Great point they didn't give Abrams a real chance there. He struggled and I feel like they gave up. It's not just Abrams though it's Wood, Gore, Hassell, and Susana as well. Obviously Hassell hasn't been good since the trade but still.
You can't do the hypothetical, 1. You don't know how he would have developed with the pads
2.padres still have pieces they got from Soto trade that are helping big time like Michael king and Randy Vasquez and higashioka as crazy as that sounds
3. CJ Abrams is solid but overrated as shit right now , defense is absolutely atrocious

As a Braves fan all we need is guys to start actually hitting like they can really and the Duvall thing, he is doing well at what they got him to do in the first place, which is hit lefties. If everyone else finally starts doing what they are capable of I say Harris in center, Kelenic in left and get someone that can hit right handers and put Duvall back in the platoon he came here to do
I feel like Luis Robert Jr. could have a Carlos Beltran to the Astros type injection in to the right team's line up. Guardians or Phillies would probably do that for him.

Cubs can trade Hoerner because they have good 2B option at/near the majors. They aren't trading Steele, they should be competing next year. The Cubs also have good depth in the OF, so Happ could be a nice chip for someone like the Mariners (if he's willing to waive his no trade). Anyone in the bullpen is available. They aren't dealing Morel because his value is probably depressed right now.
Who is Detroit selling? Their Pitching?

Trading Crochet to be a reliever is comical. The talk about him never pitching this many innings and coming off surgery is what delays player's careers even more. He's been one of the best pitchers all year, and to slow that momentum of his development is ridiculous. Yeah you give up assets to get him, but if he's part of that playoff push for a chip, then it's all hands on deck.

Padres need to trade Kim while he has little value and acquire some SP and RP. Xander can take over short.
Bogaerts will be coming back from a shoulder fracture. Putting him in a high pressure/activity situation like SS isn’t a great idea.
