This combo is what I am going for although with the stainless steel LMLM and not the micra. Can't wait for the Philos to be available in Australia.

@@TheEspressoTV echt?

Thank you Marcus for this video of a very "nice" product. It does, however, seem to take up a lot of counter space, and the ergonomics of the grinder's rear-mounted grind setting raise questions. Admittedly, we don't have "little arms", but it's a bit surprising. On the other hand, with Mazzer, the product must be solid and, apart from these surprising points, well thought-out. That said, it's a real eye-opener. I've heard the price quoted at 1000 euros (incl. VAT).

I wonder if this will be priced similar to Super Jolly, or Eureka ORO SD USD or $800-$1000. It was hard to see but it looks like a lot of empty space. I wish he was able to show the chute and burr chamber (path) to see where they eliminated places for grinds to end up like in their (every) on-demand hopper grinders.

Looking at the popcorning 8:16 so i guess no prebraker, no blind burrs, the dial is at the back, the metal finish is different and the case looks twice as big as Zerno Z1 or 064s. I am so confused looking at this and can’t find one reason to choose it even over Zerno or Timemore.

    • @nittygritty7434

Think no way to totally eliminate the popcorn as even P64 has that a little where they have the anti-popcorn lid as well as even Zerno etc retain some grounds. Think Coffee Chronicler noted the Timemore isn't so easy to access for burr swap compared to something like the DF64 gen 2 but maybe I misread his opinion between those two. I've been going back and forth between buying something like DF64v and saving $, or the P64 and now Philos. A lot have opinion burrs matter most once get into $500 range grinders but others think build quality, better tolerances adds in the cup improvements & consistency so improvement is more than just workflow, like a little slow down in motor RPM during grind, or a 1mm shift in burrs from bean's pressure while grinding causes some inconsistency on top of a little more retention is the difference in 'better' grinders like the P64 or Zerno. When puck prep or the espresso machine temp swings cause addit'l variables it keeps adding up.

@@nittygritty7434 think the probleb with mazzer it has 1400 locked inб maybe thats why it popcorns more than other. Well I don't like iit at all.

      "Guess no prebreaker"
      - wrong
      "Dial on the back"
      - helps retain alignment/adjustment when cleaning
      "Why chose it over zerno"
      - well established brand, known for extreme longevity even in commercial environment
-already scaled up the production, many new brands struggle there
      -200d burrs
      Praised in many, many reviews
      - it is available NOW, you can just purchase it (not get your place in some waiting list)
(That said, I absolutely dig the zerno, small, elegant, well crafted, no doubt. I just listed reasons to go with the philos, I am aware not all of them apply to everyone)
