December 2023, This video is very helpful in many ways. I found that I wasn't too far off with the ingredients. Pumice is hard to find locally, so I opted for chunky perlite. The local nursery owner even stated that it was hard to find even for him. I grabbed Miracle Gro Tropical Potting Mix- what is available at the Home Depot and Lowe's here in Lynchburg, VA. I'll have to decrease my soil amount and increase on the bark. Thank you Gena. Very helpful video👏👍🪴
I'm so glad!!!! Perlite works great too. The only reason I prefer pumice over perlite is that it's less dusty. The perlite dust really bothers me...makes me sneeze. Also it bothers my cats. They'll start sneezing from it. So I avoid it when possible. Thank you for watching!!!! :)
Gina a great video again and, you doubled your subscribers this month. I know your going to hit the top to ! I bet your husband is so proud of you, is he your camera man ? I went to see my son in Hawaii, and the lady that cleans my house killed 1/2 my Hoyas. I was gone 2 months, I have some in a prop box, seeing if I can revive some sticks. Some were in self watering pots bone dry 😋 😪 😒 😕 😐
Thank you!!!!! I actually produce the whole thing myself but my husband and son certainly cheer me on!!!! I’m so sorry to hear that about your Hoyas 😭. Hopefully you can bring some back! I bet two months in Hawaii was fabulous! I’ve never been there and would love to one day 🙂.
I’ve heard of people using that! My local pet stores are totally out of it lately. I’ve been wanting to see what it looks like in person. Good to know!!!! 😊
I’m so happy to hear that, thank you!!!! Vacations are typically only a week long for us since we have two cats, a fish tank, and many plants! I have someone come in to care for the cats and fish but I always just make sure the plants are watered myself before leaving. They do fine alone for just a week 🙂.
I seem to remember reading it was in there. That sounds familiar. It’s fantastic soil for your plants even if it’s not in there. Very high quality 😊😊😊. You’ll love it and your plants will too 💚💚💚. Happy weekend!!!!
Thanks so much for subscribing! I only water the newly potted plant if the plant was dry before the transfer. If it was recently watered and the old soil is still wet or moist, I wait. Hopefully that makes sense 😊.
Hi! I get those at my local garden shop. That’s the only place I’ve seen them. You might be able to find them online though. Unfortunately I removed the stickers ( if they had them) so I don’t have a brand name to give you.
Hi! I use horticultural charcoal. I usually buy it locally but haven't been able to find it recently so I picked up a bag from Amazon. @@dianecaruthers966 it’s my understanding that worm castings is just worm poop. That shouldn’t have caused you to have a lot of worms. Unless it’s an attractant for them. Earthworms in the garden are great, earthworms in your houseplant pots, not so much lol.

I use Repti Bark from the pet store. It is small pieces of bark which I like much better.

I'm waiting for my Fox Farm soil right now. Great hint about the charcoal! 🙂
Does the Fox Farm soil have worm castings?

I live in Canada 🇨🇦 so it's taking a little longer for delivery.
I’m a new subscriber. Loved your video and seeing your soil mix for Hoyas. Question: Do you water after repotting? Thank you. 💚🌿🪴🌱💚

Where did you get your little terra cotta pot? It’s looks rounder than the usual ones.

Do you ever end up with worms in your potted plants? 😒
What kind of worms? Like earth worms? I don't. But I could see that happening to potted plants outdoors if they are on the ground.
@@ThePinkTrellis Lol. Yeah. I used something with worm castings in my garden and ended up with tons of worms. I do not want them in my houseplants. 🤣🪱
