    The 10mm bolt with the blue paint marker on the bottom of the carb will do the same job with the off/start/run lever.

      I like your way better. You clean out that bowl from the carb for sure facilitating a greater chance of restart next time. This guy's idea is good though.

    Good video and I used it, but I think you need just one more step. After you drain it you should either run it until the fuel runs out of the carburetor bowl or loosen that bolt on the bottom of the carburetor and let it run out of the float bowl. Thanks for the info because the manual refers to figures that are not there.

      Yes correct. thank you for adding that step on after draining

    Please remake this so it’s not so unclear. Start at the beginning and show us how to do it step by step instead of pointing at what you did already please. Thanks a lot if you can

    Please show where that fuel line is to disconnect from the carburetor-I literally can’t find where that is and can’t find a figure anywhere to show me

      Same here. He didn’t show that part. Just assumed we know where it is

      Sure! if you follow the fuel line from top of the tank it will lead to connection on carburetor. Ill work on an updated version if that helps

    Geez what a hassle lol! I can just disconnect the fuel line to the carb, put that inside a container for fuel and just open the fuel stopcock.

    Can you do another video where you put the fuel runs back in? Where does that top fuel line that you used to drain go too when the generator is functioning?

    • @TrevorChap
      @TrevorChap  Рік тому

      it is actually attached to carburetor. If you follow steps backwards that is how everything was connected when I started generator

      So that line goes near that on/off switch and the other line that was altered goes to that back box on the lower left below the OHV symbol?

    Yes, it is too bad Ryobi does not have better instructions on this. The method shown in this short takes a long, long time to drain the tank, but there is "control" on the flow, where as the method by "dirtyaznstyle4156" is a bit more messy in that one has to be quick when taking the fuel line off at the point of the fuel controller and getting that line into a container/gas can with such a short hose line.

      Yeah always good to have options on reaching the same outcome.

    I have the same model..brand new first time use....just put like 5 gal in there when our power went out thanks to hurricane Ian...and 90 min later power came back on...no I have to siphon all that gas out! Not sure I feel comfortable removing the fuel line from the carburetor...but we'll see!

    • @TrevorChap

      I was the same way. It was very easy, but they do sell hand pumps to help drain gas lines.

      @@TrevorChap do I have to actually turn it on or just switch from off to run. Maybe a sealy question but since I don’t hear the machine I can’t seem to figure out if is on or not?

    • @TrevorChap
      @TrevorChap  Рік тому

      @@lushkamartinez418 you do not have to start the generator with the pull string. Simply turn switch to run and that will open valve.

    I have the 5500 which is similar. Is it possible to show how to disconnect the fuel lines? I have never done this before.

    • @TrevorChap
      @TrevorChap  Рік тому

      it should be the same. I didn't see a difference in their setups. Just find the carburetor line and the fuel line.

    How long does this take for all of the gas to run out in a full tank?

    • @TrevorChap
      @TrevorChap  Рік тому +1

      For me it took 40 min on a full to brim tank. I had to monitor because I had to switch gas cans
