- Buying the perfect discus and discus tank mates for my 90 gallon aquarium. I picked up the beautiful new discus from Chicago Discus, where I had done a behind the scenes tour video a few weeks back. The new discus are incredible and doing well. I also added the rummynose tetras to the tank after they were in quarantine about 8 weeks. In today's video, I added corydoras as well, completing the overall setup of this 90 gallon aquarium.

Loveeeee the tankkkk❤️❤️💕💕
Thanks!
Not gonna lie, the segment where you organized that big mess was the most inspirational part of the video.
So many channels try to give aquascaping inspiration, but what I really need right now is fish room mess organizing inspiration! Haha
Hi there again. I like the your aquascaping of the 90 gallon discus tank. I am running into something challenging. I have a 90 gallon tank that has been running 4 1/2 month with 4 small Cory’s & a medium Angel fish. It’s time to add my discus. Is there a way of adding more sand without it swirling around my tank & getting in my canister & a Tidal 110 h.o.b? Thanks for your time. Sincerely, Marty B
I would use a cup to add it in gradually. And possibly do a small water change with the filters off while you add it in
I subscribed to your channel.
Welcome, and thank you!!
Everything looks great! Nice to see from start to finish. Thanks for the upload!
Thanks for watching!
Troy,
This looks fantastic. I am glad you got your Cory cat's. I love the discus and the rummy nose tetras and how they are schooling together and give the aquarium activity. Cory cats are busy beavers and are fun to watch. Appreciate the video.
🙂
Thank you, appreciate it!
Amazing! I feel like this was a members only video or something 😂
Beautiful thanks for sharing the completed tank🤍
Hey Troy I'll help you tidy up by having you send me your extra sump haha. As usual another great video
After organizing, I was thinking that’s enough space for a new aquarium and then you said it 😆.
Yes! Love this!
How nice of the cats to help you unbox things
Haha always!
It funny how you think when you have MTS. I have one spot left for a big tank. Thinking a 90 gallon.
Nice job of your clean up:) My first thought was 'more room for another tank..lol' Videos are always better with your kitties😊
The tank looks so pleasant...it will be a show stopper once the plants are grown to full length...One more tank coming up...😮the news i was waiting for...Lets go brother😊🎉🎉🎉
Thank you, looking forward to it!
Wow!!! Just when I think you can’t make your tanks look any better, you say “hold my beer”. Thanks for sharing, Troy.
Looks fantastic great job
Thank you!
Your Cat 0:12 does not seem very impressed with all this stuff. Does not get what all the fish is about!
Rambo isn't impressed easily lol
You have a good spot there for a huge tank lol ❤❤❤
Looking great! I've always had great luck with all the aquarium co op plants I have got. The dwarf sag I have started spreading really fast
Thanks, and awesome! Hoping I have the same luck
Holy Moly is right lol great job looking good!
Thankyou for giving a peek at your Discus tank. Discus are my favorite fish that I keep. I also have a 90 gallon.
That's awesome, thanks for watching!
I think u could get like another 6 Cory's they would behave much better, and u have plenty of space, and they do not add too much bioload to the tank
I've thought about that! May add a few more plants and corys
Beautiful! You ain’t fooling nobody…we all know there’s a few new tanks in the near future!😂
Haha yep! Always up to something lol
Great. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Now u have more room for another tank lol
This room cleaning was what most people don't show. Awesome job. Great space and I love the way the tank is set up.
I agree! Keeping my fish room clean makes me happy. I’m working on decluttering every week… (Do you need anything ha ha!)
@@ruthwalker5179 exactly! I have a little shelf next to my big tank where I have all kinds of supplies and food and stuff and two weeks in a row I caught myself decluttering it. I need to start putting together little kits to give out of old equipment for someone else to use
That aquarium looks great. Congratulations..
Thank you!
Space for mbunas! 🙏
Looking forward to hearing about the future plans!
👍👍👍👍
Thanks!
Thank you!!
Thanks!
Thank you, really appreciate it!!
Are the plants just for decoration? I’m wondering if there are any benefits to adding plants, like maybe so the Discus can eat them.
Da hast du ja noch genug Platz für weitere Aquarien! 😂
Yep!
I really want to upgrade my 55g to a 90, but they are so hard to find and so much more expensive than the standard 75g
Agreed! I got this one on Facebook marketplace
@@CichlidBros I got lucky I was able to find a group of 6 juvenile red head tapajos at my LFS. I’ve been enjoying them as small babies. Definitely need an upgrade real quick though
@@brandonodle7817 awesome
You should have got a few stem plants and a few floating plants. Water changes would have been a thing of the past
The previous owner of my 72 bow front used to keep discus fishes
You clean up really good
Haha, I should’ve used that quote from anchorman!
Wow beautiful 😮
Thanks!
Love the tank and the cats
Thanks!
How are you just going to glaze over the live rock? There’s only one reason you got that!
Wow the petite looks so nice 😍
And Corys are absolutely fun to watch ❤
Absolutely amazing ❤❤❤
Thank you!
That tank is amazing. Is that a normal 90 gallon. What are the dimensions? I'm trying to decide on that or a 125g
question for you I am setting up a 75 gallon south american chiclid tank my stocking list is 2 electric blue acara, 3 geophagus tapajos, 2 angels and a school of buenos aires will that quantity and type of fish work
Sounds like a great stocking to me!
How are your discus from Chicago Discus? Any problems or losses?
They’re all good so far. Doing well
Beautiful Aquarium maybe my new favorite. Great job on the tank and cleaning up the space Troy! ❤ 👍 🐟
Thank you!
Did you rinse the sand before adding it ? I’m thinking of adding more sand to my angelfish tank
I didn’t for this type. Usually Carib sea is pretty clean
Tip for next time add the plants and sand when u drop the water level for water change and u won't have to hold your sleeve up lol
Oh yea can we also get some updates on your borthers tanks
Don’t give up on the Rams! Adding 2 or 3 German blues would add an underrated pop of color to that tank!
I may someday
Your tank looks great! Way to go and thanks for sharing the journey. I like the warm color of the substrate and will likely use it in my next project.
Thank you! And I’d recommend that!
Great looking tank. It's going to outstanding when the plants grow in. I always wondered how to add substrate to an existing tank. Now I know I can just pour some in a ittle at a time.
Thank you, glad it was helpful!
Looks great! What did you use to attach the Anubis’s to your drift wood?
Thanks! I just squeezed them in between the driftwood and rocks
Where are your brothers? Have they suddenly gotten shy?
They’ve been busy with the end of the school year/track season
What temperature do you run this tank at?
82 F
