I have finally recommended this band enough times to remember how to spell their name without double checking! Also 10/10 album after the last 10/10 album
Another masterpiece! Hardly waiting for a new album! If we would be blessed by at least one concert from Shylmagoghnar, I would be willing to travel to New Zaeland If I need to!
Really? That was 7 minutes? The first minute or two shocked me, I was definitely not expecting that, but I love how much energy it has and how it slowly turns into the classical Shylmagoghnar sound. November 10th can't come fast enough.
7 minutes is barely enough to get started! Ha yes I wanted to throw in something a bit industrial for a change, it connected well to the song before it on the album. I always enjoy experimenting with going from style to style like that, and it's great that this project allows creative freedom as long as it eventually returns to the core sound. I think that's something I'm going to keep developing for future albums :) Enjoy the full release once it's here!
@@Shylmagoghnaroh I just love this I love how it was filmed the length of it just the whole atmosphere I like it and it did feel like an old jam session. And you're one of the few bands that I love because you highlight your bass guitarist I love that I can't wait for the album to come out
@@greendragon4058 Thank you! That's one of the great benefits of doing everything by yourself imo. I love playing all of the instruments for different reasons, and bass guitar is just very enjoyable. It feels like there is generally more space between notes than on guitar, but that makes every note feel more important, weighty, and soulful. Even just a run of a couple of notes can make a huge difference in the vibe. So when I also happen to be in control of the camera, like on this video, I like to jump to the bass as much as possible when it's doing that stuff. Many people struggle to hear what the bass guitar is doing in metal, so by visualizing it I hope that it makes them more able to pick it out of the mix - and perhaps even getting excited about playing it themselves?
@@Shylmagoghnar you're amazing mate and glad you take your time to respond to people's comments, that shows how close you are to your music and to the people that enjoy it. Also pretty nice to see you on Nuclear Blast.
This is magnificent. I remember how I was totally struck the first time I heard "I am the Abyss". Since then, I'm totally caught. All you do is pure ART
Thank you! I think it's the natural result of feeling so strongly about something. This project has dragged me out of the mud so many times already, it feels like a soul companion to me. Whenever I work on it, it's with a lot of veneration and self-criticism (mostly the constructive kind).
Well well well. Shylmagoghnar is soooooo underated the sound is so deep since the first album. I really love this guy and the new album is like a blessing for my ears and soul. Clearly, one of my top 3 "bands" (well band in this case... I know...) with Finsterforst and Wintersun. Love u from France!
Yet another outstanding musical composition. This entire album is amazing. To my surprise and great delight, my Diehard bundle arrived a couple days early, yesterday. Man, that crystal clear vinyl is spectacular. That just might be the best forty bucks I have ever spent. Awesome job, Nim!
Thank you very kindly! It truly was a piece of my heart & soul, and I'm so relieved to finally be sharing it. I have a copy of the crystal clear one myself by the way, and I have to agree it turned out very nicely. That slipmat will probably stay on my player permanently ^^
One Question: What's the material for the slipmat? They usually do felt, I think that solicon would fit better this time... I figure how awesome it must look to have the clear record on there.
@@titanic21 Judging from what it feels like, I'm pretty sure it's felt indeed. Yes they go well together, but I'm also enjoying what it looks like without a record when not in use. Certainly beats my boring black slipmat from before ^^
No way I said to myself I would comment on every Shylmagoghnar's(sorry if spelling is wrong) song. Yet here we are. Never have I ever listened to something metal like this. Damn, I love Shyl......r
Many thanks for saying that! It's something which was born from necessity, but by now I am embracing the whole Renaissance thing of trying to do as much as you can by yourself. It's freeing, yet also humbling. I think I've never felt more in touch with being human, which was something sorely lacking from my life for many years.
You guys have reached Hell de Janeiro in Brazil, I came across as a sugestion from UA-cam, and man, it's one of the best songs I've heard in years, Fck awesome!
I am working right now and listening to some mix proposed by UA-cam. It is mostly from Napalm Records. And this one seriously attracted my attention from the background. I needed to bring it up and learn more. By looking at just 2.4K likes my first thought was "underrated". Compared to 300K for famous ones. But now I see it has been just 2 months. Fingers crossed for it to get all the attention it deserves.
I liked the shot of the sun shining through one of those what looks like a moving sand art frame. Does the morse code spell out the words on Infineon at the end? Also how did you create the high contrast dark-light filter seen throughout the video?
Well spotted! That was indeed a sand art frame. The aurora is a star projector placed behind it, and the sun is a flashlight :) The Morse code indeed spells out something, but not the outro message. I'm leaving that one for the public to figure out. I enjoy putting Easter eggs like that in albums. The general style of the clip was a combination of edge detection with a midtone shift towards a golden hue. Layered underneath is the regular shot with quite drastic contrast shenanigans. All of that then got a VHS treatment - I know that's done a lot these days, but I still enjoy it!
Thank you very much! Despite the circumstances being tough at times, it was a very enjoyable song/album to make. Full album is out now btw, in case you hadn't heard it yet ^^
Besides the fact that the track is great, the video is also very atmospheric. I enjoyed watching the polar lights and flying through the stars :) Well done!
I absolutely love this; amazing new addition to the Shylmagoghnar pantheon, this song is amazing. Based on those first two minutes, I feel someone has listened to a bit of Mesarthim, the morse code sounds hearken to Arrival Part 6 off Mesarthim's latest album (a beautiful tribute to that band if indeed there was inspiration); in any case, this is magnificent. I absolutely can't wait to hear the whole of Convergence.
It was a bit different, but i likes it a lot. I use his music a lot to make me fall in sleep. I have sometimes some sleeping issues, but thuis music is so complex and epic, so I can sleep on it. It makes me calm and relaxed.
Interesting how different it sounds from your previous songs. Still kicks massive amounts of asses though ! That bass tone is amazing, I'm curious as to what you used for it...
2nd comment... sorry. But I just have to say that I've been cycling this album 1-2x per day in the truck since it dropped, and I still come home and put this video on.
