Thanks for the tips! I recently got the XP-PEN Pro tablet, I forget the model number, it's about the size of my iPad mini. It's supposed to have all the features for $35! But it doesn't seem to work with everything. I got it to use with Krita and it seems to work there well enough, I just need to practice with it more. I look forward to more videos like this. It's so much easier when all your tools work well together.
Hi Loren Sims! Thank you so much for watching and the great feedback! I'm curious to look more into XP-PEN - my biggest challenge with my current drawing tablet is that it feels unnatural. When drawing with traditional means (graphite, charcoal, etc.), the markings are on the page, within my field of view. With my digital drawing tablet, it's a little awkward draw on a different surface while watching my screen, separately. The XP-PEN looks to offer tablets with screens, which sounds SO much closer to the drawing experience. Thank you for the information!
Hi Scoutpandapal! Thank you for watching and for the feedback! I do agree with the critique - I've adjusted my lead in discussion in my latest videos to move quicker into the concept. Just for curiosity, were you able to try out using a digital pad in #Krita or #GIMP?
I have a 'one by wacom' tablet and cannot use the stylus to zoom in and out on the canvas. Changing what the buttons on the stylus does in the wacom settings seems to have no effect in gimp. Any clues?
I have an issue that every time i draw with the tablet on krita only it draws a straight line it uninstalled it and reinstalled it and its still the same
Hi Sadr4! Thank you so much for watching! I'd suggest taking a quick check on Krita's tablet documentation here (docs.krita.org/en/user_manual/drawing_tablets.html#drawing-tablets) - KDE offers some suggestions, as well as publishes the supported list of tablets - hope it helps!
Help, this thing doesn't letting me draw on krita even with that settings😭 When I try to slowly draw a small line pen instead of draw it- stops and shows pop-up palette and even when i turned palette off pen still stops in place and does not draw a line😭😭 I'm sorry if there are any mistakes here, I'm writing through Google translator💔
Hi Literally just rock! Sometimes the tablet drivers can have issues, depending on the operating system. It sounds either like the driver is misbehaving and may need to be reinstalled, or perhaps the pen controls are triggering an unwanted action with a button that could possibly be disabled in the tablet options - it sounds a bit like you already attempted the latter, but this may also stem back to the drivers. Hope that helps some!
Hi Crazy Owl! Thank you for watching! Just to confirm, which software (#Krita, #GIMP) and operating system (#Windows, #Linux) are you working with? The circumstances may be different depending on which things are in the mix. Just in case, Krita is a little more tablet friendly than GIMP, but it's possible to get things working generally in each. Also, for curiosity, does the tablet work as a "mouse" (move the pointer when the pen is used on the tablet)?
There is a app called virtual tablet, if you download it onto a laptop, and download it on your kindle, I think it could link up, but I don’t know how to connect that with krita
Hello i have a problem, when i try to use krita with my drawing tablet (Ugee M708) it looks like if i was drawing with the mouse and i tried on clip studio paint and it worked fine so i don't know what to do, is there anything i can do?
Hi GamingProCz! Thank you so much for checking out this video! Just for curiosity, is the trouble connecting the tablet within #Krita or #GIMP? For Krita, I'd suggest taking a quick check on Krita's tablet documentation here (docs.krita.org/en/user_manual/drawing_tablets.html#drawing-tablets) - KDE offers some suggestions, as well as publishes the supported list of tablets. For GIMP, this may be related to framework support (currently being improved), which is noted here - www.gimp.org/docs/userfaq.html#my-graphic-tablet-doesnt-work-on-windowsmac-does-gimp-support-advanced-input-devices-such-as-wacom - Hope it helps!
Thanks for that dynamics tip, was driving me crazy!
I had the exact same Graphics tablet, Huion H420

@@Photolearningism Yes, I tried one out in Krita, this tutorial helped!
Thanks buddy.
You helped me with gimp dynamics tweak (specially getting size and opacity both to work together with pressure).
I like and subscribed. This helped so very much, Thank you! ☺️👍🏾 ( Your channel deserves so much more love )
I really appreciate this man. Thank you
