My grey nomad years are just around the corner. I could very easily as a single bloke live FT in a set up like this. I'd keep my steel tray ute for carrying fire wood , Genset and extra Jerry cans for the 2 and 3 month Isolation safari's. Brilliant Expo champ!! 10/10
Ps would recommend all serious off roaders get a reverse Osmosis kit. There is always water somewhere in the bush.

Awesome Harry you guys are going to love the new setup! One thing we used to do when camping with a newborn and night feeds is boil up some water before bed and keep it in a thermos and another one with cold water so you can mix up bottles through the night without having to actually get up and boil water in the middle of the night 😊 enjoy the fam adventures!

Enjoy every moment mate and take lots of photos and vids of bub because they grow up SO FAST !! So good to see Cub get some exposure by someone like yourself. I considered the Cub and have been a fan of what they do for years. The only reason I went with a smaller Patriot was the fact I can’t fit the Cub in my garage. I hope people see the quality of these trailers and they get a few sales out of you. I have a Cub Escape... awesome camper, love it and wouldn't change it... only 2 issues... 1: EVERY piece of metal in the kitchen, doors, body etc (other than the chassis) had SUPER sharp edges from cutting/stamping. I literally spent a couple hours with a file to blunt them down, after cutting myself several times. 2: Real world Towball downforce when fully loaded - my Escape comes in at around 280KG towball downforce when fully loaded (water in tank, extra fuel/water in jerry can holders, kitchen full, underbed storage loaded etc..), which is prob more than 20% total weight! Most of the weight can only be loaded in front of the axle, very little opportunity to distribute weight behind axle. This camper looks similar - a huge amount of space in front of the axles. But - I still love it, time to set up is minutes instead of hours like our previous soft floor camper. Everything works and it thoughtfully designed.

great news about the camper. if you're interested in your family safety you might want to watch Robert Pepper (LSSFBC) youtube videos on towing etc. eg: have you exceeded your rear axle loading on the prado? ( extended hitch?) and maybe put your heavy tools in the cupboard over the wheel, not on the back?
also consider using Australian Supapeg key head pegs and guy ropes for your awnings, we find they are great.

Hi Harry congrats on becoming a dad. I’ve been a long time follower and love the cooking content.
I purchased a Black Series Dominator last year 2021 and except for the extras can’t see a benefit of purchasing a CUB Camper except for the name. They are manufactured just up the road from my place at North Rocks here in Sydney.
My Dominator obviously is of lower quality but for the 10 times I use it a year I can’t see any value in purchasing a camper 25k more expensive.
I’d love to see you do a comparison of both on the channel.
I did a lot of research before purchasing my Black Series camper and found it to be the best for money.
I have no affiliation with Black Series but thought id shear my option.

Nice, I have looked at the Frontier, however with 2 x kids, thinking Escape and bunks on the hardfloor. (Will be buying used.) I had a look at the new Drifter at the super show and it is very glam, albeit far too expensive for our budget.
This might be my OCD, however please get those legs wound down before getting the tent up. I know of a horror story with a caravan where they unhitched and thought the jockey wheel would be adequate.

Hi Harry. As someone that’s in the market for a good camper trailer, I’m keen to see how the Cub handles high wind conditions with all that canvas and how young Will handles the heat and humidity with no aircon (unless the Cub has on but you didn’t show it).
Also at $56k, it’s pretty pricey and comparable (in price point alone) to a Patriot X1-H which apparently sleeps 2-8 people. Ronny Dahl seems to rate the Patriots.
That said, if ANY company offered to ‘loan’ me a camper trailer of any sort for a year, I wouldn’t say no either. Just from your brief review, the Cub certainly looks like the ‘real deal’. I really love the amazing awning capacity

The best part of this is your dog goofing around in the background, photobombing your video clip. :) I'm thinking about getting one of these if for no other reason than the light weight - at 1200 or so kilos it's appreciably lighter than a lot of the opposition, like the Stirling GT I was also considering, which is 1700kg. As you say, it all adds to wear and fuel consumption. And who knew that it came with its own car port? :) The one thing I may have missed - does it come with a fully enclosed annex and n suite?

Absolutely awesome trailer, and what a great addition it will be to your camping/traveling needs.
I've been watching you since you started your channel, how do you not have over 100k subs by now? Your content is so entertaining and real, not to mention you can still cook like a caveman. Love it! Keep up the good work. Cheers!

Where do you keep your clothes? That is a massive trailer but there’s bugger all storage inside, same as all forward fold campers.

The under bed storage or a bag

Defo could not justify anything over 25k for a camper. Will be sitting in the driveway 9 months out of a year. Chinese or Aussie made, you pay for what you get.
Interested to see how the Prado goes towing it, L per 100, holds 100kms up hills etc? Cheers 🍻

    • @firetofork
      @firetofork  2 роки тому +1

Totally depends on your financial situation and how much you use it. A nice 2nd hand Aussie made camper can definitely be had for $25k.
It added 2.5-3l/100 fully loaded towing it (about 14.5-15l/100 on all different terrains- plenty of hills)
