly enough. A bit more might be better, but there was definitely no problem here with regards to power.
I put the bike on scales and it weighted at 188,5kg with ~40% of fuel, thus, fully tanked up bikes should be around 196kg.
On the other hand suspension left quite a lot to be desired. Frankly, it was quite harsh (especially fork) already on the road in the city.
I have no idea what adjustments where set, as I didn't touch them at all (same as previously on KOVE bikes), but the fork bottomed multiple times throughout this ride and deflected all over the place, giving no confidence in the ride. Although rear was slightly better (due to less impact on steering), it also bottomed and deflected multiple times. Sure, on whoops with a better tire and more training I would be more efficient lifting the front tire to transfer it over to the next whoop which would help a lot avoiding undue input on the fork, but when you fail to do so the consequences could become serious (as you can see at 2:14) as the fork is not able to cope with such action.
Tires actually did somewhat decent. I certainly couldn't tell much difference between their performance as compared to the performance of Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR that were fitted to the KOVE 800X Pro I rode last week. So, even though the ride was somewhat sketchy at times because of the limited grip, especially at the front, this time the real limiting factor was the suspension.
Even though I was able to achieve the same lap time as I did with KOVE 800X Pro (to be honest, I'm quite shocked about how it turned out so), the reality is that I pushed this bike harder and took on more risk than I should have and than I did with KOVE 800X Pro. Throughout the ride I endured quite a lot of harshness, deflection and bottom-out to achieve this result. Even if the bike would've been equipped with better tires I don't think I could've done much better as I was already riding quite close to the limit.
On the other hand I certainly could've pushed the KOVE 800X Pro quite a bit harder with better tires, as the suspension (even on the softest fork setting) allowed me to somewhat comfortably rider the bike on the limit of the tires. Sure, the KOVE 800X Pro is much more expensive bike, and there are many other aspects to consider when choosing a bike, with these remarks I just want to convey that the lap times do not tell the whole story.

Hmm, vienāds apļa laiks ar Kove 800x Pro. Interesanti.

Jā, es arī pats biju pārsteigts, jo reāli pēc sajūtām šķita, ka braucu lēnāk. Detalizētāk gan vari palasīt (ja vajag, pārtulkojot) apraksta beigās.

The CF moto 450 ways around 195 kg u said , so basically the same weight as the kove 800 or Aprilia Tuareg ... lol .. Its really only the price and nothing to do with lite weight ... Thx 😁

You have to test one to feel the weight. Even with the same weight, the CF feels lighter because of a lower center of gravity. And it is short riders friendly.

Yes, it certainly weight the same as KOVE 800, and feels similarly while riding as well. Maybe KOVE feels a tiny bit heavier, but nothing too noticeable. Haven't tried Aprilia Tuareg so can't comment on that. The MT450 is definitely a bit lower than KOVE 800, so friendlier for riders with shorter legs. On the flip side, though, the handlebars are way out in front and even I needed to ride with my hand stretched out too much for my liking (sitting, of course), so short riders could find this to be a problem.
