I learnt to drive in this car. Now I have my licence and need a car on a tight budget, i cry thinking of missing out on such incredible, fundamental features that this model has. The digital speedo was a lifesaver. I could just flick my eyes down momentarily to check where I'm at, the beautifully intuitive handling and acceleration, and the all-round user friendly controls. I was never confused nor felt out of my depth in this vehicle. I controlled IT, and it didn't control me.

You gave this beautiful car the review it deserves. I bought the JCW Mini Cooper Coupe. Getting into the car feels as if I'm stepping into Heaven.

I have the 2015 cooper 3 door hatch and have to agree with the comment regarding the rear seats…. Barely able to accommodate children and the overall storage is minimal, can’t fault the handling and looks and the fuel economy is impressive!

I’d love one of these but it looks like you’d have to be hoisted out it after a long journey

Are Windows good for stoping car sicknes?

William A-D Yes, especially the front one. I can't look away for too long as a passenger, or I will inevitably become nauseous. You need to be able to see right out the front where you're going, as to not confuse your inner ears (where motion sickness originates).

Jon: Your review of this car omits anything about how it FEELS to DRIVE it; while full of "consumer" info, the review just sounds like a BMW marketing promo soundbite. But then that is what is happening in the auto industry: like smartphones, cars have ceased to be designed around the experience of driving. Instead, the all-important consideration is "how entertaining" is the dashboard, and "how personal" can you make it. So while your review is maddeningly generic (at least to me), it is probably what more viewers want: a list of what's "new", b/c we all know that "new" is always better, right?

It's a BMW, so obviously it handles well and is fun to drive, it goes without saying
Like people take these ninis to track days, I don't see people doing that with original Mr Bean mini's

We here in the US don't share your enthusiasm for the new F-platform car, mostly b/c it isn't "mini" anymore. "Chubby" is a euphemism for "bland, bloated and anonymous". We say that BMW have "eff'd up" the car. Its clear that they (BMW) have abandoned the appeal to drivers in the attempt to attract buyers who actually just want a car with lots of flashing LED's-essentially a car that apes an iPad. The Mini as we used to love it is dead. R.I.P.
