Nice episode great tips Trim tab anode never heard of it Thanks for bringing that up. Can't wait to get me a tiller Had a console for 40 years maybe time to go shopping Keep em coming
Thanks for explaining the ease of the 90 hp tiller when properly trimmed. Most people who talk tiller don't explain the trim tab anode with the clarity which you did.
Love the idea of a tiller. I live over by Lake Michigan where Salmon trolling in 2+ foot waves is not uncommon. If you were to let go of the tiller while trolling, how does it track? Will the waves make it want to pivot? Is there any way to lock the motor down so turning is a bit stiffer?
Yes, Jordan there is an easy to use tension knob that you can tighten as needed for less or more movement. If I tighten it a bit, and would let go...it would not move. Even when it is loose it does not really move much at all. I will do a video on this for you this season - in heavy waves.
Love the idea of the tiller. I'm over in the Great Lakes where salmon trolling in 2+ foot waves isn't uncommon. If you were to let go of the tiller in large waves (when trolling), how does it track? Do waves want to push it back and forth? Is there a way to lock the motor down so it doesn't turn as easy?
If I were on the Great Lakes I would go with hydraulic steering so you could lock it. But regardless, the 895T tracks very well in heavy waves. It rides super strong in chop!
@@omieyouknowme I just use the helmet for driving when it’s cold, not while fishing haha so it doesn’t get in the way of seeing fish. Yes you will get hit with rain more while driving a tiller…but you gain that space giving up the windshield
David thank you! Yes, the starboard side electronics in the rear are just an awesome location. What specifically would you like to know? I would love to answer any question you might have. Thanks!
Excellent summary of advantages of a tiller boat. You sound like an old "spoonplugger" talking about feeling the bottom with your lure and making hairpin turns to follow the weed line. And it's not the boat that follows the weed line; it's the lure that should follow it. Thank you for *not * saying "coWnsole". It is a console.

Thanks Dave! Yes the trim tab anode really helps with torque pressure - even on a console

Great video Chas! Speaking of which, Purdue football needs to get back to the Tiller lifestyle!
LOL! At least Aidan O’Connell is looking good
Love the outboard
Thanks Brad!
Love my 1890 Pro V Tiller
That’s awesome!!! Gorgeous boat!

There is a tension lever that you can lock it down with.

I fish Erie with a 90 tiller. It took me two seasons before I broke down and got a Uflex ZTF system.
My current 1775 Pro Guide has more room than my old 20’ console boat.
tiller life dude!
How slow can you get the big motor down to when trolling? Always curious of that.
Love my tiller, want a hard top or windshield but tiller just wont let go.
Nothing that a snowmobile helmet can’t fix !
@@MuskyMastery can't see the fish then. Heated grip helps but ya need some gear or a way to keep from getting wet when it gets rough.

@@MuskyMastery ya prob why I have two tillers and looking at a third tinny he he. Tight lines
Is it a fairly dry ride in rough water?
Yes. Absolutely dry. I will film a video of the 895T in rough water this season for you.
Thanks
Tillers are the best for fishing,, when is recon coming to Europe.?.?
I’ll forward this to Recon! Hopefully soon! :)
I thought it was interesting where you. Have your electronics mounted can you tell us about it

It's not mounted port side tho?
@@dank5580 lol!! Editing my response. Thank you 🙏🏻

You’re right on the money man! Well said. Lure follows the weed line. The boat allows this to happen.
I couldn’t imagine the using graphs on that side seems so unnatural while driving
Try it out some time. You’d be surprised
It’s the same place they’d be in a console. Just a tiller setup
Meanwhile my tracker 90hp sc you need 2 hands to turn left
Is that bc the steering is difficult?
Tracker…. That’s why LOL
Real men use a tiller.
Just figured I’d start some trouble.

@@steelerfaninerie hahahahaha I love it! Well, I guess we will see if anyone bites :)
@
Probably a lot easier than getting a musky to bite.
The price of boats is insane crazy too high. Boat dealers have taken advantage of legalized marijuana ( they must be high)
Prices on EVERYTHING are high lol
tiller for the win!
DUDE!! You know it haha. You just cannot beat a tiller for fishing functionality!
