if someone is an uneducated empath, the idiot narcissist will see them as a thanksgiving dinner 365 days of the year. because they will continue to work to make the relationship work, when it was destined to fail, no matter how much effort was put forth.
there is nothing romantic or innocent about narcissism. unfortunately, you have to experience it to understand it. it’s all a disaster waiting to happen. only goes from fairytale to scary tale.

Not sure if i would refer to the narcissist as an idiot, more like a clever fox, stalking its prey. You are correct unless you experience these demons nothing is more abusive than to be entangled with a narcissist.

Spot on! Saying NO and sticking to it and being willing to walk away at any point when they break your boundaries is key. Pushing you and trying to break your boundaries is highly disrespectful and if someone doesn’t respect you they don’t love you and never will.
Danielle, I like how you pull no punches, you tell it like it is. When I got involved with my ex I was in a bad spot and vulnerable plus being a people pleaser. She knew the right things to say and do. That’s history and I’ve learned to make and *enforce* boundaries. It’s been a long lesson but I think I’m on the better side of it now.
Final act is - when KARMA EATS NARCS. IT is ugly. Very ugly.
Rarely happens. They typically skate through life unscathed. In fact more blessings bestowed upon these vampires I have witnessed. Hopefully they get it but rarely at best have i seen it.
@Den-pf5wz I've heard ao many stories to the contrary. And Ive seen so many experience the consequences of their actions. But it does take time. And helping delivering consequences ensures it.
I was so naive, so people pleasing, so raised not to set boundaries, or to say no, plus my insecurities, being an empath, issues I was prime game for the predator narcissistic, 40 years later, I am on to you!
It's so sad that so many good, kind, hard-working, positive people are snapped up by destructive predators. We would make excellent partners and great parents, and build wonderful families, if it were not for the narcissistic pulling us down at every turn. I was raised that if I was good, and kind, and sweet, and loving and trusting, I would attract a nice man who appreciated my goodness, and that we would get married and live happily ever after. NOPE. I was a sitting duck for a demon whose mouth was filled with lies. And the harder I tried to be perfect and wonderful, more more emotionally abusive he was.
Why can't I meet someone like you & enjoy minimally a friendship.

Great analogy that made me smile and laugh, I was that antelope. Still got the leg scars but healing every day. Everything you say is true. Now aware of the people pleasing trait and working on it. Thank you for posting.
The narcissist also looks for responsible and principled people, knowing they will be reliable and predictable, in addition to those other things. Because they know this type of person will strive to keep their commitments, won't judge the narcissist's behaviors too quickly trying to be reasonable, making it possible to string the prey along for the longest period of time, so "discarding" can be at the narcissist's timing.

@johnmaurer2035 I agree ,in some cases what you say may be true,but in many cases money is truly a root of much evil.
It shouldn't be that way, but people don't know how to control their desires and greed?
Just look at the medical/ medicine industry.
One chemo visit is 78,000 dol. when the medication is 28,0000? Someone is not being fare or equal?
No wonder drs in this country are giving out medication that is bad for us.
The system is wacked? This is only one of many examples?

I wish somebody would tell me about narcissism 20 years ago when I went hating myself, hating my parents, hating my ex.... and needed balance with finding reasonings, excuses and justifications for all of them... Damn, how much time and effort lost.... Only thing that is good - me and my children, we survived...
He stole a substantial amount of money from me right under my nose and completely denied it tried to gaslight me by saying I must have mistaken where I put it told him no I know exactly where I put it. Waited 2 weeks fir an apology nope now blocked him and deleted him went silent on him before blocked him today. They know exactly what they are doing personality disorder or not

I BORUGHT TH EMARCISSIT INSID E I WAS LOOKING FOR HOME REPAIR.
Yes I was very vulnerable for a variety of reasons. l knew after a few months she wasn't a woman I could trust ( she actually confessed her promiscuous behavior to me ) followed up by some bogus excuses... my brain knew...but my heart could not except...so I stayed and her behavior just got even worse...her lies n secrets were so obvious... frankly I'm not even sure ,she cared I knew they were lies...I actually suspect she enjoyed me knowing,yet staying... 3 years..I started to understand ( covert Narcissist) n PREDATOR.. it started to make sense...yes Sick but I understood...I slowly started to slip away...a slow 1 year process...7 months ago I spoke up 100% now I'm 100% no contact...my 1st full month was today ( 3/28/24 ) at 6:16am CT 😊
