There hasn't been a moment in time in over a decade since I fell in love with Whitechapel, that I thought to myself WTF are they doing to thier music? Cyndi Lauper once said "If you're lost, you can look and you will find me. Time after time." There's a reason we keep tuning in and this rings true, Whitechapel simply cannot be dethroned!!! What GOATS! BE SEEING YOU GUYS SATURDAY, MOON TOWNSHIP, PA!!!
Heard Phil talking about pushing the vocals extra hard this album, was surprised to hear him talk about how the unhinged nature of Orphans vocals inspired him. You can tell he’s pushing the envelope. Super fucking dope.
Boy Phil wasn't lying when he said they were traveling back to their heavier side! Never once have I been disappointed by Whitechapel but DAMN boys brought the absolute 🔥 from hell with this banger.
This is the heaviest this band has done and they are back to claim their deserved throne. This band is one of the best in metal of this generation and you can't prove me otherwise.
@@iambrowntown2this is crazy. I remember when I was 15 years old and played This is Exile on an illegal music website and it blew me away when he did those fast rap growls. I love that this band is still around and hasn't abandoned their sound like let's say Bring me the Horizon who sound completely different today
I know people loved Kin and The Valley, and while I appreciate a lot of what they achieved on those albums, this is certainly more what I like hearing when I want to listen to Whitechapel.
Oh yeah. I'm unsure how to describe this sound other than "dirty". The Valley and Kin were works that cleaned up one after another, which was good but a different sound. Hope we get a bit of both though in the upcoming stuff.
I don't know how to explain it, I don't even listen to this style, but every few years I come across a new single by this band and I feel like it's exactly what I was looking for. Such was the case with Doom Woods, which is still one of my favorite metal tracks I've ever heard. And now I think I have a new contender to get on my favorite songs playlist.
I think this track is truly at the pinnacle of the deathcore genre. I love the variety of sounds and techniques in Phil's vocals. The video and your guys' visual performance is absolutely top notch for this one too.
Dudes this is ridiculously heavy and badass. So stoked to hear this next album. I know they said they were taking it back to the beginning but I hope that actually doesn’t mean ridding the clean vocals completely and I almost thought KIN went a little overboard with them but I am digging more songs that have a mixture of both guttural and cleans though of course no complaints with this new song whatsoever , oh hell na.🤘They write some of their best material with Phil doing both and how he pulls it off live is amazing. Dude isn’t using backing tracks and to me is still the best vocalist in the scene, my opinion. I’m sure this video is going to be rad. I don’t think Whitechapel even knows how to drop a bad music video.🤘💀🤘🎸
@@mshaieokuniewicz894 Well after the amount of it on KIN I can see why and won’t get no complaints from me as I own and dig every single Whitechapel EP and LP. I am a fan of everything they have ever released. 🤘
Crazy. I was literally thinking, last Friday, “I hope Whitechapels working on something new” and bam. They were, have, and I’m here for it. Sick. And it’s heavy? Rad.
I remember when I first listened to, not just metal, but stuff like this. The visceral nature of it attracted me immediately and you guys were one of the first bands I heard. I haven't stopped listening since, and I thoroughly enjoyed the time when you tried to branch out. This isn't just a return to Somatic Defilement to me, this is a culmination of the work you've guys been doing the whole time. Much love, fantastic song, can't wait til I see you live.
@@dlaird88this is whitechapel if Phil wanted to tell stories of himself he could've did a solo album.... nothing wrong with doing different things but this is what gave them a name and this is the band I remember seeing with my kids... brutal as it should be
This song and video made me feel a way I cannot describe. Brought tears to my eyes and myade me feel warm and cozy. Damn I love metal. Thanks again White Chapel.🖤🤘🏼
The concept is amazing, thank you for the description. I love that super dark-gore-horror-whatever you wanna call it. Right up my alley, and yeah, I was totally that 17 year old who was listening to Somatic Defilement in 2007
Frontman Phil Bozeman says of this track; "The song is disturbing. Imagine being put in a situation of survival by gluttonous, mammoth demons that give you a choice. Eat the demons’ waste, eat each other, or starve to death. The twist, you’re against the people you love the most. It’s a way to find the ones that are truly evil people to build and strengthen their cult. It also represents how horrible people can really be, when push comes to shove.”
Bro i really love the calm and deep feeling in the valley and kin albums, but i miss a lot the raw and power of the band, phil’s voice is in another level
I miss this iconic whitechapel so bad. glass breaking highs, insanely low gutterals. fuck. this made my day. I hope they make an album sounding this way again in the future..
I really appreciate how they evolved for the last two albums. Especially so Phil could purge that personal stuff. Love the old, love the new, love this.
Idk why everyone is saying “Whitechapel is back.” They never left. Y’all just chose to hate. This new track is fucking insane. The undisputed kings of deathcore came out swinging with this one.
I did somewhat enjoy their later stuff, but there is just something different about their first several albums. While their later stuff was pretty epic and I even came to like Phil's clean vocals (though I thought he used them too often after a while), I'm really looking forward to a return to straight brutality.
I'll say it if nobody else is going to, they got soft. I loved this band so much during their first 3 albums i got a tattoo. I'm not a fan of clean vocals in death metal, metal core, etc. This song is refreshing to say the least.
@@domsnow6418 Don't forget Bloodborne and Elden Ring too! There's a surprising amount of Elden-Ring themed deathcore as of late and every band doing it hit harder and faster than Malenia's waterfowl dance.
I've been a fan for a long time. First time seeing them was in January 2008, and I was blown away. I had to get The Somatic Defilement special ordered from Silver Platters in Seattle, because the CD was hard to find back then, then I saw them again at Studio Seven in Seattle opening up the 2008 Summer Slaughter Tour in July, met the band and got The Somatic Defilement and This is Exile signed and 16 years later I still have those albums. It's really good hearing those vibes again on this song, it was truly missed for a long time.
To see this band progress how they have has been a treat. kin and the valley hit my heart so hard and then the pull back to OG chapel is such a treat, never stop killing shit boys! kings of metal forever
Jesus Christ…rewatched 20 times…fucking back baby!! Loved the more experimental stuff too. But this harkens back to when I first heard them back in like 2010. Heavy as fuck. Made my day
Phil being one of the OG's with extreme vocals, pioneering what everyone would take and run with, coming back to the fold he basically made happen sounding better than he ever has, is unbelievably inspiring. Pioneers throughout their entire journey, setting a wonderful example. Huge props to the entire band. What an amazing song and achievement. I could not be more jazzed for the future.
That was the most insane things I have heard on earth

That's awesome. Orphans is so slept on. Fantastic band.
@@To-attempt-too agreed, the first half of that first record is a fucking freight train. Unfortunate more people haven’t heard it.
@@FFadeaway Are you guys talking about the band that made that song Hourglass?
@@KingOvGaleria yep. Specifically their first album, Porcelain.
Boy Phil wasn't lying when he said they were traveling back to their heavier side! Never once have I been disappointed by Whitechapel but DAMN boys brought the absolute 🔥 from hell with this banger.
Took me 14 years to actually look forward to new Whitechapel. I have never in my life heard them sound better than this.
This is the heaviest this band has done and they are back to claim their deserved throne. This band is one of the best in metal of this generation and you can't prove me otherwise.
This generation? They've been going for like 3 generations of deathcore at this point. Still strong
@@VeritabIlIti2 years until a 20th anniversary tour.. unreal how fast time flies
@@iambrowntown2this is crazy. I remember when I was 15 years old and played This is Exile on an illegal music website and it blew me away when he did those fast rap growls. I love that this band is still around and hasn't abandoned their sound like let's say Bring me the Horizon who sound completely different today
Where were you in 06?
The Somatic Defilement is 1000x heavier than this
I know people loved Kin and The Valley, and while I appreciate a lot of what they achieved on those albums, this is certainly more what I like hearing when I want to listen to Whitechapel.
Did I just hear an 8-stringer in the intro? Welcome back gentlemen.
Pretty sure that’s still G! So should be 7
Sounds really like F# to me
But all the guys in video play 7-strings
It could be pitchshifted or tuning is really with F# on 7th string
@@MAV2105Probably baritone 7 stringers. Sounded like F# to me also.
@@MACARONIEMANIAC Yeah a digital pitch shift could be going on too. I swear that last dive was an 8.
It is definitely possible they’re pitch shifting though if it isn’t G, they’re running Quad Cortex now instead of Kemper
NEW WHITECHAPEL ALBUM THIS YEAR!!?
Yes😈😈😈
@@porshatagtgren7617 You mean, FUCK YES!
Most likely next year.
@@MoSweiti666well that confirms that I guess
2025! At least we got this gem to hold us over!
I think this track is truly at the pinnacle of the deathcore genre. I love the variety of sounds and techniques in Phil's vocals. The video and your guys' visual performance is absolutely top notch for this one too.
His lows are actually ridiculous. PhillyBo has always been known for them but FUUUUCK are they nuts on this track.
The man dug deep and definitely found some rewards 🤘🏻
Best Whitechapel song in years tbh
Agree
Accurate, since they haven't made a new song in years
I don't know how many times I need to listen to this track before you release some more Whitechapel but I'll just keep going and going.
There will be no clean vocals on the next album. Its 100% back to the roots. I saw someone asking about this on Instagram and Phil responded to it
The cleans need to go
Pretty generic deathcore...was expecting more.
@@hugostiglitz5798yeah I’m with you. After Valley and Kin, I was hoping for more technical stuff but guess not.
@@mshaieokuniewicz894 Well after the amount of it on KIN I can see why and won’t get no complaints from me as I own and dig every single Whitechapel EP and LP. I am a fan of everything they have ever released. 🤘
Love the “new” old sound. Welcome back WhiteChapel
Pretty generic deathcore...was expecting more.
@@hugostiglitz5798 dude how many comments are you going to reply to with this bullshit? Touch grass.
@@hugostiglitz5798 Whitechapel is one of the originators of deathcore. They're partially responsible for that "generic" sound existing.
@@hugostiglitz5798Always someone 🙄
@@hugostiglitz5798 If anything, most modern dxc bands are generic, nice try though.
Crazy. I was literally thinking, last Friday, “I hope Whitechapels working on something new” and bam. They were, have, and I’m here for it. Sick.
And it’s heavy? Rad.
I’ve been a fan since The Somatic Defilement, and yes, I very much enjoy this. Excellent job, boys!
How's phil vocals getting better with every album? God damn. This is visceral
As a The Valley/Kin fan, I was suprised to not really like it but now I get it, it's a return to the roots ! I'm glad other fans enjoy it !
I need an og tour line up for this album
Whitechapel
All shall parish
Acacia strain
Winds of plague
And Impending doom
PLEASE
Poah that would be an absolute dream tour package for me personally! With OG winds?? Dayum
Missing carnifex and the first jfacb album in full
Old Rings of Saturn and The Red Chord would be cool too.
Absolute banger and I recognize these caves! This is where they filmed their music video for A Bloodsoaked Symphony
The way I giggled and smiled the whole time watching this. So heavy.
🤘
This is exactly what I’ve wanted to hear since New Era of Corruption came out, this is absolutely stellar
Phil been listening to the latest offerings to the Deathcore gods and was like, “cute. Hold my beer real quick.”
“You’d better not be down in a subterranean realm with a Wendigo getting brootal with the boys”
Me and the boys:
Lol fuck yeah
This comment just gave me 10 years of life
Hell yea brother
Can't wait for an acoustic version ❤
Travis Ryan approves! This is one of the best metal songs I've heard this year!!
I haven’t really liked a lot of recent Whitechapel but always kept paying attention for the day that they put something out like this again. 🙌🏾
WHITECHAPEL IS BACK
They never left
@@DylanJouglah-Shields I know but I like their early sound the best. But The Valley is great and I like some songs off Kin too
they never left
They never left Phil just had to tell you a few tales about himself
@@dlaird88this is whitechapel if Phil wanted to tell stories of himself he could've did a solo album.... nothing wrong with doing different things but this is what gave them a name and this is the band I remember seeing with my kids... brutal as it should be
This song and video made me feel a way I cannot describe. Brought tears to my eyes and myade me feel warm and cozy. Damn I love metal. Thanks again White Chapel.🖤🤘🏼
GREAT setting for a music video. I'm jealous.
🙌🏻🤘🏻 they’re back as the Whitechapel we know and love ! This song RIPS ! Cannot wait for it to be out officially tomorrow !
The concept is amazing, thank you for the description.
I love that super dark-gore-horror-whatever you wanna call it. Right up my alley, and yeah, I was totally that 17 year old who was listening to Somatic Defilement in 2007
Those highs @3:16 Jeezus Chrimbo it's like a hell spawn demon cry from the lake of fire.
It's beautiful
Let’s all thank Phil for doing this for us 😂I’m mind blown right now. And he said this is just scratching the surface is INSANE!!!
Incredibly accurate and controlled with two heavy long blades. Impressive swordsmanship 9n display here bro
thank you, Whitechapel, this is the thing we needed from you ❤
How did the cave not collapse? This was incredibly brutal!
truth!
haha xd
No speakers
Incredible!! So heavy!! They have become one of the best Death Metal bands for sure!!
It also represents how horrible people can really be, when push comes to shove.”
effed up
Phillybo back with the really twisted lyrics. He always had the ability to write really mean lyrics
what a calming thought
Wow. You literally quoted the description of this video. Good job. :|
meh. Its aight. I had a fart that was more disturbing this morning
1:14 hey man, might wanna get that check out
Bro i really love the calm and deep feeling in the valley and kin albums, but i miss a lot the raw and power of the band, phil’s voice is in another level
I miss this iconic whitechapel so bad.
glass breaking highs, insanely low gutterals. fuck.
this made my day.
I hope they make an album sounding this way again in the future..
This song is absolutely the best yet! Brutal as fuck they are back! 🤘🏼
I thought you guys were falling off and it actually upset me. This is incredible. Now i remember why you guys were my favorite band ❤
WhiteChapel is back and better then before
Than
Not that the boys were gone (imo) but the boys are back and more brutal than ever
I love the heavy stuff, but nobody will ever convince me Kin isn't an absolute masterpiece 🤷🏻
The valley was amazing, but they haven't released anything this heavy and brutal since their first 3 albums. Let's be honest here.
yes you do, this is different from their last stuff. no „chose to hate“, just different taste
0:26 - Dark Souls?
Manus
Dammit man, now I want a whole dark souls themed song by Whitechapel exactly in this style.
@@ethanlee9692 I‘m sure there will be more and more Fromsoft inspired music. Stuff is too metal for there not to be.
😂😂😂😂😂😂🔥⚔️🐲
What can be said? They’re the cornerstone for a reason. Need another reason? You’ve been given one.
To see this band progress how they have has been a treat. kin and the valley hit my heart so hard and then the pull back to OG chapel is such a treat, never stop killing shit boys! kings of metal forever
Phil to the deathcore community... "Daddy's Home."
2:23 my goodness thats some rude vocals made me hit rewind lol 🔥🤘
Wow!! Best song they have done in YEARS!!!!! welcome back boys 🤘
