    Hey Hans what a great review. Sat down and watched it all. You put some work into this and it really showed with your attention to detail and field testing. Loved the fabric fire test as I HAVE HAD A FEW CLOSE ONES... Doesn't take much for the fabric to disappear. I really liked your fabric tear testing too, all very original. I liked and appreciated to way you introduced my storm testing and the shots looked great. Thank you for the work that you put into this and I honestly really enjoyed it all.... Keep up the great work.. Tom

    Thanks for this in-depth review, it really helped me understand this is a great tent, but it's not for me, since I'll be camping mostly in sunny yet humid conditions. So thanks to you I'll avoid drowning in condensation :)

    Been waiting for this review. As you said I think this tent is for bad weather camping in high winds. Looking at the dimensions it’s also a 2 man and not a 3 man but I think the extra 200g for the extra space pushes it ahead of the shape 2 version. The main selling points for this tent for me is the large vestibule and the storm worthiness. I don’t think the weight is bad at all when these factors are taken into consideration when considering a 4 season tent. I have the Abisko View 2 which I love but it’s a heavy beast, and if it’s wet the door if you open it fully can let rain into the inner. however I know it can take a beating if required and it’s amazing build quality and ventilation are second to none. Thanks for the video.

      Hi kef9 - thanks for your comment and I agre in your points. I know its because of weight and to handle the wind better, that the hight of the inner tent is so low. The tent is 4 m long - only one small meter where you can sit upright, and I am not a tall person, just a little bit higher please.

    Thanks for a great review! I have the same tent for solo winter camps and when camping with my wife in snow free season. For 3 season solo camps I usually use Tarptent Stratospire 1. I went hiking to the Scandinavian mountains last summer and was really scared with my Stratospire when there was a storm with over 30 m/s gusts. Abisko is a really heavy tent for solo use, but it will still be my pick for next summer trip to Sarek, Sweden. Just in case…

    • @hanskirk-hiking9697
      @hanskirk-hiking9697  Рік тому +1

      Hi Juha thanks very muck for your comment .....is the Stratospire not a great tent, it is on my list! I guess it is really difficult to find a light 4 season tent, I have been searching for a long time - after I have seen Tom Heaneys review ,in stormy conditions, the Abisko tent series maybe the best option !

    • @jpnurminen
      @jpnurminen Рік тому +1

      @@hanskirk-hiking9697 Just to make it clear, I really like Stratospire! It has lots of room for a solo tent both in the inner tent and the two vestibules. I also love the head height of the Strat. It’s formfactor makes it a bit tricky to pitch in difficult places but It will get easier with practice. The only thing that I think is a little weakness comparing to a strong low tunnel tent is wind performance. Strat has quite big unsupported fabric panels and the height catches wind also. But speaking about last summers trip, I was scared because I had never been in the storm like that. The Strat did not get any damage but was flapping very violently. In the same time there was a couple of Abiskos next to me and one of them got a bent pole. So the weather was challenging whatever shelter you had.

    Hej Hans. Det var en super god gennemgang af teltet. Jeg er stor fan af Fjallraven og har også haft nogle af deres telte. Deres ting holder bare meget længe.Nu har jeg lige købt et telt fra Hilleberg, et Nallo 3.Det er jeg også meget glad for. God søndag.

    I was looking at getting the Hilleberg Nallo 3 or 4 GT, but I think I might just go for this one since both of my Hilleberg tents leaked in the rain.

      Hi Alex thanks very much - it’s crazy with the leaking Hilleberg tents - it’s no fun using seam sealer.
      Maybe you could contact Tom Heaney for some advice - Tom have a lot of Hilleberg tents ⛺️
      Fjallraven tents are surprisingly strong tents - and they are much cheaper and lighter than Hilleberg.
      Stay safe 😊

I would be happy, if you told about your own experience and what you wear in second layer, maybe fleece, maybe softshell, idk. I just found REI polartec powerstretch pro for only 50 dollars, and want to buy it in this role. Do you have any exp. with this material? Thanks!

      @hanskirk-hiking9697  Рік тому +1

      Hej Mark og tak for din kommentar 😊
      Big Agnes selvfølgelig - der er meget mere højde og plads inde i teltet.
      Fjellraven teltet er 4 m langt og kun i en lille meter kan man sidde oprejst.
      Der er heller ikke problemer med kondens og så vejer det ikke så meget.
      Men hvis det blæser er Fjellraven sagen 🏕️

    Thanks for this interesting review. I own what I believe to be the predecessor of this tent: the Abisko Lightweight (2p version tent). Seeing as they don't offer any information on their site anymore and even deleted their old video's about care for this tent from their official UA-cam Page, I hope maybe you can answer a question I've been having.
    I've owned the tent for around 9 years, but due to circumstances only used it 6 times in those 9 years. (Boy Scouts, always on a protected campsite and not really used in foul weather or crazy storms). But I had the tent poles break on me 2 times. Even though the second time, the pole came from a whole new set I ordered, and was not a repaired one. Do you have any experience on the DAC featherlite NSL poles being so easy to break? Last time they broke, it was while testing the tent during a rainy but almost windstill night to see if it was still waterproof after 2 years of being stored away. My wife is calling me crazy I payed 800 euro's for a tent (+ 200 euros for a replacement pole set) claiming that with the light camping we do, we'd better be off buying a whole new decathlon tent every year and coming out still cheaper. And I'm starting to believe her and lose faith in the Fjällräven brand...

    • @hanskirk-hiking9697
      @hanskirk-hiking9697  Місяць тому +1

      Hi no I have never heard about DAC poles breaking in these circumstances.
      I use DAC poles in many of my tents and once I broke one but that was in stormy conditions.
      Could the reason be that the elastic line holding the poles, becoming slaggy and not holding the poles properly together when raising the tent?

    • @MagisterGentis
      @MagisterGentis Місяць тому +1

      @@hanskirk-hiking9697 Thank you for your insight. The second broken pole came from a new set. So I would hope the tension cord inside the pole was in mint condition. I however will keep checked that all segments are tightly together. I don't think they offer official replacement poles for my tent anymore. Do you think I could replace the segment with a standard DAC segment? Otherwise I'm really stuck with an expensive but useless tent due to a pole breaking. Even though the tent fabric is literally still in perfect condition and waterproof...

    • @hanskirk-hiking9697
      @hanskirk-hiking9697  Місяць тому

      I am not sure that a new tent pole would fit your “old” version
      I would try to send Fjellraven a mail or repair it with a tent splint (it is included in the repair kit)
      I have made a video about it:

    27:03 That is absolutely not a problem, it is designed that way, like with any true 4 season tent. The reason for it is that the wind cannot blow snow into the tent.
