Yes, this is a re-upload because UA-cam destroyed the quality the first time. Thanks for still watching! :) - I forgot to mention that the Mamiya 6 MF has three different inserts where you can get two different formats and a panoramic format with 35mm film. Super cool. LOVE Y'ALL
i didn't know film can actually look really good. one thing that's keeping me from film is that it's quite expensive. and it seems quite complicated to someone new.
@@saratrejo6658 Just found out today you can buy a scanner and convert it to digital. And if you want you can select some photos to be converted for print which is mad economical
Nikon FM, FM2, F3hp. Leica M2, 3, 6. Mamiya 6 , 7, Rollieflex. Many of the older cameras will have an inaccurate shutter unless it's been recently serviced. The Nikons Leicas, Rollieflex and Mamiyas can all be serviced and are very indestructable. From someone who is old enough to have started when there was nothing but film. I've also sold and or used almost all of these. The only film camera I have left is my Nikon F3hp.
Hi Eric: the Olympus XA does not read DX code, rather it' s a manual settings on the front of camera, above the lens. It allows for 800 iso max if I am not mistaken.
Such a great breakdown of each camera + a nice collection of different formats. I'd love to have the Leica M6 or a Mamiya 7 one day. Quite happy with my RZ67 though rn!
A few things wrong in this video. The Olympus XA does not read DX code, you set the ISO manually. The build quality of the XA2 is not worse, but it's fully automatic, has zone focusing and the lowest aperture is 3.5 instead of the XA's 2.8. And you can't use crop sensor EF lenses on the EOS 1 and the 1n. You can technically mount them, but you won't get full coverage and you'll experience HEAVY vingetting.
The XA4 had a 28mm lens with macro capabilities where the wrist strap had beads that let you measure distance for accurate macro focus! The Nikon L35AF point-and-shoot cameras is still one of the best ever.
I can’t believe how affordable* that Voightlander lens is. * In context of Leica equipment. Leica is my goal to own, as you have said in some of your previous videos, heirloom camera.
It's not the tool it's how it's used. Beautiful images could be made with a cheap cameras/disposable box cameras just as one could make with the Uber expensive 'Leicas' or high profile Medium format cameras.
Now is the best time. Snag yourself a film camera before they start going up in price. I’ve already bought 2 cameras a few years ago, and the same ones I have doubled.
I use an Olympus Af1 Infinity and a Yashica FXD quartz with the 50mm F2 ML lens. The Yashica is aperture priority or manual. I have the dedicated Yashica Cs201 auto flash for it too.
Hi Eric, I have just recommisioned my Minolta slr fully auto 1983/84 35mm Its all plastic and light.I havent used it for 30 years. Really keen to get some comments from other owners. Don't know what its worth but its in mint condition.
Most SLR’S cameras are excellent, I use a canon only because my father gave me he is Canon vet when I was in my early teens. So I’ve stayed with Canon.
Atm using my Canon R6 as my main camera and my Canon M50 as my second camera. It is pretty perfect for a hobbyist like me. If I ever earn real money with it, I will add the C70 :)
I'd also say that maybe if you'd like a more compact medium format solution, you could go for some of the folding cameras offered by Agfa, Voigtlander, etc.
Hahaha nice bro. I knew you couldn’t get thru the first 10 words without laughing 😂😂😂. Great vid as always bro bro. Thinking about buying my first film camera this year. Love yuuuuu😂💪🏼
I've got a Holga 135 toy camera, which I think takes great, unique photos. I also have an Agfa Ambi Silette with the 50mm lens. Unfortunately that lenses blades have fallen out of place. :(
I bought the Polaroid now and now plus and I’m disappointed with the quality and flash. More then half of my pics came out dark. I have the Polaroid mini and I’m super happy with that one that’s why I was expecting more from the Polaroid now. I’m returning both cameras

Hi Eric, what would you suggest for starter camera, sound and lighting for home fitness videos, I need an experts opinion. Currently using a Gopro 9 and editing in Imovie, need to step it up thanks
I wouldn't buy any of these :P I'm notoriously annoying all of my friends by saying I like specific lenses and I'll use any camera that makes the most of those. Everything else is just ergonomics and looks, which is nonsense anyway :P
Kind of a pointless video showing all these film cameras without stating what your objective is! The idea of a film camera is to learn the basics of photography. The best entry level camera would be a Bessa manual rangefinder camera. Don't buy any camera that has any automation in it - you will not learn when the camera thinks for you.

Only the XA3 and XA4 had DX coding. The ISO lever actually servers a function. Kindly, an Olympus XA owner.
Heads up, 28mm is the widest frame lined available on any Leica M camera even on the .58 and .72

On the XA, no need to put a sticker on the film, as you determine your camera's ISO setting on the bottom right below the lens! =)
