    Nothing wrong with the CUB leaf springs for off-road conditions.All of their campers have travelled all over Australia off-road before independent suspension even became a “thing” for supposed off-road without any issues.

      Thanks for your comment in support of Cub Campers, I have seen failures in both type of suspension systems, leaf springs are easier to replace and have less potential failure points. Sometimes the issue of failures is due to maintenance and driving style ,,any camper that is driven through rough terrain as if it were a finke desert rally is more prone to problems.
      I assume that you have or have had a cub camper in the past. what model is, or was your camper? would you buy that same camper again what are the positive and negatives

      @@campertrailering 2008 Cub Spacematic Escape off-road. Still have it. Yes I would. Fantastic camper, only negative is it doesn’t have the mod ons of a new one, o thing a bit of coin and time won’t fix all for significantly less than purchasing a new one. Cheers 🍻 however the forward fold camper / hybrids vans certainly have my attention . Really like the CUB Frontier and potentially may be an upgrade one day.

    Great video 👍 would you guys do a video on small Aussie made hyper campers such as AOR Odyssey & Sierra?

      AOR Campers are Based in Queensland and have a showroom based in Gosford NSW.
      we will endeavor to do videos on the AOR campers. as soon as we can.We have forwarded email to AOR, and ascertain what Caravan camping shows they will be attending. If we see any AOR Campers on the road we will discuss with others re: positives and negatives and hopefully get some footage.
      we will also look at other manufacturers campers
      They have a webpage the site below shows all models, specs and prices.

    How do access the batteries in the frontier camper? CAn we do it or only professionals?

    • @campertrailering
      @campertrailering  10 місяців тому +1

      Access to Batteries in most Forward fold Campers are located under the Lounge Seats, and are easily accessible. In some model frontiers they are located on a slide out drawer accessible through an external drop down door on the Right Hand side of the camper. Batteries are located behind the Control panel.

      @@campertrailering aww thanks for that , I was wondering how to get the battery out thru that small cupboard lol 😂 , we r looking for a new camper and I’ve watched other cub campers out bush in the last couple of years and how families and couples have got on and now … I want one . I was tossing up between a forward fold or rear fold favouring the rear fold . But after today I think I’ll go to the show in September up here in Sydney cause I really liked the look of the frontier and what it offers ! Thanks heaps that vid helped me to really look at the camper that I favoured and stack it up against the others in price and options . Awesome vid

      I currently have a forward fold Camper a Goldfields Grand Duke. I prefer the forward fold campers because your off the floor, and once folded into position. You have your bed sorted and with minimal rearrangement have table and lounge sorted as well. When you look at the Campers ask the Questions . What is included with the Camper. Some Campers come complete with full annexes, Fridges, Battery chargers, Solar panels, Porta toilets etc. Goldfield Campers Come with the Lot. Many other camper brands do not, and these are considered options that can dramatically increase the costs. Be cautious, Do they provide after-sales service and in-house repairs and maintenance? Caravan shows can be exhausting, but it is a good opportunity to check out what's available. If you think Forward fold is what your after. Walk around all sites to see what's on offer prices and specs can be quite varied. Not all trailers have a Galvanised frame, After Sales Service, Convenient location, Warranty should be considered. At times good deals can be obtained at shows. But make an informed choice rather than an impulse buy. Good luck and good camping.

      @@campertrailering seriously I just took a picture of that last text , I’m taking that with me . And thank you for the warranty warning of two years that doesn’t transfer if it’s secondhand. You’re right about the forward fold I’m getting too old for fluffing about, my goal is to arrive at camp and within a half hr be seated with a wine or coffee ( depending on the drive ) lol 😂 all the best hope to see you out on the trails 😎

    Never been a fan of cub, for the money you pay it’s very poorly designed and what makes the worse is that they charge you an extra for galvanised chassis, that’s laughable even the Chinese ones have that included.

    • @campertrailering
      @campertrailering  Рік тому +1

      Thanks for the feedback Chris, and yes you are 100% correct the chassis is made from Australian steel but it is NOT hot dipped galvanised you can get them Hot Dip Galvanised current cost of this option is $1,150.
      Our campers are Goldfields Campers which are assembled in Maryborough Vic From yes chinese components and they have a Hot dipped chassis with a 5yr structural warranty current new price of a forward fold Grand Duke is 28K. (The Cub Frontier Forward Fold is 48K) we have only had our Goldfields campers 12mths, to date have only had minor issues, but are yet to take them on more testing tracks.
      For anyone looking for a new camper I would suggest they visit a caravan and camping show where they can quickly see the differences up close ask questions and get the answers from the various manufacturers check build quality.

      It is galvanised. It’s a galvanised steel chassis, you can pay more for hot dip but it’s already galvanised anyway so why bother

    • @Chris-sf2cp
      @Chris-sf2cp Рік тому

      @@matthewh8005 huge difference between normal electro plated galvanised vs hit dipped. It’s pathetic from cub that it isn’t included
