- As a request from Jourdain Andrade, Steve goes over how to tighten and loosen joints on some NECA and SH MonsterArts figures. In this video you will see the Hair Dryer technique for loosening joints and the Nail Polish and Floor Cleaner technique for tightening joint. Please enjoy!

Tip for loose ball joints, I find that it works better if you apply nail polish or even super glue to just the brim of the socket (not the entire inside) Ball joints that fall off easily, but arent necessarily loose, is because the socket doesnt grasp around the ball enough. Having a slight build up of super glue or nail polish just around the edge of the socket helps to keep the ball in the socket. I hope that made sense
glue gun works too , easy to get rid off too
Thanks Steve. I used nail polish to tighten my S.H Monsterarts Spacegodzilla's right forearm and left arm, they were both swivel joints. It also tightened my S.H Monsterarts Destoroyah's wing in the base connecting ball joint.

Thanks for this! I would’ve never thought of nail polish! My Monster Arts Biollante’s vines always want to fall off every time I so much as bump them, same with my Monster Arts Nargacuga’s back foot. I’ll try this out!
So that's how you tighten joints, very imformative this will definately help with my arcade appearance alien and the resurrection one their legs be kicking like crazy

Hopefully I can use the hair dryer technique on my new horizon brave I got out of the packaging. Pretty much all of his joints are incredibly stiff apart from the joint connecting his left arm.
Should work fine, just heat them up an work them in.

You have any recommendations on stands for the Jaegers? (preferably the ones that grip around the waist).

They also have a normal stand coming out but I would have to see it in practice before recommending it.

Great video but my problem is on my spider man figures at crunch is extremely lose and I can Barley get him to stand. Do you have any ideas to get it tighter

Thanks for this. New to collecting NECA and Phantom of the Opera Casey Jones is my sixth. No problems until now, but I've had issues with his hands.. They fit into the arm just fine, but they're limp and just rotate while holding his hockey sticks. Gonna' try this once I'm home.

Any chance you could do a tutorial on how to fix uneven leg joints. A lot of my more recent Neca figures have had this problem of one leg being slightly longer than the other and I was wondering if there was any way to fix it
Yes! One of their legs is shorter than the other, and both of their feet's too long.
I recently got a NECA Cherno Alpha figure online. It was stiff out of the box, but I was able to loosen most of the joints just by moving them. However, I cannot get the ball joint between the pelvis and the torso to budge, and the plastic seems to flex when I apply pressure. Is there a way I can loosen the joint without breaking it?
To make it tighter, use the pledge on both ball joint and ball socket.

steve i have question/s for you where can you find pledge floor care if i cant find a brand of that cleaning product can i use other brands
I know Walmart has Pledge but as long as the product has a wax finish it should be fine.
Is there an alternative to using pledge floor cleaner?

Try the paper method for ball joints like you put the paper on the hole and then it should be good keep adding papers if its still loose like 1 layer or 2 or 3
I saw a video kinda like this and one of the extra ways to loosen a joint is to use liquid dish soap sounds weird but still works :)

My Neca Godzilla 2019 V2 has a loose ball joint neck so I will use this technique you do in the neca 1994 but it nots work any technique you can tell me pls

My SH MonsterArts G2000 has a very very loose ball joint. Any slight movement to the tail will pop it off and it's a pain is ass to put back on. I tried doing the clear nail polish trick but it was still loose. Any tips to help???

My S.H MonsterArts Godzilla (2019) head is loose like any movement and pop it falls down. I don’t have any nail polish so can I use liquid glue “Krazy Glue” to be exact and apply it to the necks ball joint and leave it to dry? Or will that not work?

Having some trouble with my Spiked Tail and Clan Leader predators. Their forearm peg joints seem to be fused. I've tried to heat them with a blow dryer but no luck. Any ideas?

Does it have to be any clear nail polish? And what clear nail polish brand did you use? Because I’m using L.A. COLORS nail treatment BASECOAT TOPCOAT primes & protects nails dries to a high gloss finish 0.44 FL. 0Z. (13 ML) to fix my first S.H. Monsterarts Godzilla 1989 action figure. The problem is that the my figures hand joint keeps popping off easily and the arm,the right leg,the full right arm,the tail, and the head.
As someone that really only has it in his budget for NECA, I've lost at least 2 or 3 Xenomorphs over the years from ridiculously stiff joints. I had that Super Sized Alien for Christmas when I was younger, and had to ask my uncle to try and pop in the torso to the hips. He tried for 20 minutes, and looked at me like I was crazy for even wanting that thing. The Woes of being a child collector and not understanding these things

How do I heat up my sh monsterarts godzilla 2019 shoulders? The joint isnt really exposed and is being covered by the actual shoulders themselves and there's only a small gap between shoulders and body, do I just keep aiming the hair dryer at the shoulder?
Pretty much. You can also run some hot water over the joint to try to loosen it that way as well.

What kind of joint is land Otachi's shoulder? Mine are super loose, I've tried using a hair dryer to loosen it and pull it off to use the clear nail polish, but it didn't want to come off, and I was hesitant to pull too hard...
He has a ball joint at the shoulder. One going into the shoulder and one going into the body

thanks for the information, how long does it take to melt the figure using a hair dryer? I used the dryer about 2 minutes and I feel that I damaged the figure, I bought the tf2 blue soldier
usually I don't go over 15 sec when trying to use a hair dyer. Doing it for 2 minutes could cause damage.

Yeah, it's all just clear coat so any should be fine. I use a pretty cheap version myself.

might I suggest a small drop of RC silicon shock oil for tight joints? has helped me loosen majority of tight joints in my third-party Transformers.
Wouldn't oil degrade plastic?

It kinda worked for my neca gmk I think this is for looser looser joints like the 94 goji head not the wiggly gmk torso

Super Glue will make the joint un-movable.

Being a manly man, I don't know much about nail polish. Does any generic brand work (CVS, Target, etc.) or do I need something fancy like Maybelene or Revlon?

I can't find anything online. I'm actually having a problem with a neca predator. How do I go about fixing a "gummy"? Joint. Like when it's stuck but the peg itself is soft so it twists. I resets slowly. I tried the hot water but it just seems like its gonna rip off
I had the same issue with a Romeo Blue figure. It eventually loosened after some heat, but it was terrifying.

I never found Floor wax or clear nail polish really do the trick for more then a few months, it always flakes off and causes the figure to be loose again. One permanent trick was using Krazy glue it bulids a layer of plastic around the joint, but u have to be very careful. Ive been using that instead of Clear nail polish or floor wax. Ive done this with figure that are 10 plus years old and the joints are still tight after all those years. Never had that effect with the clear polish or wax. Thats my experience anyway. Good video regardless........
i bought an old Model of Marvel Select, the Black panther, its new, but its Left, elbow and wrist joint, wont even move a bit. visually it seems like its glued together, would the Hair dryer work? if it didnt, what else can you suggest bro? thanks!
I would try the hair dryer on it. It will soften the glue if there is any in it.

I recently got a comicon exclusive oarnge sh monsterarts godzilla and a loot rate exclusive glow in the dark NECA godzilla figure. Both have joints that are pretty tight(for the NECA one it's mostly the point where the tail meets the torso and for the other one it's the limbs that cause trouble) do you have any advice on how to deal with these specific areas? Also, I've purchased some aliens genocide figures that are pretty stiff. How do I deal with that?

Well, my main concern is the NECA godzilla. The joint is covered by the tail so I'm not sure if a dryer can get to it, and I'm somewhat concerned that hot water would get rid of the glow in the dark effect. I can try it on my comic con godzilla, but the reactor glow one I'm not sure if I want to try it yet.

Any kind of floor polish could work. You primarily need something that dries fast.

The knee on my neca shin godzilla is completely stuck. I think its stuck with paint, will this video help?
Same tactics. You need to try and work the joint in order to get the paint to scrap out of the joint, which I would try and heat it up to loosen it and just slowly work the leg.

Hey! I have a Question that google hasn't been able to help me with.. So today I got my FIRST Neca figure. I got an Ultimate Freddy Krueger part 2 figure! Freddy came with two right hands. When I went to take his default right hand off so I could apply the other hand, the little balljoint and peg came off IN the hand! So in order to get the secondary hand in, I have to remove the peg from the default hand and as you all know, the peg is tiny... Any suggestions?:/ Thanks fellas
Heat up the hand with a hair dryer, then remove the peg with the help of some pliers.

It won't work as well getting into the joints, also will make a huge shiny mess out of that leg.
