    I made this turkey recipe and it was GORGEOUS. So tasty and easy to do. I've been making seitan for over a decade and this recipe (and your hotdog) recipe are just amazing. Thank you!

    omg, I made this with all my homemade herbs etc. wrapped in parchment. Was the bomb. was able to slice on my mamdolin, thanks

    I am trying out this recipe right now, I will update you with how it turned out!
    Edit: it didn't work for me, I essentially got bread and had to throw the whole loaf away as it was nearly inedible. I will have to try again.
    Edit 2: I left it covered for 50 minutes and uncovered for 10, and decreased the temp to 160C, and it was a great success! I love this recipe, can‘t wait to play around with different rubs.

      hi! anytime ANY stein comes out with a bread texture it is because it cooked too hot ALWAYS! you need to get an oven thermometer to check the true temp or bump it down 25 degrees, keep it wrapped 45 minuets and opened 10-15 and that will fix it

    This is much easier than the hand kneading. I'm going to use 1/2 for deli and 1/2 for fried chicken. Fingers crossed!

    What is hilarious to me is, the way you keep looking back like you have to make this recipe before you are caught by the enemy! It's so cute and hilarious at the same time I'm almost through the video but I just had to stop at the point where you're talking about the aluminum foil because if I could count how many times you looked back to see who was coming! Lol anyway let me finish the video I'm sure it's all great!

    Thank you for the troubleshooting at the end! I just made this and came here to see if it was supposed to bubble on the top like that 😂 Ah well. Can’t wait until tomorrow to see how it tastes! And next time I’ll try to cook it longer wrapped than unwrapped to see if that helps. Thanks again!

    I’m in the middle of making this for the first time and I’m really nervous how it’s going to turn out! It seemed like a LOT of tofu and not much VWG...it smelled very tofu-y. My dough also didn’t look as smooth as yours despite running my food processor for a good while, so I hope it’s not going to be full of tofu chunks. 😩 Lastly, my oven is notorious for running hot and ruining things. 😣 I’ve set it much lower than the dial says and plan on cooking it low-and-slow…keep your fingers crossed for me that it turns out edible! 😅

    I tried a recipe similar to this from the Seitan Society. The result was that it tasted like an old rubber ball. I told them so, too. In fact, no recipe which specifies tofu has ever tasted good. Could it be the difference of baking it instead of cooking it in an Instant Pot? Well, I can confidently state that steamed tofu-whatever isn't worth setting out for the critters.

    Every time I cook or bake in the kitchen, I wear a full knit hat that acts as a hair net. I then am confident about serving the food to my family. When watching the many food-based Hallmark movies around Christmas, I am constantly distracted by the lack of hair nets. Does anyone else feel this way?

      You're probably the only one, but good for you. Not many people care that much when they're preparing food for their own family. Not many people grew up wearing hair nets while cooking home cooked meals for their family, so this is probably why that's not an issue for anyone. But I'm sure many get what you are saying.

      yes I do but wrap it tight and I am not sure what temp that would cook at to advise how long to cook it.

    I don't recommend using your food processor to knead for 1 minute. It broke mine and mines was 🤦‍♀️new🤦‍♀️

    omg.more gluten and soy.most meat eaters reject these.we need to get creative and find substitutes so people stop eating animals
