Thanks for the vids Jay. We were all waiting for this and Hotone pulled through as usual. Love your presets BTW. All the best and greetings from Mexico!
Hey dude, new Ampero II arrived yesterday - the video will be in the works in a few weeks time. I'm looking forward to diving into this one as its gonna be pretty special 😊 🤘 Have an awesome day!
Hi Jay, o just blight a Stage 2 but have trouble load 10:41 ing presets on a mac book pro. When I click on the import option, it doesn't open the window to select the preset to import.
@@CoenBijpost I've compared the 2 units side by side. Stage has a Mic input and can do vocals. Has Vocal effects. Stomp can't do that. Stage has XLR Output to Monitor Speakers. 2 External pedal options on the Stage. The Smaller Stomp at $500 is still not Cheap. I'd say if you are a Bedroom warrior who doesn't care about the vocals stuff, get the Stomp. But if you're a Gigging musician or a multi-instrumentist who wants that vocal option, pay a little more for the Stage. It's just a more Robust unit for those who play gigs or in have a Church band etc...
Based on my personal experience, since I'm a little short on money I got a Stomp, couldn't afford a stage at this point, but if you can, go to the Stage.
That’s actually great they are using the upgraded UI on stomp! Hey Jay, is it the same as stage tone wise? I know you said so in the video, just wanna know if there’s the same amps in amount and tone
Hey dude, exactly the same amps and sounds from both. Sound engine and hardware are basically identical - the Stage just has more switches 😊 🙏 Have an awesome day!
(Question) Hello Jay, thanks for all the info! Great! I was thinking to purchase the stage but now i’m thinking the stomp will do fine. It will be used just at home only. My question is if you can controle the stomp with an app for ipad? (iphone maybe) Thanks in advance 👍🏼
That’s a great question. The Stomp doesn’t have a Bluetooth or WiFi module so you wouldn’t be able to control it with an app I’m afraid. Hope that helps. Have an amazing day!
nice review! but what the reason? you could do the same on the patches as it was.... I thought you can programme 2 scenes on one button so in total 6 sound on 3 buttons but its not... can you explain please?
Thanks. I am wondering if buying stage or buying neural DSP plugin? If I buy neural Plug in I need to buy a good monitor speaker and audio interface, after all the price between 2 options will be the same. Which option you recommended? Thx
Thats a really good question. For me your question comes more down to whether you will use the unit for playing live, in which case the Ampero for sure - or if you're just going to use it for recording, in which case either will be fine. Sometimes plugins are easier as you just have to plug into your interface and monitor through your computer - less option paralysis as well. But if you want a unit that you can take anywhere, then something like the Ampero would be a better choice 😊 Hope that helps. Have an awesome day!
@@jayguitar thank you so much for your reply. I just play at home only so in this case. Plug-in is better is it right based on what you said? Thank you so much.
@@yliu4093 You're welcome. Yeah plugins should do you fine if you're playing at home 😊 Plus the Neural stuff sounds pretty amazing. Check out the Nembrini plugins too - they are my favourite amp plugins. They sound stunning!
Hi Jay! Can u use an effect like the digitech drop pedal on the stomp? I also wanted to ask any advice to get a tone like Stryper band. I’m going to play on a Stryper tribute band. Thanks in advance
Hey dude, no I don't think they are/will because the hardware and software on the mini is the same as the MP100/original Ampero rather than the Stomp/Stage - so it is an older platform and less processor power. Glad you enjoyed the video. Have an awesome day!
Jay - I tried to download your presets from the link in the video and it says the archive is corrupt. The file size says 2.6 MB I can't get any of them to work. However I was able to get one PRST file to work from a previous video
Hey dude, apologies for that happening. which preset did you download that didn’t work? Send me the link for the preset too so I can check it. Let me know and we can get it sorted out. Thanks and have a great day.
@@jayguitar Jay - I think I got it figured out.... When I try to download it from the link on your patreon using my Android phone it tries to open up a zip archiver and that screws everything up. When I try to download it by typing in the link in my browser on my Android phone it works fine 🤔 I'm so sorry for the trouble 🙏🏼
Had to uninstall the old Stomp II software and reinstall the new, had to hold 3 buttons down to install the new firmware, nothing is ever straightforward is it.
Yeah right. Having colored lights instead of a screen that everyone can read is an advancement in UI. The Ampero is vastly superior in every way. The only thing lacking is Linux software. The unit runs linux but stupidly nobody makes Linux software to control stuff.
Maybe I missed sose news, but did IK added new functionality to their Tonex line, so they have effects now? Or is it still just an amp profiling platform? Completely different use case than any of these modeling units. Compare the Tonex to Kemper or the free vst NAM and see how it stands there...

great tools....and now updated it is one more advance. Good people from the Ampero company

Brilliant video as always Jay , just bought the Stage Downoload pack after successfully installing the update. Hope the fingers nearly back to 100% ??

All well and good! I own both and I must say the stage 2 actually sounds better IMO.
The electric interrnals are literally identical
@@funkjunkygbut you don’t understand. He can hear a difference. That beats your wiseguy “facts” and sciency “electrical internals” fables 😂
They sound identical to me 😊 🙏 The internals, sound engine, models, etc are the same between both. Anyways, have an awesome day!
Hi., tks for the video. is the sound quality of both units the same ? Some poeple say the stage sound a bit better ? Any taugths thanks
They are literally the same chips
This stuff is above my pay grade, but did the update for the Stomp upgrade the Algorithms or whatever they say were better on the Stage?
Nothing was better on the stage. They’re identical. The stage has more switches and had scenes. Now it only has more switches.

Hi Jay great vid, have you ever had any issues on the looper mode undo/redo function on the Stomp since the release of V2.0.0?
like when you record the 1st loop then overdub to the 2nd loop, now you cant undo/redo the 2nd loop & so on?
Hey dude, truth be told, I never use loopers so I have no idea my friend 🙏 apologies that I can't provide more details about it. Have an awesome day!

Where is the Firmware update for the Ampero Mini,it is overdue ?
The mini isnt the same as the stomp or stage which are identical processors. The mini is based on an older model and unlikely to see a major overhaul
So you can import stage presets into stomp?!
With this firmware update, you still cannot use your phone via Bluetooth to change settings correct?
The Stomp has no Bluetooth hardware capability. Only the Stage.
Also is just for iPhone users at the moment the app 😅
So why pay for the stage now?
SUPER!!!:)))
Update is not as loud as the original global AUX input.
Had to uninstall the old Stomp II software and reinstall the new, had to hold 3 buttons down to install the new firmware, nothing is ever straightforward is it.
Tone X one rules them all.
