Girl you would love the Mothers perlite #3 is amazing and chunky and don’t float to the top I love it when I can’t get pumice because pumice can be pricey
@@TayaMcGee haha me Too it’s literally bigger then my 7 year old , I’m 5’4 and it’s almost as tall as me and very thick! Worth every penny when going with this size for sure
I used to have the issue that I love my plants so much, I always wanted to take care of them and I just love watering my plants, which inevitably ended up in a lot of molding. I then started to aerate my plants' soil, clean their leaves and actually just admire their beauty and talk to them, when I felt the urge to care for them. Now I have barely any time left for my plants, since college is so stressful, but it's winter anyway, so it's actually good, that I don't have the capacity to think about them as much
They really are! I'm even more excited to finally care for them and by doing so also care for me. Ugh it feels so good and I somehow am so much more blown away by their beauty these days. I'm lovin it ^^
I've been feeling the same way! I feel like I'm getting so much growth right now despite it being darker. It's like my plants are telling me to keep my head up!
Love love worm castings. I usually top dress with it when I repot. I agree with some ignoring of plants isn’t a bad thing. Fussed over my Epipremnum pinnatum albo outside all summer. Brought it in for the winter and forgot about it for 2 or 3 weeks and it grew 2 new growth points and put out 2 fenestrated leaves. I didn’t have any fenestrations until then. Crazy.
Worm casting can be great BUT, you have to be careful because unless the company making the worm pop is feeding the worms the nutrients / micro and macros we don’t know what kind of nutrients our plants are actually getting which can be tough. I never thought of it until a master grower in the Uk did a whole video on it which was cool
I needed this video because my potting mix is to dense, some of the root systems are not growing well. Added this video to my planty care list. Thanks for the tip! 👍
Needed this type of video! I’m planning to repot my new monstera albo this weekend and I wanted to pot it in my multiple amendment substrate but I don’t have the means for it right now so… underwatering (kind of) it is lol.
Great video! You can use pumice for “big” perlite. I started recently and really like it. It doesn’t break down like perlite does over time. It’s kinda spendy tho. Btw, I want to see how your scindapsus does after that repot. I think repotting my exotica was it’s downfall. I went to large in the pot. Yours looks great, I’m excited to see how it grows!
I've heard that about pumace too! I just need to nut up and buy some lol. I'll definitely give updates on that guy in the future. It's been about a week n a half and it's doing great so far! 🤞

Oo okay I'll check that out!! I'd be interested in seeing how similar the chunky perlite and pumice act
Love mother perlite, I accidentally ordered the giant bag… They will bury me with this bag I swear 😂

@@planttherapii definitely let me know best I’ve found yet at this size .
Haha I'm sure you'll go through it! I'll so some searching n see what i can find...maybe a slightly smaller size 🤣
Love your positive thinking. Stay blessed 😊
Thank you!! 😍

Exactly! Now that you're in school and it's kind of yucky hopefully your plants will be a nice source of comfort 😊

That's so awesome your plant grew so crazy after ignoring it for a while!
Ohh wow that makes so much sense! I'll have to do some more looking into what I'm using. Thank you so much for sharing this!!

I'm so glad you found it helpful!! ☺️
My mix is very similar I just don’t use the potting mix. Bark, charcoal, perlite, worm castings. Great video! 💚🌿
Thanks! I'd love to get away from potting soil one day, do you find you have less issues with pests or fungas gnats??

Oh yay!! Haha try not to stress too much. Easier said than done tho right! I'm sure your plant will be fine til you can repot it!
I didn't want to mix my own soil at first, but I kind of had to, when the soil I bought from the store always started molding and I got tired of it
Yess!! The mold! I was so confused why that was happening for so long

Hahaha I'm exactly the same with perlite. I always go pretty heavy on it and I only end up holding my breath, cuz I'm too lazy to put on my mask xD
Haha I'm glad I'm not alone 😅
