This is a great song and a favorite of many Foo Fighters fans. The Warning have an incredible video of them covering this song on a mountaintop above their hometown, and proved that three young women can fight foo (whatever that means!) as well as six professional Foo Fighters. They really do an amazing job, especially considering they did it at altitude, not very easy, especially for the drummer/singer. Please check it out when you get a chance. I feel like the “liquid” that breaks is like reality , the blood on the authority’s hands. And the song is how he kept behind his ignorance trying to not get in trouble… and kinda like people telling him he is just a conformist. And then he responds with like a “no, im here fighting as well in the trenches”. Also the who are you has more meaning than just telling listeners who are you, what are you doing to make a difference . I feel like it’s also telling authorities, who are you to be doing this. I feel like this is a powerful activist or justice song as well as a response to the people who doubt them in their values.
