Y'all really have no idea how gassed I am to be on the cinestill team. So glad u guys let me run around and bother everyone for a WHOLE day for this viddy 🥺👉🏼👈🏼
❤ now... back to work!
@@CineStillFilm im going im gooooingggg
Wow congratulations Linus! A film nerds dream come true.
When I got into film photography I asked around my family before buying a camera. Turns out my uncle had a Minolta maxxum 7000 sitting in a closet with expired film and a 50mm 1.7 lens. It was everything I needed to get started and now that he’s passed away it holds a special place and is something I could never get rid of
really sad no one picked the budweiser camera as their fave
🤣
My fave film camera is my favorite for sentimental reasons, as are some of your choices! My grandfather gave me his old Nikon F when I started shooting film my freshman year of college. I've recently started processing film rolls of his that have sat in a box undisturbed and undeveloped for nearly 55 years! It's amazing to see images he can't even remember taking and knowing that I now shoot with the same camera.
I love the lady who said that a waist level viewfinder teaches you to see the world differently.
I first used a Rolleicord tlr when I was 16 years old in 1961.
I use a 1957 Yashica Mat now.
Brighter viewfinder than the Rolleicords.
I love that Rolleiflex 66 with those Schneider lenses.
I also carry an Olympus Af1 Infinity with the super sharp 35mm f2. 8 lens.
My favorite camera is gonna have to be my Canon A-1, I just love the sleek black look and images it produces.
Same! Really easy to use and basically you can shoot anything with it also has a wide variety of FD lens options. Only downside is that it is battery operated.
My favorite camera is the Olympus OM1 that I got as a graduation gift in 1976. I still have it and it works great! I have the 50mm f1.4, 50mm f3.5 Macro with extension tube for 1:1 Macro shots. Also I have the 100mm f2.8 for portraiture, a 28mm and 24mm f2.8 for landscapes and a 300 f4.5 I use for sports and whatever. SO MUCH FUN to use and the images are SHARP! I even use these lenses on my Sony A9 and the results are Fantastic!
Hands down my favorite film camera is my Olympus XA, focusing on the range finder is so difficult but when you nail it, the photo is just beyond your expectations!!!
Agree with Koltin. The Nikon F2 is my all time favourite from my Nikon collection. I love the design of my F3 (and the buttery smooth film advances) but love the all mechanical function of the F2.
You guys at CineStill are doing an amazing job with your videos! There's a lot to learn from them and all so fun.
My favourite camera so far is the Nikon FM2, I'm so in love with it that I bought a lot of of lenses for it in the past year. All I'm missing is shooting some of your film with it here in my country, Bolivia!
My favorite film camera is definitely my MAMIYA RB67!!!!!! It’s heavy but I love how it feels in my hands and I love how many beautiful mistakes you can make while shooting with it! I’ve taken some of my best photos on my RB and I wouldn’t trade it for the world!
Got to agree with Linus on this one I love my Pentax 67 sooooo much. It goes everywhere with me and it’s a joy to shoot
My favorite film camera is my Mamiya RB67, it’s my first ever medium format camera and I’ve created so many beautiful photos with it. Glad that you guys are really engaging the film photography community 🙏🏼
My canonet ql17 for now it shoots, my fujica stx-1 cause it was the first film camera i picked up and inherited from my grandad after he passed away, kick started my love of film and i haven’t stopped shooting since
Minolta x-700 my first and favorite film camera, love that it’s fully manual and compact!
My dad gifted me his canon ae1 from when he was in school. And it's the one I carry with me everywhere. It's black with the brass showing so it looks awesome as well, and fun to shoot with.
Is it a full black ae-1? Those are rare!
Interesting to see what everyone uses. For me, it’s the Olympus OM-2. I like Zuiko lenses, and since I’m used to shooting aperture priority with digital, it was easy to switch back to the OM-2 to shoot film with aperture priority. Plus the camera has a great tactile quality to it.
Love the videos and nice to see everyone passionate about what they do. My favorite is my first film camera, a Canon AE-1 Program I bought on a whim when I felt stuck creatively shooting digital. Definitely scratched that itch and opened me up to so much more.
Nikon FM3A became my go to camera years ago. It's easy to carry around, it's like a tank, can shoot 100% manually.
Congratulations on 10k!!! As for my favorite film camera at the moment its the Fujica GS645S. Love the channel, keep up the good work!
Hi, I’ve just come across your channel and absolutely loving it. I have two favourite film cameras the first is strangely my very first camera which I got at the age of 9 back in 1976 . This is a Voigtlander vito B which I love using and helped me understand exposure having to use sunny 16.
The second is a little more up to date and it’s the Canon T90. I just feel so at one with this camera it becomes a part of me
really nice to hear the variety of cameras you guys enjoy. My personal favorite has to be the Yashica C, beautiful format, fully mechanical and a sharp lens. Love everything about it
Loved seeing the variety of cameras and the diverse group of people behind CiniStill. My favourite film camera is my Nikon FM2. Its one of my first cameras ever and its the one I learned the most on. Great video :D
Great to hear all the perspectives.
My favorite film camera (& the one I will never give up) is the Canon AE-1 Program. The camera was used by my father in film school & gifted to me when I was 8 years old. It was the first film camera I ever used and I know that thing like the back of my hand.
I shoot mostly medium format these days on the RZ67, but the AE-1 P has a forever place in my heart.
I'm partial to the Minolta x-700. Used one for almost 20 years before making the switch to digital. Still have 2 of them that I pull out occasionally though my Bronica EC-TL is my used film camera these days.
This is such a great/fun video! Love seeing such a variety of cameras and also the folks at CineStill. My favorite film camera is a Leica M6.
It goes everywhere with me and has become intuitive when using. I always have fun when getting out and shooting with it.
Thanks for another great video!
Thank You for producing such amazing videos with content that helps all range of photographers in a light and fun way that captivate us every second.
Really dig this Channel!!
Super professional and super clarifying!
And... my favourite film camera is also the PENTAX 6X7!
I love my Pentax 67 as well! It took some time to get use to it's superior weight but I am always amazed at how well it performs! I am always able to capture the vision in my head with that beast!
love the video, quite a diverse range of favourites, I have Autism, and my favourite is the Linhof Technika series 4x5/5x7" cameras, they are compact, as they fold up for transport, have movements, a coupled rangefinder (cams under the focus track), an anatomical grip to hold them, and I love the back screen, is on a ring, so changing orientations is a snap, and the flip-out hoods are a great idea to save you if you forgot the focus cloth. one other thing it has a medieval crest/sheild style logo, and the history of all the models.
This was such a great clip, the enthusiasm of the team really shows!
My favourite camera is the Nikon F3HP, it's simple, reliable and it has a light meter (which I need because I know better than to trust my best judgement). The heft of it and the satisfying shutter sound makes it feel like an event to take a picture with it and that really helps me stay in the moment.
As far as 120 goes I was lucky enough to pick up a Mamiya 645 1000S in great condition, I'm still learning how to make the most of it, but that camera really helps slow down my process and stay focused.
Enjoyed this video very much. Great to see other folks take on their favorite film cameras. My favorite camera is my Minolta X700. Bought two of them new in 1986. Shot them for 15 years before going to digital. This past January I pulled them off the shelf and began shooting them again. Had to have the capacitor on one of them repaired, but other than that I love using them more than ever. Have some Canon 35mm cameras also, and they are great.😀😀
Congrats on hitting 10k!! Can’t wait to see more videos!! My favorite camera is my Rollei 35!! its so small i take it everywhere with me! 🙂
Great video. Just getting back into film and picked up a Pentax 645n. I have only shot a couple of rolls and am really enjoying using it!
Such an inspiring and great video...I'm still loving my Olympus OM-1 after all these years!
I love my hasselbad 500c! This is my first medium format camera and I love it when I got my hands-on, the design itself is such an art piece! Also the shutter sound! Every time when I hit the shutter on my camera, it is just such an enjoyment!
Awesome video. That custom camera and that Rollei 6x6 are beautiful. My favorite camera is my Leica R4. Given to me by my mentor and many rolls of BWXX have been run through it. Love the long throw on the 35 Summicron-R.
My favorite film camera as of now is my Minolta SRT-101, it was my intro to 35mm and now have 3! My first one broke sadly, but was able to get my hands on 2 more at a bargain. Such a rugged feel and simple mechanics. I love it!
Great video! I think it's pretty cool how for so many people their favorite camera is their first camera. Maybe they moved in and tried others, maybe even use a different camera for work, but so many of return to our first camera as a favorite. My favorite is my Mamiya C220.
My favorite camera has been my recently acquired leica m6. Have a voigtlander 35mm nokton on it. I took it with me on a multi day backpacking trip and the results just blew me away. The design quality is like no other. Great video!
Really love the Mamiya RZ67 I can’t live without it. It’s changed the way I see the world ❤️
The best thing about film photography is the range of cameras you have to choose from, different formats and different ways of shooting. My favourite will always be my RB67 though can’t beat 6x7 negs.
Congrats on hitting 10k! Its hard to pick a favorite, but i love my RZ67 so much i keep a spare body just in case. 🤞
3:11 This portrait is seriously amazing. Also that camera Brandon made is mind blowing.
Great video! I love film cameras, and the favourite one I ever used was the Leica R4 MOT What an amazing piece of technology, and the lenses made people think that you were using medium format, they were so sharp and contrasty. The favourite camera that I actually owned was The Contax 139. Beautifully made, and with Zeiss lenses available.
Excellent thought out and edited video! Favorite camera is the Olympus OM4Ti with Zuiko 50mm 1.8. Set up almost as compact as a point and shoot with printable quality optics and the most intuitive to work with most versatile and accurate in camera meter I could find. Cheers!
Great video, nice to see everyone's favourites! Of all my film cameras I'm still in love with my mamiya 645 pro TL. Medium format is always my go to format and this specific one has never disappointed.
After trying out various film cameras, I fell in love with my Mamiya 7 shooting with the 80mm F4 lens. I enjoy the outdoors, and I love the look of medium format. So the Mamiya 7 was a perfect match for my style of photography.
Subscribed! My favourite film camera is my Hasselblad 500CM. I tried a lot of different cameras I could borrow at Glasgow school of art. The Hasselblad was the one that spoke to me. It’s incredible sound and feel. The amazing Zeiss lenses. I have put thousands of rolls through it, making photographs on different projects in different countries.
My favorite is the RB67. But I just got a Bessa R and I'm really loving it
Nikon N80, my first film camera, I am still learning how to use it. I fell in love with film, the anticipation of how the photos turn out, going to my local film store, the community, and the feel of something real compared to digital. It really makes it a process that has been a great calming experience.
Super cool video! Right now my favorite is my Mamiya 645. Medium format makes me think harder about my shots since there is less space on each roll, and I love scanning the big negatives it makes it so much easier and the quality is perfect!
I loved seeing everyone’s favorite cameras! I’m a film newbie, still working on getting to know my camera. My favorite camera so far is the Pentax K1000 because it’s simple to use.
I love my Canon Rebel 2000 paired with a good lens & film! Super light too to carry around. 💖
I really enjoyed seeing the wide range of film cameras in this video. Out of the 7 film cameras I have I seen two of mine in this video the Nikon fg and the Yashica Mat , but my favorite film camera is the Yashica Electro 35 GS. Thanks for sharing!
Great content! Keep them coming. Love one of my first film camera - the Hexar AF. Great street camera.
This is such a cool video! It's nice to see what you guys are using!
My favourite film camera got to be my first film camera, Minolta X300 1.7 50mm lens! It looks & feels great, its been a reliable travel companion!
I hav an interchangeable lens 24-35mm for wide angle shots and would usually bring both around!
I always enjoy these sort of videos. It's good to see a wide range of film cameras, and people genuinely happy to use them. Mamiya and/or Leica aren't the only companies that have made some really great cameras. That being said, however, I have really enjoyed my Mamiya 645 a lot more than anticipated. From it's portability to it's ground glass, it's currently my favorite.
Glad someone shares the same feeling for the mamiya 645 🥰
Loved the video, always interesting to see what other film shooters are choosing/using. Favourite camera? Mamiya RZ67 Pro II. It’s a beast but such beautiful images, especially when shooting Cinestill 800T - these two were made for each other.
I absolutely Love my Leica M3 ... My grandpa used to collect old cameras and this was the pride and Joy of His collection ... When He passed away I helped to Sorted His massive collection to make it possible dir my Mom and her siblings to determine who gets what piece of the collection... Then a Few years later I got the Leica as a Birthday present for my 18th Birthday ... Not only from my mum, my uncles and my aunt, but from my grandpa .... Everytime I use it I have to remember this great man who told me so much and who planted the seed for my love for this old kind of equipment and for analoge photography
Very nice video, so many interesting cameras! These days I really love my Nikons, F3 and F100, really versatile combo with clear viewfinders!
I used to serve Steve coffee before I moved away from Rochester and way before I was interested in film. Love the Letchworth photo ✌🏻
Great video! Thanks for sharing!
My favorite camera is a Nikon F. Aside from it delivering my artistic vision, I love the history it bears and also the build quality. It’s very comforting to know that I’ll have this camera for a lifetime and can even hand this down to future generations. 🎞🎞🎞📷📷
Loved watching everyone talk about their favorite cameras, Brandon's homemade camera is so sick. My Pentax K1000 has never failed me, and I love how portable it is.
Hi folks!
My favorite easy shooter is the baby Exakta, the Exa Ia with the Zeiss Jena Biotar 2/ 58 lens!
But overall for fun and ease…. I love my East German Praktica Super TL, with it’s classic Meyer-Optik Oreston 1.8, 50mm lens ….. phenomenal results with a simple fun camera!
Thanks for sharing your faves …. Some really cool stuff!
Hello! I really enjoyed getting to see everyone's favorite camera! My favorite camera (as of a few months ago) is the Olympus XA. It has really helped me gain an appreciation for street/landscape photography! Plus, I love that I can throw it in my pocket or crossbody bag whenever I leave my apartment and not have to worry about whether or not I can bring the camera wherever it is that I'm going!
Fantastic video as always! Hate to be that guy but it's the Nikon F3P for me. Its super tough as I tend to pound on it and it never fails me. It's just a pleasure to shoot and I think about shooting it all day long.
Hi guys! Nice selection of cameras! My favourite film camera is the Olympus OM2n. Have a good one!
Cool vid! have now become obsessed with that rolleiflex SL66. my go-to is my black Olympus OM1, works without a battery, so very compact, intuitive to use with a wide range of great lenses, made to last forever. 2nd choice - my rollei tlr, because its a rollei tlr. :)
I started taking film pics in the early sixties with a brownie and then bought a Konica t3 with my paper route money around 1966. Found another t3 a few years ago and am now back to shooting film. Konica lenses are very sharp and I get great shots while bringing back great memories. Keep up the great work.
My ultimate favourite camera to use is my Yashica-Mat TLR! I bought it for around $100 at a camera market 10 years ago and I've been using it since! I love the 6x6 ratio and nothing else comes close to the waist level viewfinder. Congrats on 10k!!!
My favorite is my parents Olympus Stylus they used to photograph myself and my family and now I use it for my work!
That homemade TLR is nuts! Favorite get stuff done camera for me is the Nikon F3 but my every day carry is my Leica II with a collapsible Elmar 3.5. Love that thing.
My first film experience was with a throw away point and shoot and soon after I bought the Yashica FX-3 Super at an online auction for cheap. Since then I got really into photography over the last couple years, and bought a Karl Zeiss lens for it which is very nice. After that some film cameras have come and go but my good old Yashica I will never let go❤️
Congrats on making it to 10K subscribers and all excellent choices on a favourite film camera. My personal favourite camera is the Mamiya m645, it's a compact medium format system camera with brilliant lenses (especially the 35mm f/3.5 wide-angle) that can be taken everywhere and customised to every situation.
Amazing Video!
My favorite film camera is my Contax G2 📸
Love how it has interchangeable Zeiss lenses and somewhat compact.
Keep up the great work!
Lovely to see diff cameras that people love. Have been fortunate to have had some like the Hassy 501CM; Canonet; Leica M3 and now just starting the Pentax 6x7 - that is one that Linus does amazing images! 😍
Amazing video, love it!
My actual favorite film camera is the Nikon f2, sooo amazing and simple camera to shoot with it..🙌🏽
I've recently started with film photography (I've been shooting digital for years) and just got a Mamiya 645 1000s and a Nikon FA. I was using for a while a Canon FTb which is nice but had few problems with it. What I am most excited about is the order of the new Redrum film which looks very exciting. Can't wait to shoot it. Also great video and you've got a pretty talented team there.
Love this type of vids! My favorite camera is my Minolta 7s, it’s the first film camera I ever used and I love it so much
Great video, CineStill seems like an awesome place to work with a good crew. For me my favorite film camera is the Nikon FE camera. It's all that I need perfectly executed and nothing more. Matchstick metering is perfect for me along with the vast lens selection. Honorable mention to the Bronica ETR, and F3 bodies.
Film has me hooked! I started on a Pentax ME Super during the panny, now I’m loving my medium format Mamiya 645. Film is life
I love my little Rollei35! Always there when I need it, plus it's helped me shoot faster. Learning to estimate exposure and zone focusing have proven their value on the Rollie and those skills transfer across all cameras
Congrats on the 10K, gang!
I'm not sure how I can narrow it down to just one camera, but at the moment I'm really enjoying my Nikon F3.
loved the video and the atmosphere in this! my fav camera as of right now is my leica m5. lotta people hate it but it’s made my way to my heart ❤️
My favorite film camera right now is my canon eos 1v hs. It's a beast for event photography and action sports. Thanks for a great video!
So much fun to see all the variety in what people like to shoot with! Right now I’m loving my Mamiya 645. As a newbie, it’s a good compromise between affordability and the shooting experience I most enjoy.
I loved this video! I’m big fan of linus’s projects
My favorite film camera is Canon A-1. It's a slr camera, so I can see exactly what I'm shooting. I like that the functions are intuitive and easy to use. And the black body is really COOL.
Nice video guys!
My favourite film camera would have to be my olympus OM4 which also happens to be my first one as well!
I like the Mamiya RB67! Mine has a tower finder, takes 645,6x6,6x7and 6x8 backs. I adapted it to take view camera lenses to lighten it's travel weight. I like that the back rotates to both vertical and horizontal formats.
My current favorite is a Zeiss Ikon Contessa from the 50's that I recently found kinda hidden in an antique shop. It was in fantastic condition but affordable. I hadn't shot film since I was a child and had never loaded a roll before, but this camera made it all such a unique and enjoyable experience! I look forward to shooting some CineStill soon.
The Contessa my first camera in 1975! My dad gave it to me when I was 12, to get started in photography. Wonderful folder with a sharp Tessar lens! 👍😎
Just bought my first film camera! Minolta Hi Matic 7S - 35mm rangefinder. This was a fun video! Loved seeing the variety!
My favorite film camera is the Ftb ql. I have my dads old camera and it’s a joy to use. He shot with it in South-East Asia when he was younger and since I grew up there I’d love to go back and shoot with the camera myself.
My fav film camera is a Rollei 35s which belongs to my mom. It’s been in the family since forever and I played with it as a kid but never really shot it. I only started shooting with this camera about 18 months ago and boy, it’s amazing! The size, the mechanic, the operation; I could find no fault for it whatsoever ❤️
This video was so fun to watch! Thank you all for it!
My fav film camera is the Canon A1 - a sweet, classic all-rounder and my first film camera that I bought with my first paycheck :))
I have a Hasselblad 501CM and my favorite film is CineStil bw double X, thanks for bringing this classic back 😀😀😀😀
What a joy to watch with a wide range of amazing cameras and some fantastic images! I have two cameras I use more than any other, my Rolleiflex f/2.8e and my Nikon F2. Linus, when you said your Pentax feels like an extension of you, that's how I feel with my F2. My main lens is my 50mm f/1.4 which is on the camera at least 90% of the time. I also have the 105mm f/2.5 and the Lomography daguerreotype f/2.9 art lens when I'm trying to be really fancy.
Glad you guys promote film. It is hard to choose only one camera, but my best pictures came out from a Contact G2 system, maybe is not as romantic as some other cameras, but I have to recognize that for street Photography works pretty well
I loved this video. I just recently have gotten back into film photography with an inexpensive N6006, but I really want to locate a nice medium frame film camera! Thanks!
Great video! My fave 35 is a Nikon F3. Great camera and cheap enough to focus on getting some good glass.
My favorite, this is so hard since I love so many cameras, but it would be my Leica m6. It’s a beautiful little cameras that makes you want to take it everywhere, and also gets you excited to take pictures!
You have to have a camera to take a picture (duh), and a camera you always want to take it to everywhere would be the best camera!
