- The 5th and last Mega Man X game in the series is here! Or rather, it would've been the last in the series. But I digress. So join me as I go through this playstation gem in which Mega Man X and Zero must once again fend off the evil Sigma. The entire intro level's in this part.

A few videos later and he's defeated all of the mavericks without a scratch, got all the upgrades and secrets, and aced every level. They don't call you the GREAT Clement for nothing. Don't be so modest.

halfs damage
allows for gliding
and lets you charge your buster faster with a lingering effect

2nd favorite of the series, mainly because I love how the story of X and Zero fated to battle each other really builds up in this game with the sigma virus consuming reploids and then the Zero virus consuming the reploids, leading up to the fated battle of the hunters, and the final battle with Sigma( well if it was the final battle.) Plus, I might get some complaints for this, but I wouldn't mind if the X series ended with this game.
The X series was supposed to end with this game. That's what Inafune said anyway because he was about to start work on the Mega Man Zero series. Capcom, obviously, had other intentions.
I feel so dirty for saying this but X5 is my favorite MegamanX game. Its just my opinion.

When people wanted the X series to end so that they wouldn't have to rewrite the opening of Mega Man Zero, Capcom didn't care. Now that people want more games in the original series, legends series, star force series, etc., Capcom still hasn't made them and actually canceled Legends 3. WTF, Capcom.

I can imagine X doing Mega Man's get a weapon pose from MM3 and he gets equipped with Top Spin (oh god,not Top Spin)
This is actually my favorite X game. I love how it controls, the story, the way it looks and the music.
Legendary415 - If you choose X to play the opening stage, you get the Fourth Armor at the start. If you choose Zero to play the opening stage, you get the Z-Buster for Zero, but I don't really use the Z-Buster much so I recommend starting the game with X.
Also, why get each Mega Man X game individually when you can get MMX1-MMX6 all in 1 disc in the Mega Man X Collection for PlayStation 2 and GameCube (and there is also a bonus Mega Man game on the collection for completing MMX1-X3 that was unreleased outside of Japan)? PS2 version of the X Collection is quite cheap online (it's like $10-15 on Amazon) but the GameCube version can be quite expensive ($40+) since it's more rare, but I manage to get a GameCube copy of the X Collection on Amazon for about $37 before its priced raised up.
Sadly though Axl was a awesome character. Great design and alot of potential. Seeing as Capcom has given new Mega Man games the shaft, id kill for a Mega Man X HD Collection. X4 to X6 maybe with a HD revamp?
X5 is not only my favorite X game but it's one of my favorite games of all time. Just a great game.

Actually, there is another difference in the character you choose at the opening... if you choose X, he'll start off with the 4th armor, as shown in the video; if you choose Zero, he'll have the Z-Buster available to him.
The one thing I don't like about playing with multiple characters in X5, X6 and X7 is that you need to split resources (read: health upgrades) between them, which I find VERY annoying.

Welcome back, Clement! I've wondered what this game was like.
First game a friend let me have I was in love with this
I loved x5 i still have it. I especially loved the intro music and the intro as well as the bosses. I was surprised how much i missed playing this game...
my first and favorite x game! oohh fyi, you can go to the options menu during game play by pressing start and going to the two green buttons on the bottom left. click the top one.once there, you can put on auto charge/rumble feature/and rapid shot. makes the game much easier! still your aswsome man!
This was my first megaman game. Seeing the statue head transform scared the shit out of me the first time I saw it as a kid. I still don't think i've beaten it.
But X gets the 4th armor only if you play as X in the intro

When I first played this game, I didn't know you could duck, and that boss killed me so many times!
If there is one thing I really enjoy about X5, it's that they upgraded X to be on par with Zero with his different armor-sets.
It's interesting that Zero teleports with his arm laying on the ground. I think it really would stay where it was when he teleports around.
"This fancy intro" is my alarm clock ringtone everyday which gives me 15secs of soft music b4 its wakes the shit out of me with the generic rock XP

So let me get this straight, this is kinda like Megaman 10 + Sonic Adventure 2 in a Megaman X Form cause of the sigma virus, like the roboenza virus, making normal robots turn evil, and the space colony heading towards earth, like the space colony ARK did

Glad to see your Mega Man-athon is back on. I've been playing through all of the Mega Man games myself and beat this one yesterday. I was surprised to hear you rank it at #3 in the series. I found a lot of this game's gimmicks and level design to be pretty annoying, and from what I've played of X6 it's going to get worse.
Honestly, if I was part of Capcom, I would hire you to do most the voices! ESPECIALLY: Dynamo; It's perfect!
I find it very good. I enjoyed both the 3d and the 2d aspects of the game.
I remember I had one play through I just decided to fire the cannon immediately, without getting any of the parts for it, and somehow it actually worked. Took me by surprise because most of the time I had to get all the parts for the shuttle to do it.
Since the first time I played this game when I was 6, I always thought that Zero was doing the splits during the Sigma fight. Now I can clearly see that his arm is on the ground next to his leg. Apple 1, Magnavox 0!!
Am I the only one who thinks that Clement does a great evil voice for Sigma? haha

Hey Clement I'm not sure if you know this but whenever you choose who to play as after you start a new game if you press up twice and down nine times while on X you'll actually get the Ultimate Armor. Same for Zero except you press down twice and up nine times

First time I played this, I got to the crusher level and couldn't figure out for the life of me how to get by one part. Had been playing for a few hours and accidentally hit the down button. I was so surprised by the ducking that I ended up dying anyway lol

I think the reason why there were no anime cutscenes in this game because Capcom probably didn't have enough money or the proper equipment or something like that to make the cutscenes in the game. Whatever the reason Keiji probably had reasons why it didn't had cutscenes.
