novation launchpad + squarp rample 90 bpm improvisation

- i wanted to try and use a custom layout on the launchpad pro to control the squarp rample. it worked. 7 bipolar faders are assigned to control pitch, filter, bit-depth, freeze, start and end points of the rample's 4 voices. the right collum on the launchpad is divided into "randomize voice" buttons on the top, and reset to default on the bottom.
this is a collection of edits from the experiment of surfing through rample presets and performing.
drums: vpme qd
effects: erica synth black hole dsp (mk 1)
sequencing: varigate 8+ and hermod
bass: joranalogue generate 3

Rample vs Sample Drum? Thoughts? Had my eye on Erica synth sample drum forever, but grabbed a Rample after watching you knock out breaks with the variegate and am loving it. Don’t know anyone else with both so I’m hassling you!
both have strengths and weaknesses. you can create custom kits on the fly and there's more cv modulation, effects, and visual feedback on the sample drum. the rample is easier to use, has more voices, and once you've prepared kits extremely "playable".
@@RedMeansRecordingModular this was my experience with the rample too. You looked like you were having so much fun with it and the direct order was so painless. I've been having a total blast with it and just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing out on too much with the Erica SD. Thanks Jeremy!
Can you trigger individual slices with one sample with CV or MIDI simultaneously as a gate being sent. Gates always seem to arrive before the cv modulation but i don't see any gate /trig delays in the Rample

both the rample the launchpad come with adapters to convert 3.5mm midi to midi DIN. get a midi cable and connect them with those adapters.
