She looks and sings in such a way as if the Goddess Saraswati is singing herself. I never hope to see anybody else who is so close to personifying the art of music in such a pure form and at the same time looking like the purest form of beauty. I am really at a loss of word to describe my feelings.

Sound mixing and fine tune needs to be settled much before the concert begins.
These failures does makes a lot of difference to the Performer but also to the Listeners at large. Sound system is the medium needs to be managed professionally.
I love her and her companions as they set my soul free. I am so in love with the melody and the power of her voice pushing the volumes and the waves through my ears. I am in tears writing this because my heart and soul is at peace with each other now. Bless her and her mother as her first guru and her teachers for doing such a beautiful job. You have love in Fresno California!!!

She is the best. Her GURU also need to be complimented so I compliment him also. The country is proud of she and her voice and art.
Simply stated, "bhava" refers to the condition that, for example, a romantic rendition should not be rendered as if it is "pathetic" one and vice versa, or that the words should not be dismembered to the point of distorting the meaning intended by the author! "Swara Prasthara" has nothing to do with 'bhAva". It is exclusively concerned with the requirement that the "swaras" are in perfect conformity with the "murchana" of the rAga that is being sung/played, and that are not corrupted in any way by unduly mixing it up with other rAgas. With my very little knowledge of classical music, I have to state that Kaushiki did a phenomenal job by preserving the purity of swaras 1000 per cent, regardless the uncalled for aberrations expressed by a few commentators!! I do, of course, admit their right to freedom of expression!!! Should we treat the applause by the audience as an infirmity on the part of the Artist? Then there will be no artist at all!!
Madam is a gifted person. My mother used to call such persons as Gandharvamsha Sambhutharu. This word Gandharva is enough to explain her. Nothing more to write. Those who listen can appreciate nuances of Hindusthani music.
It is a shame that there are any empty seats in a modest sized concert hall in a performance by such a gifted artist. Is it all zero and one's in this software capital?

I am amused to see some comments relating to the so-called "bhava" in a "swara prasthAra", except for the fact that the commentator wants to be more visible by saying something against an otherwise outstanding presentation. "Bhava" has application to the text of lyrics and not to "swara prasthara"!! I may be wrong and stand for correction!!

She is a highly gifted musician and manages often to surprise her listeners by variations sheattempts .Her performances have very significantly matured are now brilliant
You have no idea how annoying it is to see the artist request adjustment of acoustics for the her, the harmonium, supporting vocalist repeatedly... Can't they get someone competent :(
Kaushiki would have sung much better Yaman, if it were not for the lack of ability to adjust the acoustics...

jay nadig true but we do not have the rears for purity in sur andd goonj or in otherwords the listening culture and t we care little for relation between bhaav and purity of sur; only when voice culture and listening is practiced the sound technician will set up trhe required sound ambience
jay nadig I agree. I have seen that happen in a zakir hussain concert where he has constantly talk to the sound guy at the back to take care of the acoustics. Once he was so annoyed with the sound that he asked that all mic and sound system be killed. The venue was a church and he asked all the audience to just huddle close to the stage and he played without Mic. While it was a annoying interruption and I felt the sam as to how bad it is that there is no competent person at the venue to match the artist's calibre. But that night was a magical exception as I was able to literally sit at his feet and hear his tabla. I always wonder how many concerts are wasted in India and Abroad as a result of incompetent sound or bad sound equipment or even bad acoustics at the venue. Really sad.

It is not a disrespect but your enjoyment goes for a toss. Real core artists e.g. Kishori Amonkar, Bhimsen Joshi , Kesarbai Kerkar always cared for Bhava and not gallary. I feel a very talented artist like Kaushiki should not bow to gallery

+Aniruddha Deshmukh Yes, an artist of her caliber should definitely go for bhava. But the tendency to hit the Sa of the ati-taar saptak can be found in other artists of the Patiala Gharana, including the great Bade Ghulam Ali Khan himself.

In a live concert acoustics need to be adjusted and tested before the concert. It is very irritating to the artiste and the audience to have to constantly be requesting to adjust during the performance. Artiste loses her concentration and performance suffers.

I have never heard An Artiste like Kaushiki Chakraborthy always with smiling face as per the liking of the audience. Even in Delhi programme she was looking her child and was singing with concentration.

In Tamil Nadu we have KB ( the famous Karnatic Veena vidhwan (exponent), KB Sundarambal with the bell ringing sharp voice - singer and actor, and KB - K Balachandar the famous film director and producer. All are past masters. Now we have KC - KushIK Chakraborthy - Divine voice and singing and a gracious, pride less beauty! May KC concert resonate in every part of the world!

I'd love to have a good quality recording of this as well. There's a lot of distortion in this recording unfortunately. When she sings louder it is overmodulated (level too high, causing distortion) Such great musicianship deserves better (though I've heard much worse!)

There is something extraordinarily virgin about Kaushiki in giving every raag every time a new abode in the aural mandala. The year of performance pales beyond recall. Like flowers with silver dews are my eyes sensing the moist solemn stillness she grants afresh and after that spell of hers the pavilion of the humdrum world is too bare to bear with.

its a foolishness. there is no bhakti and bhava in any kind of songs may be classical or light or bhakti sangeeta. voice culture is not a solution for all. voice culture is a support to the sangeeta. one should not perform like our mind. it should reach a hearts of all. there is no perfection. sorry to say this.
It is not Bipasha De but her daughter Taneesha De... She is doing difficult sargams but it not so tuneful to my ear . This is as good as the other performances.
