There’s a guy in lake villa Illinois that custom makes these! He’s famous in my hometown just because of it! 120 minutes out side of Chicago, he’s a legend! Hope he’s still putting out cars 💪
@@Menacemotors general lees heaven, is the business name if I remember right! It’s right next to the car museum in lake villa Illinois from the looks of it he’s still making cars too this day! @@guyknightley3499 👍i feel your pain... but keep in mind, there were millions upon millions of those cars built. a few dozen crashed for a TV wouldn't put a dent in the population. besides, those cars in the show were not new or mint vehicles, from what i understand they were already toast. i don't know if you're old enough to remember, back then cars rusted like crazy. those cars are mostly gone because in 1969 there was almost no rust proofing, so they rotted away in 10 years. that, and the rubber suspension parts and isolation bushings wore out much quicker so they often went to the scrap yard because the ride went to shit at 100k miles... the Dodge V8's while very good, only gave so much hope. i remember, that was the era of cars that almost put Chrysler out of business. and i think one of the presidents had a "buy back beaters" program that sucked up a lot of otherwise classic cars, too.
As a lumber yard delivery guy/ kid I ran across one of the originals and a little later had the opportunity to purchase it, but couldn't afford to at the time. I wish I would have, because the price now would be outstanding. Nice ride. The one I found in the mid 90's was in Pampa Texas.
I remember my neighbor in 1979 got a New ford van an painted those hurricane wheels black in the inside i think i even helped it was such a upgraded from the original look..then he put 4 6x9 new jenson tri axle speakers in the rear door...an 2 in the front doors an we blast our drywall job out with...1000 watt amp....he was pretty far ahead for his time..simple mods..he built a job radio later was so big an power we could use it as a drywall bench to nail sheetrock up...hed put it in the great room with a 30 foot high ceiling an shake the whole house with Zepp skynyrd kanzas doors all day..no commercials back when the music matter...i had a 70 Dodge challenger....an i drove it like Bo...but never thought of jumping it i seen that nose crunch..an had enuf sense to know that big jump wasted a car body...the first jump they did the stunt man broke his back...landing flat....ground

Years ago I was walking along the main road in Matlock Derbyshire when out of the blue the General Lee drove past. It was both surreal and wonderful.
Finally, someone with knowledge of the uncontrollable and unchained power of classic American muscle
