I'd rather play Megaman X6 than Sonic 06. Yes, X6 is tedious and insane with its level difficulty, numerous grammatical errors and retarded stage design but its not glitchy and the controls aren't fucked beyond recognition like it is in Sonic 06. Simply Put: X6 is the lesser of two evils.
I'd play X7 instead. Over Sonic '06 and X6. The only thing I really don't like about X7 is Axl's voice acting. Its so cheesy, whiny and trumps Zero's dramatic Scene in X4 when Iris dies after Zero defeats her.
Kinda funny how every villain wants to make a world only for Reploids, and now that Humanity is on the brink of extinction they piss away the opportunity by chasing ghosts. Just finish the job, Gate! No need to use the Nightmare, just use your gun!
I really wish they'd done something different about x6's powerup parts. Like if you fail to rescue the reploids they should stay infected, but if you kill them they drop a nightmare soul that contains the powerup, but you don't get the health upgrade and 1up that you would otherwise. (Yeah its kind of a 1 sided choice but it'd also be a moral choice element) Also you'd be able to at least get every part, and maybe level up your rank a little faster...
Editing out the load times must be so serious. Most people don't bother and I won't say it diminishes the playthrough, you pretty much expect it, but editing them out like Clement does is a nice little detail that really shines. Thanks for the effort Clement, they don't call you great for nothing.
This was my first ever Megaman game I ever played about 6 or so years back, this was the first stage I tried too! I didn't know a thing about what was going on and who was who, I got about 5 enemies in to the level before quitting and trying the Snow wolf (can't remember the name) I got to the boss and just quit, didn't bother with Megaman again till this year, but now I'm absolutely in love with all the games
I realize that this is an old LP, but I think I have an idea as to how the Nightmare system works. The first level will never have a nightmare effect. However, depending on the maverick you beat, a new effect comes into play. If the space is red, there will be two nightmare effects but the nightmares in the level will drop the nightmare souls again. I grasped this from my playthrough over the summer, just wanted to tell you.

Nightmare Phenomenons are activated by playing through certain Maverick Bosses' stages and will not cause that Phenomenon on its own stage, and the features are linked to the characteristics of the Maverick Boss whose stage is needed to activate this. Note that, there can't be 2 Nightmare Effects in a single stage.

That was a reference to X5, where Sigma mixup two different virus to create the "Zero Virus". Since Gate created the "nightmare" is not related with Sigma, Sigma is not manipulating Gate in any form.
I've not played the nightmare version of this stage since I played it first as well, but it's pretty easy. I remember thinking MMX6 couldn't be that bad after playing through just this level. Now, bring on the pain!
Last bit, in Megaman X5, there is a time paradox where you can prevent Eurasia from ever hitting the earth. of course you can COMPLETELY IGNORE every level by shooting off the cannon prematurely, and then making Zero commit stupid-cide
My brother beat this game during 13 years old at 2002, its not a tough game as u describe, but its kinda tough to beat the gams if u don know how to collect all the armor , but u can unlock zero easily, and zero is really strong in x6, so my brother used zero to beat the game and get the code after credit, and we found out more the life, sub tank and the armor as well. And we only know few english cause we r malaysian chinese , so all the clue that alia or signal to us is useless cause we dk english when are young
I just realized this recently, but the Blade and Shadow Armor just screams Fridge Logic. How convenient that Dr. Light developed two armors that enhances the Z-Saber, you know, just in case X becomes friend with a guy who owns a laser sword and that he might take said laser sword in the event that friend dies. You can never be too sure.

Actually I don't think anyone in the history of the universe has ever thought expressing an opinion that betrayed an intimate knowledge of Megaman would make them seem "cool". Lets just put it this way: going on about how much you know about Megaman and pining for the good old days before X6 came along and "sold out" is about the easiest way I can think of to prevent yourself from ever getting laid.
If I remember correctly the grasshopper enemy in Commande Yammark stage can be killed permantly. The first time you "kill" them it just turn into a hologram but they die when you kill them the second time (after they turn back into a grasshopper again).

Y'know I first played this when I was 7...and AH BEAT IT! This is why I can say I'm a nerd... I liked this game, but that's because of my suicidal gaming nature. Still you raise a point about the godawful game story, which I hardly paid attention to.
I thought you could press a button to do some super explode-y nuke kind of move that fills the screen and kills everything in this game? or was that another x game?
The only thing that really pisses me of in this game is how slowly it is possible to grind for nightmaresouls with Zero without getting that spinning attack, to get some extra souls from Dynamo. With X I can do this no problem as soon as I completet the shadow armor and equipped the ultra charged shot - chip and at least the jumper or dash - chip. Also some certain parts of the stagedesighn in Ground Scaravitch or what ever fuck his name is, stage (and the 2nd of the final stages - BUT it CAN be done with the shadow armor...) But all in all this game isn´t TOO ad, once you´re getting the hang of how the nightmaresystem works (including the reapperence of nightmaresouls from those nightmareenemies and yes I managed to reach 9999 souls with both X and Zero once, took me a hard ass time..)

one thing good going for x6 is that it gives you the falcon armor from the first level granted you cant get the better armor until you find every part
