Honestly I think this would be one the best seasons we've got if our commendations carried through to our milestones and if ship naming only costed gold. I get that Rare wants us to grind towards different things to keep people playing; then they should add diversity to the milestones and not doing the exact same things a commendations put putting a higher amount on them. Also I already want to rename my ship but I don't really want to be spending actually money.
I agree but rare is just adding stuff for players who have all of the commendations and 20 mill cash and have nothing to do. If they instantly logged on and got all the rewards people would complain they have nothing new to do. Better to have something to grind for vs nothing to do but yeah its dumb bc most of the new stuff is just things youve already done 1000s of times
@@keedoopop4900 the only problem I find with this is that it's more of the same old stuff people have been doing for ages. The opinion I keep seeing of this season is "It's amazing, just slightly off perfect" I agree with that, it's sooo close to perfect we just need those little few details they left out, I still love the update especially sitting around with my crew brainstorming how we're going to optimize some of these milestones. Rare might not have prepared for us speed running these but I'm already to 250 deaths for my Wraith trophy within an hour, love the update already.
Itra everything iv wanted but yea they have missed a few things and the only being able to make progress on some milestones on your own ship is kinda dumb considering its just gonna cause arguments amoung your m8s as to who's ship you use. love most things about this update but that and the fact that they basicly want me to do everything iv spent years doing again. like if they add a csometic for doing tall tails on a captin ship fine but iv already done all of them 5 times just let me unlock it i dont want to be forced into doing thoses again
As a primary sloop player I found it quite disappointing that I could only use some of the customizations because my boats too small? Like, couldn't they add a chair and a chandelier? Being limited to the things you barely see (I don't know how long it was there but I actually didn't even notice the Curtain behind the table). Honestly for me I'm not really impressed with this update and I'm not sure if the game is really living up to my expectations.
@@jord1215 Dude, that’s a bit hostile, maybe they just like the heckin ship, or they don’t have anyone to play with? You seem almost mad that they had an opinion
This update really missed the opportunity to incorporate a bounty system. Like the ship in a server with the highest stats will grant you some sort of award (something that's not gold) if you sink said ship.
@@AShinyRay I must say, getting oneballed by a skelly sloop and sunk cause you can't get back in time is no beuno...so maybe the respawn timer will be what I like the most :D
That fucked up my crew strategy. we like to rob ships, just the whole thing to sell loot it was funny as hell, and maybe we split the loot from time to time, Or they boarded our ship without making an alliance to roleplay, but without reviving it will no longer be possible to get those laughs again
@@MrMcGriddIe It def makes hole guarding a less perfered strat to pure navy. I will be interested in what players come up with. Never underestimate what people can come up with! I don't know if this will utimately be a positive change for PvP, but it is def going to mix things up for a bit.
The milestones like the ones you mentioned are honestly plum stupid, and I'm dreading them highly. I hate myself for being a completionist sometimes. Though I'm very happy my ships can finally have names. Although i don't like how this is the only way to save our ship sets. That shouldn't be locked to captaincy, but it should be a basic qol feature this game has needed for a long time. As well as loadouts for clothing sets. Most of the sloop changes I like, or am fine with, but the changes to the mast just made sloops undeniably a force to be reckoned with. Blurbs just got one helluva buff.
Something I like about the wrecker weapons is the pistol is actually a lot more accurate than I had originally thought. If you aim with the light as your crosshair it’s nearly perfectly accurate
I understand what you mean about the price. I myself was at 9 million this morning. But after casually talking to other players, I've run into pirate legends and likewise other players not so new that were down to like $40,000. half a mil is only a small number if you put a lot of time into the game.
Yup! I hit PR like 3 months ago, started today’s season with around 1,005,000 gold, bought my sloop, and and by the time I finished customising it, I was down to 250,000 gold!
The games been really dry for me recently, just the same grinding and this 5 month long season doesn't make that any better. But this update will definitely renew my love for this game.
me and my crew are having a hard time finding good battles, we jump servers for hours for days and we don't find anyone, I don't know what it is but it's empty the game for us, and when we find something it changes servers or there is no good fight, and this update did not bring us anything, at least I hope to find more people, sea of thieves separated us from it by removing the Arena and with bad decisions in the updates, they have not fixed the hitreg, the sword is still a bit broken, there are hitreg with the cannons on the masts, and they do not give us rewards for doing pvp. lately we play other games and we will not return until something good comes for us. I guess it's karma for having fun at the expense of others, we are living our hell on earth metaphorically it's like a curse
I have a pseudo theory, if the victor of lost sands had been the servant of flame, we probably would have the servants jacket and sword instead of Merricks. The adventure "Hunters Cry" may even have been changed to something else involving the servant of flame. Sadly we'll never know
Personally im a fan of everything that comes with captaincy except for the milestones; they are just too grindy and downright ridiculous. I cant wait to start my 100 hours sleeping, burning and sitting grind . . .
I came across a brig crew doing the burning grind. Since they prepped their ship to not sink from burning they had time to kill.we spent the rest of the day with 5 guys on a sloop hunting reapers.
I really hope Rare watches this video and understands what they did wrong with the cosmetics (especially the earnable ones) and change it as soon as possible
So many great additions- And no PVP milestones. Anyways, was talking to someone the other day, and they said that "I'm more excited for the update after captaincy" and now I hate insiders because I'm gonna be thinking about that until season 8.
I wish they’d roll the commendation system into your Pirate Log - the UI is so bloated with systems now that even as a day one pirate I’m confused about what I need to unlock cosmetics, for a new player it must be overwhelming. I think we should just have your Pirate Progress and Ship Progress (once you own one) with clear goals. Just stream line everything a little :)
YEa, I don't play because this whole game system is ridiculous to follow. Rare is taking themselves way to seriously , they should calm down and figure out how to stream line this so it appears fun. Many people have told me they dropped the game because its ridiculous to figure out what's going on. I agree.
I have to admit, as grateful as I am to the fact that I was able to buy two out of the three ships already, I wouldn’t be complaining if they were a bit more expensive as that would make it all the more rewarding when I can finally have enough to buy my own galleon
That song at the end made me smile. Well edited dude. The idea of a 4 month season is pretty devastating though, I was hoping 7 would be a little bit shorter given how insanely long 6 was. Shame.
Im happy they updated the sloop to make it more viable. Im tired of having to run from other ships because i know they will always spawn camp me and shout the most vulger things to me. Not that I'm affected by it- it just gets very annoying
sail away jump off with a keg blow em up and carry on :) most of time seems to work if not there some cannons they don't expect you to be on with a chainshot
@@RW1A it still works sometimes just gotta think outside the box and as i did say in my previous msg there plenty of cannons people don't expect you to be on
This has always been my experience. I'm just doing a quest and get careless and boom, a gally is there shitting on my sloop, they repair my ship and then spawn camp me for 10 min as they take all my supplies cussing and screaming slurs while calling me bad. Like, I'm one guy and there's a solid 3 or 4 of you at any one time, waiting for me to pop into existence just to bop me in the head with a blunder, you expect me to be able to put up a fight? let's take it to naval and see how good you actually are.
the milestones are WAYYY too hard, unless im completely misunderstanding how they are supposed to work, especially the fish ones. Keep in mind this is coming from a (near) Legendary Hunter of the Sea of Theives
the fact they thought letting us name ships and attach cosmetics that where already in the game to our ships was the only thing they needed to do with the update is all I need to know, they literally just said "what's the bare minimum we could give them". So they gave us a bunch of reused assets with a smidge more detail, added a nameplate to your ship, and let you save your ship cosmetics (which doesn't work). All these big streamers are in the honeymoon phase with this update, meanwhile all the real players are dying laughing that they thought this was a update that wouldn't die in 2 days. Which it has, seas are back to being dead besides new players who just got the game. Sea of Thieves is done for.
I feel 250k was fine for solo players since there is far less you can customize with the Sloop, but I agree that the Brig and Galleon could have been much more.
As a solo slooper myself, that reduced respawn time is a godsend. I don’t think it buffs sloops too much, I’m just thankful that I now have a chance to bail a much smaller hull when being pelted by any crew larger than 2 players. Dying once is a lot less of a death sentence in a fight now.
It sucks that I have gotten to the point where after playing for years this update just isn't good enough for me to come back, if they revamped PvP or combat in general maybe I would think about it.
Tbh i like the fact that the "days since last sinking" does not persist, I love to burn my ships at the end of a session and having a persistent counter would be pretty lame
logbook selling should not be reapers only imo, it makes sense ramsey would pay for the return of logbooks so the reapers can't get their grimey hands on them, it would have been a good touch if he payed more for reaper crew logbooks, but nope more reaper favoritism and no reaper vs outposts gameplay actually in the game outside of adventures. a massive swing and a miss for me. no respawns on enemy ships makes me ecstatic though i have wanted that for years.
the only thing that worries me which i havent heard anyone mention is that with all these trinkets and decorations rare might shift their focus towards putting trinkets as rewards instead of our normal cosmetics such as ship parts, weapons or outifts
I did have an idea to extend the ship naming system further, people that buy ships (like content creators and other notable people) who buy ships and add interesting names are at a distinct disadvantage due to the fact that their viewers would know what their ships are named and either telling them to run or fight based off of that, so what I propose is that the rented ships (the ones that are free) have a randomized name at the start of the session, so that in repeat encounters you could remember who they are no matter whether or not they paid for it. On top of that I think that a bounty system would be cool to add as well. Lets just say that someone (content creator or PvP Chad) is killing pirates and sinking a lot of ships, without being sunk themselves, then a bounty will show up on the map board at outposts with a bounty on their ship/person. Taking this bounty would give you a compass (like the ones for Gold Hoarder Vaults) that would point you in their general direction. The bounty would scale based on the amount of sinks/kills they have. This would help PvP Chads to get more action by having people have an incentive to go up against them. Thoughts?
Its a good idea. Only annoying thing about the bounty would be anybody doing forts because imagine killing and fending off several people, these people can now track you down to whatever outpost you're headed to to get the loot. You could effectively just feed them sinks so you know if they've gone without engaging. That's more of a nitpick though and I'd assume the bounty would come into effect after 4 ship sinks. Players killed shouldnt really be a factor because some fights can be really long and I think that would just cause more people to camp it out and snag an easy bounty plus any loot.
The uptade is really good. Captaincy is obviously great but sloop buff looks like a good opportunity to come back to solo slooping. And how could i forget. We can finally cosplay merrick!
I am not too sure about the sloop needing 2 chainshots to get the sail down, I did some solo pvp against duo sloop and I lost cause I wasn't able to hit both of my chainshots in time before the enemy repaired their sail, I feel like I lost the fight because of this
@@yuroi5599 The fight was at a pretty long range, no way u hitting a cannonball on the sail intentionally from a distance that's more than 4.5 galleon lenghts away, the enemy ship had those "golden hour sails" and were a pretty skilled crew, in high skill, long range ship battle between players with 1k+ hours the sail needing more than 1 chain doesn't feel great
I would like to add that against other ship types this would work ok, making the sloop pretty powerful when manned by 2 players but not against sloop vs sloop like I had, on other ships if you get 1 sail down, they can't move their ship a lot, they get a disadvantage from 1 chain hit just like sloop used to, I think maybe buffing the sloop's sail to needing only 2 planks or increasing solo repair speed and removing the new buff would be a better buff, it would help solo sloops but might also create new problems, (I haven't thought about this much)
@@jeffmayo6002 I don't think that would work, I have to care about similar damage on my own ship too, their crew was skilled so they know that can ignore all damage I do for a few seconds or just ignore the holes and bail if there aren't multiple large holes, they both aren't gonna go repair unless they are in serious trouble with like 5+ holes and about to sink. But I can't ignore the damage on my ship cause if I get boarded, I need to have enough time to do some melee combat or I am forced to bail water mid fight Also cause I was solo, I didn't want to get too close to the enemy ship so they wouldn't get accurate shots on me and I would die to blunderbomb spam or get boarded while the other repairs or gets some damage done so hitting the sail or even the ship isn't easy cause I even gotta keep my ship moving and dodge their chainshots cause they will hit my sail if my movement is predictable
So you said that the cost of the ships are too low and that it’s just a short grind, but I can’t see that as I am a new player I have no clue how to make 250k. Any ways to make it as a new player
I’m so incredibly disappointed in this update that I honestly just feel like quitting. 4k hours into this game completing nearly every achievement and most commendations, and now i gotta do it all over again for some fucking trinkets and a small variety of cheaply recolored carpets and beds. This update is just yet again catering only to the new players who have yet to do everything.
I’m glad to see rare are at least trying to help solo sloops, instead of just ignoring the issue. I don’t mind these changes, I’m excited to get back on the sea.
And yet you have the people who suck a naval and rely on numbers to spawn camp complaining about it non-stop. Sure they might have made respawns a bit too fast, but I think the mast not going down in one hit equalizes the playing field when I'm up against 3 mast ships lol.
I just want where you can change your ship size at outpost. In open crew 95%of people leave if you aint in the top 10% of players. Itd be nice to beable to swap ship sizes based on whose in your crew vs having to leave and remake a ship and hope people join in

One thing i have to HEAVILY disagree with, and by extension has been a thing i've been annoyed with in SoT community for a while in general, the idea that the ships being so 'cheap' is a bad thing and that it cheapens the experience of owning a ship. Especially going so far as to say it should be locked behind Pirate Legend. This is by far one of the worst things about the community, the notion that comes once you've played the game for hundreds or even thousands of hours is that everything should be locked behind a massive grind or challenge so that the 'end game' players can't grab everything within 10 minutes of being in the game. Like, its ironic because in the video it's stated how crazy and annoying some of the milestones are for their grindyness, but just a few minutes prior you'd want the ships themselves to require *more* grind? People often forget that there are many players who love to play this game casually, doing tall tales or just island hopping for treasure with friends, not everyone enjoys being a sweater who uses all the meta knowledge of the internet to grind up hundreds of thousands of gold within an hour. I have about 100 hours in the game and i've just passed the 500k gold mark last week, which has been halfed now that i purchased my own sloop. I did NOT feel in the slightest that the experience of buying a ship was cheapened by its price, i've actually felt quite rewarded for all the time i've spent doing chill treasure runs or forts with friends. People need to remember that its *not* mandatory nor necessary to have MILLIONS of gold in your inventory all the time, and that 'lower' prices are there so everyone can enjoy the features without having to resort to mindless grinding
a lot of the community fails to realize that while obviously you can be a sweat at the game, Rare didn't make it with that philosophy at the forefront of the game's design. It's always been about it being a sandbox experience for friends and family to have fun and go on adventures that they can turn into fond memories. If making a galleon 500,000 in the name of allowing accessibility for say a family that wants to have fun with the new features is such a negative to the dedicated players running athena's all day that's really their problem.
How about doing ONE fort of fortune? 300k in 1 to 2 hours?! You dont have to do it exclusively, but come on those prices are absurdly low considering it literally takes only 2 fort of fortunes and about 4 hours to get the galleon. You cant even call that grind.
@@dartharagon9129 Forts of fortune can't be solo'ed, at least i've never managed it, which i play as 90% of the time. And the two times i have attempted with friends, the it took way too long to fight off other crews and we ended up being there for around 5 hours. So no, not a great source unless you either get very lucky or you're a pro at the game
@@lewd2851 Well everything can be solo'ed because you have unlimited tries. With Fort of Fortunes other crews can maybe be a problem, but not with normal forts. Very rarely is anyone interested in contesting a normal fort, and a normal one is also 150% easily solo-able as a noob. Maybe takes 10 minutes more but all in all one to two hours and you have 120 - 150k. In the unlikely event that you see another crew coming towards you and you are a real noob just hop server and get a new fort. If you are completely against Forts and the Reaper-Faction then you can do the BIG Merchant Alliance Routes with the Sunken Ships. I always do them if i am solo because there is nothing to worry about at all, you just dive and harpoon and get 50k in 30 minutes. It can get a little boring but it the most safe way to make good money solo AND you dont have to sail under reapers so noone will see you on the map. Even with the absolutly safe solo method it would only take you about 5-7 hours to get 500k.
The first thing i did in the update was buying a sloop and going solo, but i belive that getting a proper solo ship would be bettar than making the sloop more viable
great breakdown m8. Mercanaries voyages and NPC spawns. Holy crap. I haven't been flooded by so many unnecessary mobs in my 1000hrs in game. Athena's thieves haven wasn't this bad. I should have the Silver or golden Shadow Storm fish ornament being grade 5 hunter of shadow storm fish, but i guess i need to spend another 2 weeks in a storm at lvl 50 hunters for a stupid plaque. it's probably not going to happen I've done my grind.
Yeah, those sloop changes are all too much. For a solo it's a godsend, for a reasonably co-ordinated duo sloop the difficulty slider collapses through the floor.
Numbers are everything this change is good. A brig vs a sloop with that both have the same skill level of players, the brig will win most of the time still because they have 3 players 2 cannons and 2 masts. The brig can have a person dedicated to helm one on cannons and one boarding meanwhile the sloop is out numbered and overpowered
I think honestly that the prices for the ships aren't all that bad. As someone who has played the game for a while but plays a lot with friends I spent most of my day today going by and helping them get enough gold for their own ships and it created a pretty long lasting adventure for them since they are newer players. I can definitely say that as an older player it could seem pretty unrewarding but for newer players it's worth all the time spent. It also creates a memory for them to keep with them after getting the ship and remembering the work they put in.
I stopped playing two years ago because of how Rare was handling the Pirate Emporium and where I left off they said they were looking to make it better and find new ways to earn Ancient Coins as well. Glad to see it's only got worse and there's no new ways to earn them. Even something as simple as a few letters on a wooden board being changed costs $5 and almost everything in the Emporium is stuff that should be part of accommodations. Honestly hot take: the Emporium is just Pay to Win. In a game where your only form of progression is earning cosmetics, making a majority of the cosmetics in an update, ESPECIALLY the ones that should be rewards, paid content is making it pay to win. What's the point in even killing 5 Shrouded Ghost, the absolute rarest thing in the entire game, when all you get from it is a title people have to get close to you to even see while little timmy can get mommy's credit card and get a whole ship, costume, and weapons themed around the Ghost while not even knowing what a Shrouded Ghost is. Rare failed this game hardcore when it introduced the PE
As a solo slooper that recently purchased the game am excited for the changes. Being solo is hard mode but shouldn't be impossible mode when reaper 5 galleons pick on you because of numbers advantages l, maybe now I can ACCTUALLY get away.
@@gtpapex9814 not the best game play to sail forever while being hunted down for over an hour. Kinda makes things stale plus I enjoy the pve and won't let sweaty toxic pvpers bash on it. Hahaha! Yessss.... Fear me and my solo sloop! Ngl, so excited about these changes as 98% of my playtime is solo slooping. And it truly sucked sometimes. Now I might actually start hold my own against 3-4 players.
What they did for the sloop is all fine and wonderful, yet I would have preferred bow and stern chaser cannons over a slightly more durable mast "they existed in a historical sense for good reasons." You want to chase a solo sloop after adding those little beauties? Well then, just go ahead F around and find out. As you partake of a heaping platter of "ass lead and curseballs."🤣😂😂
I swear this update is overhyped af. Like some people are saying "this is the best update ever!" Well I guess we're gonna pretend A Pirate's Life doesn't exist then....
I think the fastest way to do the sleeping one is to go to the devils roar, go to the bottom right corner of the map, take your mast down with fire (laps anchor of course) and sleep and leave on over night
I get kicked for inactivity if i sleep. Did they change that as well? Otherwise staring at a black screen for 100 hours is borderline something you could go to court about lol
I believe I read somewhere that masts render upright on all ships from a distance, even if it's down. So knocking your mast down is actually just like shooting yourself in the foot.
I believe that rare needed to add the milestones correctly, and they did. If we just had commendations carry over, a lot of players would have unlocked everything already.
It's so nice to find a gaming company that still cares for their fanbase more than the money they can make from it, even with a few hiccups in choices like pricing it feels like Rare is still trying to focus on us having our own pirates and our own stories.
Honestly, i didn't mind milestones. Though I wish my previous progression has been recorded but if you don't pay attention to it, it'll feel like you've made a lot of progress over a series of sessions. Which is pretty ok since we do most of the stuff over time anyway. Though the buffs will make my solo trips more bearable at least.
I both love and hate this update. i love that i can finaly have a ship and call it mine and i would have liked the milestones if it wasnt for the fact it wants me to do litraly all of them again. and i also hate how only the owner of the ship can earn some of them that is such a dumb thing to have done cus all thats gonna do is cause arguments over who's ship gets used and it really means nothing other than they decide if people can place down cosmetics or not and there book tracks some things. If it was just a new achivment system where you get rewords for doing stuff then fine but as it is this forces me to have the conversation who's ship are we going to use and that just seams like its gonna make people less likely to want to play with others.
I honestly hate the fact that it takes two chain shots to lower sloop mast even if I understand it and I myself solo sloop alot it will just make duo sloops extremely powerful because they can always just repair mast
Only thing that disappointed me was seeing the fox in all the trailers and even seeing it on the tile screen of the game, but not being able to buy it. It's a decent shame for me, but I'll have to check out all that they have to offer so far.
With the new solo sloop respawn times, I will pretty much have to immediately offer my soul as soon as I die, otherwise the black screen that follows will take longer than the gates will take to open
One of your best videos, I love that you mention also the bad things, (I dont agree with all your points) the edit is amazing and the length is very good. (I like big videos.)
Agree in most parts, think we need to remember that a wish list is just that, a wish list, most of the time we’re not going to get what we want, and Rare won’t throw all the cosmetics in in one update, they’ll improve over time, they’ll probably be added into plunder passes, but love that Solo slooping is now back as this is all I do, don’t have a crew or enough folk I know that play it when I do? So this makes me very happy!
i think the pricing of ships is perfect. for a new player coming to the game making 250k is absolutely not a 1 day thing. its more like 5 days to a week.
Happy to see they added some anti griefing measures, too many times have I been pushed to the point of scuttling due to people that only want to spawn camp with no intention of sinking me or taking loot
Having the ability to customize your rowboat(or even have one upon spawn for a few thousand coins) is what I really wanted. The rowboat always sticks out like a sore thumb and it messes with my ocd too no end. The ability to customize and and equip either a canon, harpoon, or nothing would be an awesome feature too. That and I was hoping for the ability to do joint voyages. Meaning when you go to assemble your crew and you have 4+ people you can do 2 crews and can play together. Having to server hop, find and ask players to borrow their ship, etc is all a very tedious process that can take hours when all I want is to be able to play with the homies. Don't think either will ever happen though.
I've been playing all day and my persistent stats haven't updated once across multiple voyages/play sessions. Hope its not just me having to deal with this and that it gets fixed asap.
6:50 This suggestion really urks me cause I feel like it'd promote combat logging before you sink to save that stat probably be just as annoying as ewoing for GTA or something
my girlfriend and i recently started playing SoT together to spend time together while I'm currently studying abroad. It seems like we started playing at the right time (we use the sloop) love this game so much as a new player, so maybe I'm biased when I say that I think the captaincy price seems just about right for me. I think onboarding is super important, and while they could have done something to make wealthier players feel a bit more challenged, I think it's important for it to have achievable goals that encourage longer play for the scrubs like me.
5 months late but to this day I use the Wrecker cannons on my ship, even if I use Reaper-themed or Reaper-looking stuff for the rest. For 3 simple reasons: 1) its got ironsights (..sorta.), very useful. Its also not too obstructive like flaring cannons 2) It has lil fishies on the side to look at 3) It looks fairly intimidating, especially in storms. And the teeth also show up when you load yourself into it. Love em.
the pirate lord giving you a tutorial is just dumb, anyone who could and can afford a ship already knows the basics. he should appear the first time you enter your ship with your friends
Has nobody realized there’s a docking section for the rowboat, right next to the sovereigns? I’m not kidding. You didn’t bring it up but I’ve found it hilariously useful when we swing by an outpost and have our loot on the rowboat. Hope you see this Ray!

Being limited to the things you barely see (I don't know how long it was there but I actually didn't even notice the Curtain behind the table). Honestly for me I'm not really impressed with this update and I'm not sure if the game is really living up to my expectations.

Or even a global leaderboard system to see who’s ship has the best stats

I wish they’d roll the commendation system into your Pirate Log - the UI is so bloated with systems now that even as a day one pirate I’m confused about what I need to unlock cosmetics, for a new player it must be overwhelming. I think we should just have your Pirate Progress and Ship Progress (once you own one) with clear goals. Just stream line everything a little :)
YEa,
I don't play because this whole game system is ridiculous to follow.
Shame.
It feels like the milestones were just dev test values that never got a game designer to have a pass at them.

the fact they thought letting us name ships and attach cosmetics that where already in the game to our ships was the only thing they needed to do with the update is all I need to know, they literally just said "what's the bare minimum we could give them".

No. No it didn't.
the only thing that worries me which i havent heard anyone mention is that with all these trinkets and decorations rare might shift their focus towards putting trinkets as rewards instead of our normal cosmetics such as ship parts, weapons or outifts
Bingo
Get this man on the dev team
Bro ships should be like at least 500k for a sloop minimum

I am not too sure about the sloop needing 2 chainshots to get the sail down, I did some solo pvp against duo sloop and I lost cause I wasn't able to hit both of my chainshots in time before the enemy repaired their sail, I feel like I lost the fight because of this
It's also down with a cannonball and a chainshot so I recommend hitting one cannonball and then trying to chainshot
@@yuroi5599 The fight was at a pretty long range, no way u hitting a cannonball on the sail intentionally from a distance that's more than 4.5 galleon lenghts away, the enemy ship had those "golden hour sails" and were a pretty skilled crew, in high skill, long range ship battle between players with 1k+ hours the sail needing more than 1 chain doesn't feel great
I would like to add that against other ship types this would work ok, making the sloop pretty powerful when manned by 2 players but not against sloop vs sloop like I had, on other ships if you get 1 sail down, they can't move their ship a lot, they get a disadvantage from 1 chain hit just like sloop used to, I think maybe buffing the sloop's sail to needing only 2 planks or increasing solo repair speed and removing the new buff would be a better buff, it would help solo sloops but might also create new problems, (I haven't thought about this much)
Hit the mast once then spam chots below deck. Once they repair the mast and rush below to bail you will have time to bring down the mast
But I can't ignore the damage on my ship cause if I get boarded, I need to have enough time to do some melee combat or I am forced to bail water mid fight
Also cause I was solo, I didn't want to get too close to the enemy ship so they wouldn't get accurate shots on me and I would die to blunderbomb spam or get boarded while the other repairs or gets some damage done so hitting the sail or even the ship isn't easy cause I even gotta keep my ship moving and dodge their chainshots cause they will hit my sail if my movement is predictable
So you said that the cost of the ships are too low and that it’s just a short grind, but I can’t see that as I am a new player I have no clue how to make 250k. Any ways to make it as a new player

Exactly. I haven’t played in over a year and when I saw $250k for a sloop I was shocked. The most I remember earning at once was like 15k 😂
a lot of the community fails to realize that while obviously you can be a sweat at the game, Rare didn't make it with that philosophy at the forefront of the game's design.
Question: If you buy your own ship and you sink, do you have to buy it again?
Nope!
Don't use a lower case l for Roman numerals when you view it it goes capital letters use |
Ah good old times when i was playing Sea of Thieves with my 3 friends. It was best moments in my life
Rare needs to stop with the costumes or just give us more outfit cosmetics there are so many unreleased outfit pieces and cosmetics in general
Yea costumes should have just stayed as an emporium thing, no one wants a costume as a reward when you consider the alternative.
Oh and if you go into any pirate emporium there is always a fox sleeping somewhere behind the counter, it’s like they are teasing us.
With the new solo sloop respawn times, I will pretty much have to immediately offer my soul as soon as I die, otherwise the black screen that follows will take longer than the gates will take to open
It is very underwhelming. However, it sets the stage for future improvements.
SoT has become a Rare Money Grab. Rare has become the pirates of the seas, with all these emporium crap to ''steal'' or money.
This is mostly roleplay and progression padding. Am I the only one who thinks this is going to get dry within a month?
More like 2 weeks. I'm already waiting for season 8....
One of your best videos, I love that you mention also the bad things, (I dont agree with all your points) the edit is amazing and the length is very good. (I like big videos.)
This update may devide the community. More people will be solo slooping to get their own ship progressed.
So this makes me very happy!
this update was pretty dissappointing to me
making the logbooks worth more and more when not getting sunk would be such a cool flex
i think the pricing of ships is perfect. for a new player coming to the game making 250k is absolutely not a 1 day thing. its more like 5 days to a week.
That would be great actually. I'd love me a rowboat straight at spawn
The end song is amazing 17:14
I've been playing all day and my persistent stats haven't updated once across multiple voyages/play sessions. Hope its not just me having to deal with this and that it gets fixed asap.
After 4 god damn years of waiting you can finally call your ship the booty hunter in the funny pirate game.
What’s the point in buying ships? Just more customization and a name plate?
And when you sink you have to pay to fix it
0:17 what sails are those?
edit: actually, what ship set is that and how do I get it?
4:44 I feel called out as I wish the Wailing Barnacle furniture was in-game to match my ship lol.
6:50 This suggestion really urks me cause I feel like it'd promote combat logging before you sink to save that stat probably be just as annoying as ewoing for GTA or something
u can’t rlly combat log bruh ur ship doesn’t just disappear
@@gtpapex9814 If the captain leaves then the ship becomes uncaptained and loses Captain perk
my girlfriend and i recently started playing SoT together to spend time together while I'm currently studying abroad.
For 3 simple reasons:
1) its got ironsights (..sorta.), very useful. Its also not too obstructive like flaring cannons
2) It has lil fishies on the side to look at
3) It looks fairly intimidating, especially in storms. And the teeth also show up when you load yourself into it. Love em.
The emote on the new costume though is pretty awesome
I forgot that! It's very good
the pirate lord giving you a tutorial is just dumb, anyone who could and can afford a ship already knows the basics.
he should appear the first time you enter your ship with your friends
I have named my ship "Questionably Bouyant"
8:16 bet reapers really regret going after golden sands instead of daggertooth
Has nobody realized there’s a docking section for the rowboat, right next to the sovereigns? I’m not kidding. You didn’t bring it up but I’ve found it hilariously useful when we swing by an outpost and have our loot on the rowboat. Hope you see this Ray!
