Thanks. I appreciate it and appreciate the support for my channel. I will start producing new content next week to hopefully help and entertain hunters. Have a great day.
Over the years I’ve watched this hunt no less than 20 times! Unreal to have around 400” of antler within 40 yds of the stand. One hot doe can change everything at the drop of a hat. This story and then the following year, the G4 buck story will go down as two of my favorite Winke moments ever! I hope you sit back every day, Bill, and smile when you’re looking at those two magnificent animals on your wall. If you’re like me, you can smell the smells, remember the temp and how it all played out with every glance. My wife makes fun of me for sitting in my chair just staring at the wall remembering. Those are memories we all take with us forever! Really enjoyed watching it again! I’m pretty sure I’ll be back again! 😁🦌
That hunt never gets old Bill! And the way you bring it strait to the viewers the way it really happens it one of the thing that separates you from the rest!
The dozens of times I've watched this it never gets old. Great job bill!!! Love the respect and composure that you have after taking the life of another animal.
This is by far my favorite hunt ever on video! It's what every whitetail hunter dreams of such an amazing evening in god's creation. Thanks for bringing us these older hunts bill and for all the knowledge you've shared over the years.
Thanks Jeremy, I was not much of fan of God creation that morning when it was 32, windy and raining, but the afternoon made up for a thousand miserable days on stand! It was really something. Have a great day.
Bill, I love seeing you back showing your wonderful videos. Thank you for all you have taught me from your online stuff. You have helped my hunting here in the midwest in so many wonderful ways. I learn something new every time I watch a video from you. Hope you have many more memorable hunts for years to come sir. If you ever need anything out Nebraska way don't hesitate to reach out. ~Jc
JC, thanks. I really appreciate the kind words and the invite. Nebraska is an awesome whitetail state in its own right and I no longer tied to one farm, so who knows. You may hear from me! Have a great day.
Easily one of the more memorable hunts of the thousands I’ve ever watched. How in the world has it been 10 years already since that magical season, Bill?
That was a dream hunt for the ages. I don’t remember you showing that much footage following the shot on MWW but glad you did here. Thanks for sharing!
David, thanks. I tried to re-edit it a little differently just to create some new content for people who have seen these hunts before. Have a great day.
Amen, when that buck was coming in was one of the coolest segments in the history of deer hunting video. We never talked about it, but I had to kneel down on the platform so he could film over me during the shot.
That was an incredible hunt. I always wonder how much bigger g5 would have gotten had the hunt went the other way given the age you shared he was. Keep them coming!
Me too. I wish now that it had because G5 was only four years old when I got the results back from the cementum annuli testing for age. Boy, what a genetic freak. He needed at least one more year, maybe two. I didn't know he was four at the time, I thought five. I am not sure I would have let him go had I known he was four - maybe. I still expected the other buck to show back up after getting run off. That might have been enough to cause me to let this one go. It would be so cool to just let them all get old, but unfortunately, not many of them make it that long - other hunters and natural mortality take a big toll each year.
What a hunt!! Still my favorite hunt ever and I love how you are posting these on youtube! Really cool! I am curious, I have never seen you mention the final score of this deer. I know you guessed him in the 190s from the tree, was that what he ended up? Awesome hunt!! Gets me jacked for November already!
Me too. November can't come soon enough. I never did actually score him so I don't know past the guess. I have tried not to be concerned about the score because I hate the thought of converting my memories to a number. That is just me, I see no problem with scoring animals as long as it doesn't detract from the memory of the hunt, I have just never done it. Have a great day.
Remains to this day the greatest whitetail hunt captured on video. Can’t count how many times I’ve watched it!!!
It was some kind of day. I was awestruck when it was all over.
That was awesome! Cant wait to show my son this video!
Thanks Zac. I appreciate it. Man, that was quite a hunt! One I will never forget!
Omg one of the best hunts I’ve ever seen.
It was nuts Steve. I will never experience anything like that again. Good luck.
Bill I cannot tell how much I appreciate your candor and honesty talking about this afterward - respect!
Thanks. I appreciate it and appreciate the support for my channel. I will start producing new content next week to hopefully help and entertain hunters. Have a great day.
What an incredible buck, just to lay eyes on him. Wow!
Yes, what a day.
I’ve always remembered this hunt….just wow!! Moment of a lifetime!!!
It was a crazy 45 minutes. I will never forget it.
This was so awesome. People don't realize how things can change from 0 to 100. You have to be out there to be successful 🦌
That's right. Your whole season can change on a dime.
What a memorable and awesome hunt
Once in a lifetime!
One of my all time favorite hunts💥
Thanks Michael. Much appreciated.
An all-time classic, Bill. Not sure this hunt has ever been topped by any promotion.
I agree. I will never see another hunt like that one! Thanks for the comment.
This is one of the most amazing bits of outdoor film I have ever seen. Watched it more times than I can count. Incredible.
Thanks Jeff. It was quite an experience. Something I will never forget.
That was insane!! One of the more amazing hunts I have seen!!
It still makes my sit up and stare when I watch that pig come grunting through the brush.

You are very right Josh. It is all about the memories. The trophies on the wall are there to bring back the memories not to impress people.
@@bill-winke I agree 100%
Probably the most insane hunt ever filmed thank you bill for bringing back those clips
Thanks Yohan. I appreciate it. Have a great day.
Holy cow what a hunt! The vocals, the commotion, the setting, just absolutely perfect...what dreams are made of! Love the content Bill keep it up!
It was an unforgettable hunt. Hunt of a lifetime for sure! Thanks Patrick.
Dream Big brother 🙏
Amen. Edward.
My favorite hunt Bill - thanks for sharing these!
Thanks Matt. I appreciate it. I hope you are doing well. Have a great day.
By far my favorite of your hunts. That brute, grunting and bulldozing through the brush was incredible. Greg did an awesome job!
It was definitely a crazy moment when that buck was coming in. Shocking.
@@bill-winke also liked it when you hunted "Death Ridge". Glimmer in your eye and a little grin when you said it to the camera was priceless.
true pioneer. i know Bill isn't the first but he did it better.
Thanks for the comment and the kinds words, Ian. I appreciate it. Have a great day.
That hunt never gets old Bill! And the way you bring it strait to the viewers the way it really happens it one of the thing that separates you from the rest!
It was unique in that case because Greg left the camera running for 45 straight minutes. It was all real-time. We didn't have to recreate anything.
Bill that’s a fine buck I hope to see you more this coming up season like watching your old hunts
Thanks Jeremiah. I will be posting something regularly this fall, but I am not sure it will be from a cameraman in the tree with me. Have a great day.
The dozens of times I've watched this it never gets old. Great job bill!!! Love the respect and composure that you have after taking the life of another animal.
Thanks. I appreciate the support. That was quite an afternoon in the tree!

Some of the greatest footage I have watched Bill great job!
Greg Clements filmed that. It still makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up when that buck comes in tearing things up and grunting like that.

I know. Ten years ago - it flew past. Thanks for the support and have a great day.
Hi Bill, awesome buck!!!
Glad you made your own channel, looking forward to future videos!
Thanks Tom. I will keep them coming. Have a great day.
So much for that backstrap
Lost a little meat there, but that buck had plenty to spare. Maybe the biggest bodied deer I have ever shot.
@@bill-winke 🤣 Hey, great hunt. We've all had those shots. Not all on a buck so magnificent though.

This is the most amazing hunt. Imagine the emotions. Unforgettable!
It was a crazy hour, to be sure. I will never forget it.
Hands down my favorite hunt. Absolute beautiful buck! That hunt is what you dream about!
It was definitely unbelievable. I still shake my head when I think about it.

Nice to see you back! How did you do this year? Midwest Whitetail I'd not the same without you.
Thanks Kristopher. I really appreciate the kind words. It feels good to be back producing content. I will see where this leads. Have a great day.
