  • Recorded on Australian National Television, this is 'Australia's King of Country Rock" and Piano Man, JADE HURLEY and his band "live" version of the classic "Johnny B. Goode" a 1958 rock-and-roll song written and first recorded by Chuck Berry. Released as a single, it peaked at number two on Billboard magazine's Hot R&B Sides chart and number eight on its Hot 100 chart. Written by Berry in 1955, the song is about a semi-literate "country boy" from the New Orleans area, who plays a guitar "just like ringing a bell", and who might one day have his "name in lights". Berry acknowledged that the song is partly autobiographical and that the original lyrics referred to Johnny as a "colored boy", but he changed it to "country boy" to ensure radio play. As well as suggesting that the guitar player is good, the title hints at autobiographic elements, because Berry was born at 2520 Goode Avenue, in St. Louis. "Johnny B. Goode" is considered one of the most recognizable songs in the history of popular music and is ranked seventh on Rolling Stone's list of the "500 Greatest Songs of All Time". Musicians in the video are ... Piano and lead vocal: Jade Hurley, Keyboards: Peter Forrell (Deceased), Bass: Ken Churchill (Deceased), Drums: Rex Forbes, Electric Guitar and Backup Vocals: Brian Gillette and J.J. Horne Backup Vocals and Tamborine.

Hi Jade, I hope this message finds you well. I'm not sure if you remember me, but you might remember my father Herbert.
It's been many years since you guys have been in contact, but I wanted to let you know that dad has been diagnosed with vascular dementia and it has progressed quite aggressively over the years.
I just wanted to let you know that although he cannot speak anymore, I play your videos for him and it brings me joy to see that he remembers you and seeing you perform makes him smile.
We hope you are doing well and my mum Add sends her regards. She has fond memories of you too.
    All the best, Natasha.
