This stuff is basically an acrylic-based floor polish, so any acrylic-base polish of any brand should work. An acrylic brush-on paint sealer like Decoart Duraclear will work too, perhaps better as it has less additives, but that's way more expensive.
Super glue can work better, especially for the pop-apart ball joints that Transformers use, but it's riskier with joints you can't take apart.

    • @wesitron

Yeah I fixed a lot of Transformers Animated ball joints with super glue. Worked pretty well, but on more complex joints, I find this to be much less risky. Thanks for sharing your insight!

Thank you for this guide. I love changing the poses of my figures, and I feel some of the joints loosening up, and I'm slowly getting afraid to touch them. Now I don't have to be.

Looks like this is a good choice. When I was a kid and had braces I used to use the tiny rubber bands they give you and wrap them tight around joints, problem is depending on the joint it can stick out like a sore thumb! Great video!

Polyurathane is the stuff in floor polish that works. You can buy pints of it at hardware stores for $18-$20. They make a triple thick polyurathane which might work better with one use instead of having to do miltiple coats. Also heard of some called polycrylic. Has a mixture of acrylic and polyurathane. Im going to try the polycyrlic next.

Do you by any chance know how to fix gummy joints? Marvel Legends really suffers from this syndrome unfortunately. The leg joints are usually super warped and kind of bendy. It’s incredibly annoying to collect figures like that, I’ve tried some remedies, but none are successful. I was hoping u had some trick up your sleeve, since this video did help me out a lot. Thanks anyways and keep up the great work;)

As long as they have Fewture Floor Polish in the formula, then they should be okay, but I believe Pledge owns the rights to that now. The Fewture ingredient adds a layer of acrylic to create more friction. Other people have used clear nail polish instead. You can also use super glue, but there is a much higher chance that the joint will become fused and render it useless.

I have a 2013 Datong super Saiyon vegeta and he has horribly loose joints such as ball joints Much similar to the green ranger. The loose joints are in the arms and legs. It is so bad that the limbs cannot be moved upward without them falling back to their resting place. Would you suggest I do this. Are there any risks? I just don't want to ruin the figure. Thanks for the video and I hope you see this.

Does the brand of the floor polisher ACTUALLY matter?
I'm sure all brands of the same TYPE of product have the same general ingredients in them and do the same job for it's intended purpose.
So a different brand of floor polisher should work the same on action figures as this right?
Just asking because my local supermarket doesn't have this exact bottle and every video like this says you HAVE to use this one.

Don't want to devalue my figures when teflon tape is another option. However I like this better and want to do it if there isn't any long term damage.

If I were you, I'd turn the figure upside down so that his feet were facing me, drip the polish into the hip joints, wipe away any excess, then repeat until the joints are tight. You'll just have to watch to make sure none seeps out the sides, and if it does, just wipe it away before it starts to dry. Good luck!

I have a bootleg figma hatsune miku and i wonder if this would work on smooth plastic and does it specifically need pledge as its brand?

Since we don't have that product in this country, my wife suggested I use nail polish. Might just work...
