here in indonesia this car for version 2011-2013 had alot of complaints. fuel pump failur, electronics, abs, AC, piston/liner, injectors, transmission. then I checked the review in other countries and I am not surprised at all
I have owned a 2013 LX7 diesel Captiva now 6 years, though suffering a pump issue in the gearbox, this is the only issue I can say that I have experienced. Holden has honoured the gearbox issue for those of the same type, and given a full 10 years warranty for the gearbox. I have driven around 115,000 kilometers in the vehicle with no real issues. I am not suggesting the owners of the petrol engine models don't have an issue, however; I wish the others would not bag every single Captiva, as I find that the diesel model is a superb vehicle, and in my opinion, the best vehicle I have ever owned. What disappoints me, is that those that are 100% negative about all Captivas, are making their complaint based on the choices they have made, and for those of us like you and I have chosen a version that in the majority of cases goes like a dream. This should not be overlooked for those who are generally considering the diesel top end models whilst considering their next vehicle.
If you have a regular oil change at 10k then these at excellent cars , although can only speak for the manual diesel spec. We have 4 Captiva's now, and currently own a 2013 2.2 Ltz . Good value against mucher priced SUV's .
I don't that at that point what car is it Chevrolet Holden or Daewoo who's responsible for this if this is made in Korea why is it carry Chevrolet name
@@patrickbateman6885 here in Philippines we never got the final facelift and stuck up with 2nd facelift because no one buys it as they know its a death trap
Looks the same as all the other captivas all Holden has done is put some fancy lights in it and apple CarPlay and here in NZ in the Southland area they have been flying out the door our school has 3 of the same model and spec captivas all just with different colours.
This is a terrible SUV, he did not mention the air conditioning struggles to cool the front let alone the rear passengers. Cheap vibe inside and yet people are willing to spend good money when there are much better SUV's on the market.
If it's the diesel, fixing leaking timing cases that make the oil filter next to useless. Weak auto transmissions, drive shaft seal leaks, electrical issues with the Nav screens and the list goes on.
Rayka same as the year bathing in abs issues, shock absorber leak and emission issues. i have one as my father's former fleet car. the castrol surrendered never to buy american cars due to expensive maintenance and delay shipping of spare parts. i drive it now and its a biggest regret
Do not buy this car! My father bought this car as an Uber, and the list of failures are on going. This is Holden's(GM) buyout failures of Daewoo which means quantity over quality..
Only a fool would make a video glorifying the DAEWOO Craptiva. Any car reviewer worth their salt would not make a silly video like this. These are seriously the worst car money can buy.......... So many families have been burnt into financial ruin from buying these faulty shitboxes.
Please if anyone is thinking of buying this car then please actually look at any of its competition. This car has earned the name craptiva. There is a Facebook page called my Captiva is shit. And those unsealed roads that he claims to be better on than on paved roads is so smooth that a Lamborghini would also be very comfortable on that surface. I will also add that those new daytime running lights look like they are aftermarket.
No mention of Holden’s well documented unreliability, poor customer service or free fall sales. Good luck with resale in 3 years.... Yet another paid commercial from caradvice.
Wonder how much car advice was paid for this review ?? Nothing any good came out of the Daewoo factory. It finally caught up on GM leading to the demise of Holden. You can sell rubbish cars for a while but it will catch up on you. It might look like good value for money when compared to other brands, but it is actually poor value considering it is a Daewoo at a Holden price.
Lucas Pedley the only downfall of H Load or Starex vans are the funeral services converting a Hyundai Van into a Hearse. And seeing that particular car such as Cadillac escalades turn into hearses. I sway off because its not my typical body carrying vehicle.

After a year what do you think of the turbo diesel? I’m looking at the same model

Plenty do - the Captiva is at the budget end of the market though.
like holden and ford range?
