If there is one thing that unites pirates, it's their desire to obtain riches. Learning the best gold farm and how to get money fast is something that a lot of us look up guides for all the time-- And that for good reason!
Is stacking loot the best way to get gold? What if you are in a solo sloop? Are there any tips and tricks to making money?
Well, the greatest trick of all is being at the right place at the right time. Community Day was the greatest money farming opportunity in the history of Sea of Thieves so I, just like many others, decided to take the chance and get to grinding.

I couldn't get in. I think Rare should consider extending community day, or community week y'know. Too many people missed the opportunity :/

I feel him when he starts being tormented by 3 sloops, yesterday me and my buddy were duo brigging and allianced with the only other merchant emissary sloop, long story short about 6 hours later we found a meg and went after it, just as it came to hit our ship a skelly galleon popped up inside of said meg, unbeknownst to us our allies were coming with a toxic sloop in tow and ended up needing us to defend them and once they showed up two skelly sloops appeared, so all in all if you count the meg as a ship and you count our brig we were in a 7 ship battle and our brig sunk 5 of them
Been wanting to play this with my brothers, but ive been fighting a cold so i can't, so thanks for giving me stuff to watch while i get better. bunch of tricks i can have up my sleeve and understand better
The more you play the less "making" money becomes the goal imo. Yes it might shift into taking money but then the goal is the piracy and fun interactions in an of themselves.
The actual selling of the loot at the end is almost a take it or leave it eventually.
"Without the incentive of taking riches away from your opponents, the whole experience feels a bit shallow."
I know a ton of pirates who disagree and would sink a ship for no reason at all, obtaining no treasure, supplies, and almost sinking their own ships like it was a thing to do. Do you have any idea how many sloops I have lost to people who have nothing better to do than to sink a random cosmeticless ship flying a white flag? I don't and I was there.
I had a similar experience too, I was just doing the pirate life tall tale, and while I was at the bottom of the ocean at the bottom far corner of the map I had respawned just in time to see some random chump rushing down into the bottom of my sloop lighting up one of those mega kegs.
I managed to escape just in time and rushed back in to start repairing but once they had respawned too, they rushed back over to spawn camp me while another blasted my sloop with cannons.
There was quite literally nothing on my ship for them to have gone through all that effort to sink it, like they went out of their way to b-line to a random little empty sloop at the bottom corner of the map and wasted a mega keg to try and sink it.
I'm still baffled by it but also like.. geeze how much of a wussy sweaty pirate do you gotta be to put in that much effort against an empty ship that can't fight back
@@HyenaBlank People like to PvP, and for some people PvP is the only thing they _like_ about the game.
They'll sail across the Sea of Thieves, through the Devil's Shroud, past the Shores of Gold and well back into the rest of the Caribbean just to sink your ship.
They don't even care if they lose. They just want to kill.

Nothing wrong with not wanting to fight all the time, but people actively looking for victims will fuck up a white flag ship anytime anyday.

This guy going to battle with two skeleton ships and another player while 2 Volcanos we’re erecting that sounds like something that would be in a pirates of the Caribbean movie
I was surprised at the amounts, 3.5x value given I think and that was before any emissary. Sadly though, I was only on for a short time solo slooping when the day before we had a 5 bar reaper ship killing it. If only we had done that a day later. Oh well. It was still good.
hey! not to sound patronising or anything but a small tip i would give is not to leave your anchor down when you are parking, since otherwise it can take too long to raise and let you escape. if you raise your sails fully you will stop moving soon after your ship drifts to a halt. when you're on an ashen island sometimes the tremors can make it drift a bit further out to sea, but I think it's worth risking that over taking the 5 second penalty to raise your anchor. maybe i'm being dumb and there's a specific reason you did it though, in which case please don't hesitate to let me know how dumb i am. really enjoyed the video!
Yeah that was a blunder on my part. The tremors made my ship drift away when I had perfectly parked it and I got annoyed. I figured "Oh well, nobody attacked me so far, surely it's gonne be fine to just anchor."
Boy was I wrong..

once there was a golden glory event + another gold bonus event(cant remember what) + the grade 5 emissary flag bonus.We got 75k for a ashen wind skull alone

The most profitable items IMO to sell on Community Day are OOS Skulls. 5x w/ a grade 5 oos emissary will net about 35-55k PER SKULL! Happy sailing Pirates!

this shows how good community day is me and my friends stacked ashen vaults for 10 hours and made 600k and he spent 1 hour and made the same
I never thought to do half the stuff you did here. How does the merchant thing you did at the start work?
You raise a Merchant Emissary Flag and then you can buy commodities from the Merchant lady. If you have the cash, you can buy resource crates which increase your Emissary level and by the time you went through 6 outposts buying all the commodities and supplies, you should be somewhere around Rank 4. Sell a few commodities to get Rank 5 and bam-- Sell everything else for max profit!

I ran grade 5 reaper and sold around 3.5 mil in one session. Only had time for an hour and a half unfortunately. Tons of fun combat tho

i just went on a reaper brig and i got like 3 million but i did get really lucky even with all the people grinding i sunk a gall with a bunch of loot near the end of rush hour

Interesting the way you use Merchant alliance. I've always been a Gold Hoarder emissary, but now that I see merchants are interesting aswell. Are those trade routes you were doing, right? did you buy everything and went on to a specific route to sell all your loot? Keeping them organized in your ship or something like that.
I'm just asking because I've never done trade routes and it looks profitable and you're good at it so the best person to ask. Thanks in advance
Trade routes are about the only thing I do as a merchant alliance emissary, and if you get to grade 5 emissary status you can rack up quite a fortune even without the gold and xp boosts that we had on community day. You just need to learn the routes and you’ll be set

I was only able to get onto the community event for a combined total of 4 hours and finished a single thieves run before it ended. I maybe made 150k.
Complete let down of a community event where I couldn't connect for the vast majority of it
Yeah the servers issues were very obnoxious
@@CliffTheStoryGuy should have legit just rescheduled it to beef the servers up. I couldn't even talk to the different npcs when I was able to finally log in so couldn't even get the 10k packs of gold for that easy coin.
They'll learn from it. There will be more community days. (and TBH, the gold wasn't really the point of the community day).

i got attacked all day on Community Day. Was quite annoying having a 4 person gally attack a solo sloop that is parked at an island digging. I dont understand why you wouldnt just alliance all day, get EVEN MORE gold and then attack other days. Whatever, i get it, its a pirate game but 4 vs 1 attacks are cheap and cowardly in this game.
I avoided community day since I knew there was gonna be a lot of players on and I have methods to get a lot really easily that most people forget (I’m not gonna tell any of u if ur wondering)

Personally I understand the want to gain loot, but I only play for the pvp. Loot is nice but ennecessary due to the lack of cosmetics available for more than 100k gold.

I like to see a video of you not narrating everything you’re doing but actually showing in game communication especially when you’re verse PVP because when people do that you actually get the real vibe of that player are they a whiny person do they complain a lot or are they as happy go lucky as they are narrating the film.
