    You are the man Billy. What you say about using your brain being good for you is much deeper than stating the obvious, but probably lost on most! It's only when buggering about with a piece of wire and some tools you're gonna get those AHA moments that make you realise the reasons you are doing this is much more than saving money. Always reaching for your pack of breakaway thingamabobs is just being stuck is 1st gear. Being creative is what brings us closer to our creator. Keep rocking brother, you're friggin amazing!

    I use a swivel instead of a link at the end of my shock leader. It can fit through all rod rings.
    And at the top of my rigs I use a link instead of a swivel.

      Hi Billy, great video!
      I do the same, and since I started making the links following your advice it’s all the better because I only need one swivel per reel, I can make multiple links for very little money. I use a small bit of silicone tube on each one, get it from an aquarium supplies shop for about a euro a meter, it makes the link very secure

    Very nice! Short video, straight to the point! I like it! But im raterded (its not a typo its youtube policy...) I use and love Vanfook Cork Swivel $$$ (for terminal tackle jigs and lures). Also ill make Portugese/triangular "lead" from Iron bar (100-200g), for the ecology stand point of lost weight, still aerodynamic, rust is good for saltwater, lead is ... meh. But at the end, we all loose tackle in the sea, i have the chance (and i hate it, i want structure, more fish) of flat sand beach in west France... I love you Billy, nice video! I want more of your tackle tips & tricks! 😚😘

    Im like you Billy, hate cutting my link of my shock leader every time. I use Gemini Swivel 'N' Link clips. They are very slim, strong and tangle free. They fit through even the smallest tip rings. I also when packing up feed the line through the first few rings by hand. Great idea for the weak bottom clip.

    • @Billyfishing_watch
      @Billyfishing_watch  4 дні тому

      Hi Warren. As it goes I used to use them too! But when I fished marks that were popular, sometimes they would snarl in old fishing line. But that was the only downside. Thanks Brother 😁👌

      No need brother! The tackle I make is far superior to anything you can get, and much cheaper. Also there is no quick link on the market that will fit through every one of my rods. But thanks for the tip brother 👌

    Like that Billy. Greetings from Aus. I use your version of the dingle dangle here for smoothound (gummy) as the Aussies call them.Just wondering whether the dingle dangle could go direct to the lead main stem for the cast with open eye so as to drop the dingle dangle, and use the bait clip with an enclosed eye to hold your manufactured clip. Just thinking about the balance in the cast.

    • @rdesign2753
      @rdesign2753 4 дні тому

      @@Billyfishing_watch so what I'm thinking, unless im' having a mad one, when you make the stem have the open eye on the long part, dingle dangle goes on that, and your breakway clip conncted to your rig body hooks onto the the shorter stem with which has an enclosed eye. I'll get a chance later and have a play around with my home made leads.

    • @Billyfishing_watch
      @Billyfishing_watch  4 дні тому

      You have me intrigued now! I have some designs where the hook goes on the end of the tail wire. What I mean is, instead of having two components on the sinker! It only has one. The tail wire and the bike clip are incorporated into the same piece of steel. The hook goes at the top, and a Kerry loop for the rig goes below. Sometimes I use sinkers with a short tail wire, and the bait clip stands proud of that!. It can be hard to explain what's going on with words sometimes, so if you have an Instagram or messenger account, maybe you could send me a short video of what you mean! You will find my details on my channel page. 👌

    • @rdesign2753
      @rdesign2753 4 дні тому

      Having the dingle dangle centred on the main lead stem, I would think give less resistance on the cast compared to clipped up off centre on the shorter clip. Also, thinking out loud, conventionally the lead remains attached to the rig body ( via wrotten bottom link) on the centre stem, but if it’s attached to the shorter off centre stem via your home made clip then if a pickup occurs the lead could be fixed really close to the lead, possibly acting like a cog lead in carp fishing, almost bringing the whole lead into play on a pickup, dragging it sideways rather than along its centre of gravity through the main stem.

    Good video mate. Most of this stuff can be got dirt cheap on temu I use there copy's of Gemini rotten bottom releases and there just as good get about 50 for 5euro, also very good for the links you make there cheaper buy on on there, also most of the hooks are grand on that site mate tightlines amigo

    • @Billyfishing_watch
      @Billyfishing_watch  4 дні тому +1

      You can't buy what I make on any Chinese platform! You can buy links and clips and rotten bottoms. But they are not bespoke to my tackle like the ones I make. But thanks for the tip 😁👌

      @Billyfishing_watch yes your right the stuff on temu are good for bass ,up to snapper I wouldn't use it for anything really big I should have stated, for the less powerful fish temu will save you money ,for the big stuff make it yourself will safe you alot of money, it's down to common sense really tightlines amigo
