A conversation very much needed. So happy that she is walking knowing the true love of Our Heavenly Father his mercy his embrace. Totally enjoyed this conversation
I love that she came to question. God allows, even to calls us to question our pastors and teachers. Is it correct? Is it a different perspective? Is it what you believe? Your relationship with God is between you and God. It is personal. Always seek God, seek understanding, and seek the truth. ❤
What a great testimony of how to pick out the lies in your life while also clinging to the love of the father. She’s right we will never be perfect we just know the one who is which gives us the grace and strength to be transformed and turn away frm our sin and not use Gods grace as an excuse to keep sinning but to keep asking Holy Spirit for help and understanding and practice self discipline and obedience soo we don’t keep harming ourselves. We go from faith to faith believing we will always be loved by a perfect father and he is transforming us into his holiness even as we are progressing little by little and it’s hard to see. He sees his children as righteous and holy even when we can’t see it ourselves
I so can relate to SOME of her upbringing. Growing up in a Catholic home, my parents and some of my older siblings taught us to be scared of most thinks in this world and grew up scared. Now, as a Born again, Christian woman, wife and mother decision I wouldn’t do that to my family. And, also now counsel my parents and siblings of what God’s true Word says about how we were brought up. Jinger seems to be such a good Christian role model for today’s young ladies, wives and Mother’s. I really enjoyed her book!
I have gone through this too. I think it is a lot prevalent than we hear about. I praise God for keeping me and building me back up according to His word. Thank you, Jinger, for sharing your story.
I love the description on disentangle. It is so true for many who grow up in high demand households wether due to religion or abuse I’ve been disentangling for 20 years❤
Your book was incredible... While I did not follow the teaching of that institution, I did get many of my beliefs from various televised teachers that caused so much fear and confusion. It took many years to untangle what IS truth versus twist. Thank you for sharing your story and glorifying Christ, it is beautiful.
Our stories are different but also similar in the who untangling things. I grew up with abuse in many relationships and I feared God would hurt me like the ones who were supposed to protect me. I am learning now that my identity is not in the way they saw me but in how Jesus sees me. Ty for showing me that as adults we need the right view our Father. He has healed me so much and I’m proud of you for sharing your story bc you brought something that many other people had issues with and you shed His light out of the darkness- looks we both get Beauty for Ashes!
I’ve seen a couple other interviews with Ginger, and this is the first one where the the questions asked by Kirk, gave her the opportunity to answer in a much broader way, allowing Ginger to describe in detail, her awareness of the differences between God’s Word with biblical truth, vs the leader of a church, USING the Lord’s word, to control his flock.
Love this! So thankful for you for sharing your story! I was raised in a home that bought into a lot of these ideas, although not nearly to the level that the Duggars did, but it still instilled in me a lot of fear. I came to know in a greater way what God's grae truly is and what it means for us in college at a small Bible college called Northland International University. There's a wonderful sense of freedom.
I'm always grateful when people are willing to share their lives, in their words, full context. As so many in this world are fighting against God's words, I'm glad that Jinger kept her love for Christ and decided to study scripture. She is a kind and beautiful soul. She can help others understand that God is our loving Father.
Father God, my strength is gone. Your Word says I can do all thing through your son Jesus Christ. Give me strength. I trust in you even as I constantly struggle to pay my rent and as I constantly struggle to provide groceries for my children! Walking with faith is the most important thing us christian’s must do. As a single mom, things are tough on me. Both of my sons are autistic. I’m constantly struggling to provide for my boys. I’m overwhelmed and so ashamed and now that I’m home schooling them I’m having trouble getting their school supplies. Heavenly and merciful Father, I come before your glorious throne today, in humble adoration please help me overcome my struggles and my constant fear of homelessness. I have faith you will get me through this hard time. Amen.
So proud to have got to listen and know you blessings Kirk to you with your life and success, amen 🙏🙏🙏💯💕God bless you and your family always amen 🙏 🙏🙏❤️
I didn’t “see” the truth until God revealed the truth about the legalistic faith I was subject to. I absolutely could NOT “see” until the Lord opened my eyes.
I read your book, Jinger, and it was amazing! I learned so much & shared with a friend who also learned so much. Your book & testimony were a blessing to us. Thank you!
I think that back when I was very young, my mom was a new Christian, my dad who grew up as a pastor's son re-dedicated himself to God, and there was a lot of confusion about these things and I even remember my church being this way, but then I saw changes in both. My parents told us that if we questioned something we were doing to just stop and think, if Jesus were to walk in the room and saw you doing it what would he think. That stuck with me. Then years later WWJD was the thing. Then I heard a pastor say once that beliefs were often what we humans write and sign Jesus's name to. That's so true and often turns so many away from church. We all fail and fall, but we have a loving Heavenly Father who forgives us. God bless you!
I stopped going to Hollywood movies a long time ago. Faith based movies are the only ones I support now! Thank you Kirk and Kevin for giving us those options.
She already is. She chose to follow what God put upon her heart. We do what God says. Not someone who reads a verse and changes it to be their authority. Keep doing your work, Jinger.
Jinger embodies a perfect healing story found in Jesus Christ. A correct view of who God is with no anger or bitterness towards fellow human beings. A story of true beauty.
I didn’t have the same sort of experiences as jinger but my foundation for everything I understood was based in Catholicism, and I spent many years in bondage, feeling like I needed to earn my salvation. Even though I wasn’t a catholic anymore, I held on to the foundation of it. When the world “beat me up” so to speak, I ended up falling away from my faith for 2 years. I didn’t have the energy to muscle my salvation and take everything the world was handing me. God was calling at me, and I knew I needed to repair that relationship. When I came back, he really started working in me. He gave me the revelation I needed, and I now understand I don’t have to earn my salvation. I don’t have to “get myself right” before I could be worthy enough to be in relationship with Him. He knows me. He loves me. He hears me, and he answers my prayers. He guides me, and suddenly I feel complete and utter freedom and peace. I don’t have to force myself to be patient, forgiving, faithful, and joyful and have peace. Those are the fruits He gives me. I'm truly free, as well and what a blessing. Jesus doesn't want us to live in shame, because it holds us at arms length. I could never earn my salvation - It was a gift, that's the whole point. Accept it, enjoy it and praise JESUS!
Loved watching this, Jinger is one of my favorite Duggers she to me feels to be so true to her beliefs and came to be her own person and have been able to see how she has learned more of her Christian faith from what she was told as she was growing up. Love you Jinger from the great state of Oklahoma. Kirk thank you so much I am also a fan of yours from watching you in your sitcom to the serif Left Behind I have the book series and read them quite often.
This is important for everyone to question what is being taught in their churches as well. A lot of people mean well, but there’s a lot of manipulation, fear and control in local churches . If you go against some churches bylaws that doesn’t entirely lineup with scripture. Many do not welcome that. As we study, we really realize it is the faith of Christ, how wonderful it is to know that God has a remnant chosen by grace and there’s nothing we could do or not do to earn or lose our salvation.💜🌿
Absolutely love the Duggar Family! I met Michelle and Jim at a marriage retreat in AR. It is sad how religions skew the facts of the Bible and add in man's rules. I've always been leery of fear mongering in a church. We should always promote teachings directly from the Bible. Especially in our kids. So glad to see Jinger doing well and digging deeper into the Bible and her faith. God bless!
🌺Ginger🤗When I was watching a show back when “Counting On” started, a preview of you Duggars came on and it caught my attention when I heard the words COURTING!! I was interested to know more about it.👏🏽Dating with a Purpose 💝I admired that about your parents. They’re sacrifices and commitment surely encouraged me💪🏾 It really was inspiring 🙏God Bless you and thank you for sharing your heart Ginger💖
That was beautiful! I came out of some similar teachings, and so I can really understand what you're both saying. Thank you for sharing, because these conversations are so vital to the spiritual health of the Body of Christ.
Great to see Jinger and Jill walk away from such a harmful upbringing and stop the cycle of abuse. Yes, it is abuse to allow your child to be molested and do nothing about it!
Wow, what a great interview! I appreciate Jinger's testimony. Our family used to be somewhat involved in one of those Christian cliques, where girls couldn't wear pants or go to college or work outside the home, secular music was frowned upon, courtship with chaperones was the only way to get a spouse, fathers were the lords of their homes, etc. A lot of that is personal standards, not Biblical precepts. The harm comes from people confusing precepts with principles. Now I understand so much more about the Word of God's stance on modesty, marriage, singleness, entertainment, and authority. Jesus is concerned with our hearts, not our appearance. You can wear a feed sack and look so modest and humble and spiritual and yet have a heart full of pride, anger, doubt, and discontentment. I know people in those groups who struggle with that. Their families look so good and harmonious, but in private, there is strife, dysfunction, unhappiness, major health problems from stress, emotional and verbal abuse, guilt, and even suicide. I am grateful that we got away from that and were given true Godly guidance and pastoring that taught us about principles and how to live and make decisions that way. The whole women-can't-wear-pants thing drives me nuts. Pants are not men's clothing. In some cultures, women are viewed as more modest wearing pants than they are in a skirt. It's cultural and it's an opinion. And ultimately, it's the state of the heart. Someone who truly loves Jesus and wants to honor Him will know if something is not appropriate for their life. To force that same standard on others, though, is wrong. If the Bible is silent on a topic, be silent. If it speaks, then speak.
@@lanatrapp1589 Oh boy, that's so sad! It's the Pharisee mindset: follow all the outward rules but don't examine the heart. I pray for your brother-in-law's salvation. Keep being a witness and showing him what true Christlikeness is.
I left the church and focused 100% on my personal relationship w God with an emissary/church folk mucking the waters and tainting my experiences w Him. I feel so much better. Liberated. Free of man made Guilt, judgement and Racism taught by so called Christians.
As an agnostic, who was raised in a cult, Jehovah's Witnesses, and stayed in for over 40 years due to INDOCTRINATION, I also have principles, not based on the Bible, but on concern, love and community. I don't knock ppl that cherish the Bible and God but I find many to judge me in the Christian community. It's frustrating, and the ones that aren't judgemental, are just trying to convert me. I wish everyone in the world the best, no matter who you are, or your life choices, as long as you are not hurting children or another person... But I've find that not to be the same in the typical Christian community... I'm not trying to bash... I'm 50, just speaking from experience... Remember to be curious and understanding instead of judgemental... ❤😊🌍🌈 Great interview.
I believe in God as does my son but not in organised religion. My daughter does believe in a higher being but like me believes in reincarnation in that we are spiritual beings who are currently living the human experience.
It was a really good show like how the questions that were asked and then Ginger answer them wholeheartedly I know their family does love Jesus and it's awesome to see that but it goes to show you that there are teachings out that may lead us astray and we have to keep our eyes on him and he leads us.
I wasn't raised at all like Jinger, i wore pants, etc, but i still had my personal fears that were so much similar, afraid if i wasn't doing this or that God might kill me, or Hed be highly displeased...i was dabbling with some churches that had other beliefs and it really messed with my mind! There IS Freedom in Christ! Not to sin, but God didn't mind my earrings , etc...He was interested in my heart and if Im committed to following Him.
The way to overcome fear is to forgive everyone so you can love. Fear of God is not a virtue. "There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love." "Those who accept my commandments and obey them are the ones who love me. And because they love me, my Father will love them. And I will love them and reveal myself to each of them.”
@@tomthumb3880 Fear is the antithesis of love. antithesis:a person or thing that is the direct opposite of someone or something else. If you fear God, you can't love him completely. Fear of God is an Old Testament idea that Jesus corrected by reminding us that we are to love God completely, which is also from the Old Testament.
@@robertdouglas8895 Psalm 111:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow his precepts have good understanding. To him belongs eternal praise.
I'm curious how that all went with her parents. I too grew up being taught from the same "man of God"and so I am curious what her parents say about it all now.
I liked this interview & how Jinger has evolved from the teachings of her childhood growing up yrs. It's hard to explain to some people the extent of the control a child grows up with in an ungodly environment. When a child hears one way presented & scripture used out of context for the benefit of control, it's hard to break away from that. I think what really helped Jinger to see things in a different light is moving with Jeremy to LA. I then she was able to see the Bible & it's teachings for the way it is supposed to be. Also I think Jeremy helped too by questioning the teachings of Gothard & helping Jinger to see the scripture in context with Jesus's teachings.
I use the word deconstruct and I am still a devout Christian. It was more about tearing down that which was man made instead of God made. Let’s be careful about getting stuck on semantics. It’s actually important to have still faithful examples of people who use the word “deconstruct” so that walking away from the faith in it isn’t the only example people have.
This ia such a humbling message. As I write this message. I was disconnected from my internet. I truly believe I am being deliberately disconnected from my faith.
Wonderful testimony Jinger. It’s so freeing to so many that have been caught up in legalism! You’ve become an amazing young woman. Loving Jesus and living the life that you are meant to live! Blessings to you!
I love the way she has been able to disentangle. I have disentangled from it as well but my husband deconstructed. His faith and life was so wrapped up in false teachings that when some of these were violently removed, his faith started to crumble. Everywhere he looked to see what he should believe, in the Bible and elsewhere, there was nowhere to go. Christianity made the most sense with how God has created our world. His beliefs are much more of a stick frame building that is firmly rooted in Christ and his death and resurrection. He does seem afraid to place anything firmly on that house because it might crumble away too.
Everything we need to know is in the Sermon on the Mount. Jesus Said..Avoid..Pride..Lust..Greed..Anger and Worry. They will destroy your Peace. Forgive yesterday..Live ToDay..Trust God for Tomorrow. God Knows what you need before you even ask and He Will Give it to You! What a Beautiful and Comforting message. Everything you will ever need. Thank You 🙏 Lord! I need not listen to preachers with all their false ideas again! 😊❤
So glad she was rescued from this cult and now lives in the truth. No music with drums? There were drums in the Bible. Some of these things still confuse me.
They likely disapproved of men with facial hair. I remember many people in the 70's were very much bent out of shape over the issue. A few still are. I'm clean shaven, by the way, because my wife says beards make men look older. So I never had a personal stake in that frivolous issue.
Most, or at least many of us, probably know who this teacher is. I won't mention his name because it hasn't been mentioned up until now. He made great inroads into Evangelical churches in the 70's because his views seemed to he a good antidote for all that was wrong in society. Eventually it degenerated into a lot of abuse, wrecking churches, breaking up families, etc. It was the perfect setting for tyrants and other abusers. "I'm in charge, so shut up " was frequently said or something like that.
I love that Jinger was able to keep her faith and love for Jesus, while disentangling herself from the rest, and I love that she's sharing to help others to do the same. I can clearly see how much more depth she has now in her faith.

Thank you for sharing this. It really helps someone like me, who wants to love the Lord, but how I hate legalism. I’m working on disentangling, so thank you.
I pray that your disentangling will be of the leading of the Holy Spirit that will give you true peace that glorifies Christ. After all it is that God is working in you both to will and do according to His good pleasure.
What a good lesson in always questioning man and what they are saying, and checking it with the Bible and prayer.
What a great conversation, thank you Kirk for hosting Jinger, your team did a great job!!
AMEN!!! Thank you Jinger for speaking TRUTH!!!
I have been praying for years that eyes would be open. Praise God Ginger!!!! Your an answer to prayer!!!
@user-wg5dm6oc3t Actually you find the truth from Christ. I was a Catholic.
"Seeing that God is not going to smite you if you step outside this box"
This girl rocks. She has her faith and lives life how she chooses. Being a far better parent than she was cursed with. Gotta admire that!!!
What a intelligent beautiful woman she is. God definitely chose her to spread the truth. ❤❤❤❤
What a nice conversation- Jinger is clear and compelling and wonderful questions from Kirk!
So true
Well done Jinger, so very well said! You've grown so so much. God's hand is on you, he lives within you.
I’m so proud of Jinger Duggar!!!💕
Love Kirk Cameron and so glad she is out
Jinger I'm so thankful that you learned truth and that you were able to break free. God is so good.
Amen.
Ma'am you have gone on several christian pages telling this story and I PRAY that your not lying bc I've seen others call you out
correct; its FAKE!! on hundreds of christian sites!! @@christiabreeden7777

She comes across as kind and gentle and compassionate in speaking the truth about what she learned. Praise God for His mercy and grace in all this.
Jinger you are going to be a vessel for God on giving people those "light bulb" moments of the actual truth!
She already is. She chose to follow what God put upon her heart. We do what God says. Not someone who reads a verse and changes it to be their authority. Keep doing your work, Jinger.
So many preachers eisegete! So glad Jinger is out of the IBLP and now learns from true, biblical expositors. 😊🌷📖
Jinger embodies a perfect healing story found in Jesus Christ. A correct view of who God is with no anger or bitterness towards fellow human beings. A story of true beauty.
Great interview! So happy she could keep her faith thru everything
I could never earn my salvation -
It was a gift, that's the whole point. Accept it, enjoy it and praise JESUS!
Mind blown!!! She described everything I grew up with…and there’s so much more to it.
Loved this interview, thanks so much!
Excellent interview. She’s a sweetheart.
Jinger😀😅
So glad she spoke out!!! She finally found a real relationship with Jesus!!!
I’ll say it again. Go Jinger Go. She is spreading good news.
Excellent interview! Jinger was very well spoken and interesting!!
Jeremy- thank you for following the word of God and the Holy Spirit and leading your family
Amazing conversation. So proud of her ❤
That was beautiful! I came out of some similar teachings, and so I can really understand what you're both saying. Thank you for sharing, because these conversations are so vital to the spiritual health of the Body of Christ.
Jeremy and Jinger are a genuine Christian couple. I am so glad Kirk spoke with them . Jesus Christ truly sets you free
Great to see Jinger and Jill walk away from such a harmful upbringing and stop the cycle of abuse. Yes, it is abuse to allow your child to be molested and do nothing about it!
I googled her she and her husband are going to a Wonderful church now.
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. ❤
My brother in law was actually turned away from a church because he didn't have a suit on. That church turned him away from God.😢😢
@@lanatrapp1589 Oh boy, that's so sad! It's the Pharisee mindset: follow all the outward rules but don't examine the heart. I pray for your brother-in-law's salvation. Keep being a witness and showing him what true Christlikeness is.
@@annahenderson2155 thank you very much. Prayers will work
I left the church and focused 100% on my personal relationship w God with an emissary/church folk mucking the waters and tainting my experiences w Him.
Great interview.
I believe in God as does my son but not in organised religion. My daughter does believe in a higher being but like me believes in reincarnation in that we are spiritual beings who are currently living the human experience.
@@kathleenphillips7145 thank you for sharing your point of view, I've always wondered about reincarnation... I'll have to do more research 😁😉
I was spiritually abused over 20 yrs ago, I’m still not over it completely, Lordship Salvation KILLS the spirit and destroys the mind.
It was a really good show like how the questions that were asked and then Ginger answer them wholeheartedly I know their family does love Jesus and it's awesome to see that but it goes to show you that there are teachings out that may lead us astray and we have to keep our eyes on him and he leads us.
Beautifully spoken!! So True for many.
Fantastic interview!
The one who fears is not made perfect in love."
"Those who accept my commandments and obey them are the ones who love me. And because they love me, my Father will love them. And I will love them and reveal myself to each of them.”
You are supposed to fear God and love him with all your heart.

There is a huge difference between following the word of god and having a preacher put his spin on the word.
My Mom loved her God rest her precious soul. I miss my Mom. Kirk would love to talk. Mark
This ia such a humbling message. As I write this message. I was disconnected from my internet. I truly believe I am being deliberately disconnected from my faith.
Leagalism has never worked. Just like with the Pharisees! Jesus knew Jinger’s heart and got her out of that. So awesome!!
Wonderful testimony Jinger. It’s so freeing to so many that have been caught up in legalism! You’ve become an amazing young woman. Loving Jesus and living the life that you are meant to live! Blessings to you!
Wow...! Thank you Jesus! What a blessing this is!
"I'm not viewed in my sin." Good quote. Great interview.
Anyone else notice how she answered nearly every question beginning with, “it’s interesting…”
Appreciate Jinger so much!
In watching the show at the time I knew Jeremy was having an influence on her.
Praise the Lord!
You did an amazing job of editing this interview
