Another tip with floor traps you can bait out the spikes by walking on them and quickly backpeddling off them. As soon as they go down, they don't activate for about half a second, which is enough time to walk about halfway past it and jump across the rest of the way without taking any damage.
the nonchalant-ness of the commentary made the jokes oddly funny. 10/10 will watch again
that ending was anxiety inducing, what a great run

Ranger gets a pretty clutch heal from the cleric at 7:40 , that's why he didn't die on the next hit, or from poison. At the end, you could jump crouch on the portal and spiders can't hit. Keep up the awesome content!

felt so weak compared to other classes in this playtest with minimum gear set rogue gameplay and meanwhile I'm beaming groups on fighter and cleric so I felt discouraged to play but seeing how you play with ZERO loot is definitely refreshing and awesome so now I have to play some rogue again, great video man!

Hey, im pretty new to the game, but something i tested and worked: You can jump on top of a portal to open it, the spiders cant hit you when you are there
Hell yea man, welcome!! And good shit man :D love when lads figure out the lil tricksies ;D to celebrate heres a lil tip from a vet, you can stand on the wall torches! Makes you untargetable for certain enemies ;) saayy certain enemies that dont have a high vertical slash, (skele champ)

You can interact with the secret chest in the library without jumping over the spikes. Just position yourself between the right trap and the wall and get as close to the chest as possible.

I love the feeling of going from nothing to juiced in a single run. I tend to do that a lot. Dumped like 5k in high roller runs and had to build my way back

I wish I had seen this sooner, I only started this demo and friends have been too busy to party with me most days, so I leveled up to 20 and built up my first 1k gold just learning how to loot and get out solo with base gear/bringing nothing.

Watched a video with subtitles and definitely prefer commentary
Maybe do up a series called double or nothing. start out with starter gear, never bank, sell the gear you don't need and buy the gear you do. and keep going in to see how strong you can get.

you can avoid the spike trap chest in the library by standing just in the corner of the right most trap, closest to the chest.
You should do 1 with the starting dagger just to show how to use it

For future reference, if spiders are stopping u from activating a portal, jump on top of it and u can safely open it that way

tbh i havent ran goblin cave much but it felt like i wasn't getting as much loot as the standard dungeon

Awesome vid and cool concept! the little tips like the throwing knife into the spider pot is really useful too :D. Is it worth buying more/better throwing knives or is it too expensive for the value?
when i go highroller i usually buy blue throwing knives, people sell them for 50g per 3. otherwise, i just use the throwing knives that i've looted
it does only take the two knives you spawn with to break a pot, but you have to be careful because it takes more sometimes when they land inside the pot.

Throwing knives are a game changer, they slow when they hit a target, good for kiting/,chasing

Ngl as someone checking out a new game I really wish they would do away with the shrinking safe area, imo it's not really fun, I much prefer an overall time limit to a raid similar to eft that way I can explore places.

No idea if this was mentioned but a tip. You can jump on top of the portal and the spiders cannot attack you while you're opening it.

finally nice to see a decent solo play for a change. tired of all the other videos of guys playing in a 3 man stomping solo pubs and talking up how good they are.
Which skill is better to use, rupture or weakpoint? or are they situational?
Rupture is flat damage, weak point is weapon based, and enemy armor based.
Weakpoint is usually worse early and only over takes it late vs tanks

how do I break barrels with rogue
Does rogue suck until you get to higher levels? You must choose between walking while invis (very good) or doing poison damage (also good) while Ranger and Barbarian start off quite good.
levels help a lot, but even level 1 just taking rupture+poisoned weapon is a pretty good amount of damage

@@Repoze Isnt rupture kinda meh? The way its worded it seems like if you hit them immediately after landing it you'll remove the bleed. It's more of a kiting ability I think? I guess starting off with nothing it's good but the armor shred one is certainly better once geared I'd think.
@@Leinnn just had my first successful goblin cave run. Didn’t collect a single piece of loot, just snuck around and ran into a wizard who fireballed me so I ran away and stalked him then used stealth to kill him, then took his loot. I got 128 gold from the stuff he looted lol, I guess it’s time to stop looting chests and start looting players.
@@robforskinstein Yeah I got that kinda vibe too when watching his gameplay... I seem to be killing 5x more mobs than he is 🤣
Is rapier the preferred weapon for pvp cause of the range?
yeah for solo rogue the range is needed to fight barbs/fighters imo
O thought so - been running daggers alot and fights against barbs are super hard lol
It's pretty much preferred in general IMO. The damage bonus talent isn't worth the crap range on daggers.
Now if you can get the absolute drop on someone out of stealth with a Stiletto, that's a different story...but for straight up PVP/PVE fights Rapier is just superior due to the safety.
@@BunnychanFarabee yeah i run stiletto or castillon when i’m grouped up, all it takes is two clean hits on their squishies usually
I would recommend u switch poison for backstab as poison only is max 4 dmg for basemagic dmg per hit and backstab would allow u to almost 1 shot people when u play it properly back of head shot with base knife when u use ambush like u are dose like 46dmg pluse 20 for rapture 66dmg for base gear in 1 hit makes it so u can kill ppl with ease if u hit 3 times from behind they will likely die lol
backstab is so much harder solo and really only works in an opening move vs 3 people. Poison is more consistency, works with throwing knives, and also more suited to his hit and run solo playstyle
@@bongschwee103 lol no thats what im saying its not u will kill the person in less hits with backstab the only thing that poison would be good for is if he stacked magic dmg or will or hes straight pveing because u do get 4dps x5 as a poison effect but its not worth to burst if ur running lock pick if no lock pick i would have poison because u get 4dmg per hit u dont want to be constantly hitting someone as rogue that is what will get u killed 2-3 hits is all u should need anyway and then u run if theres more then 1 the guy u jumped if u headshot him from behind will likely die to ur bleed after 2 hits
@@brennanorr2 fair enough to say to take over lockpick but ur still ignoring the fact that poison applies off throwing knives. Tbh i think that being able to loot every lions head no matter what without having to sit in the trading post buying lockpicks would probably net you more gold than the faster kill youd get from backstab every once in awhile
For the record poison weapon also scales with additional magic damage and true magic damage
that is why u just drop poison if ur gunna lock pick u keep ur dps for if u need it and u still get the loot if u want but u only really need so much loot lol but yes the dot scales from magic and u can also get duration bonus on top of that if u really wana use all the dots for a build just poke them and watch them squirm till they die lol
