    Ive been panning for over forty years and i do not see the benifit of this over a regular pan if you know what you're doing even with fine gold . everybody has a gimmick that works better than everything a panner has been using for the last five thousand years. Keep it simple has gotten me plenty of gold over the years .

      You may be right but the turbo pan eliminates the center problem area of Klondike pans, especially with thick clay sediment... in the middle of a Klondike pan the center of gravity stays pretty stable even when shaking hard... That's why you switch from agitation to dipping so much because in a full pan you cannot agitate the center very deep so you need to remove a little then agitate again...
      With the turbo pan you can swirl with great effect instead of just forward and back, side to side... The best technique is to get a pan done in under 2 minutes from classifying to the gold, without loosing gold...
      With the turbo pan when swirling one way you get gold stuck, the other way will quickly dump the lighter material while pushing the gold into the center pit. so instead of dipping off and agitation, you just swirl one-way, then swirl the other way... It makes everything much faster and that's a big deal if you can only use pans and shovel on a creek

      Well if ya listen to the video he says he’s a slower panner using the other pan. He’s meticulous i think he said. Someone with ocd or that is extra cautious perhaps would be better off with a different pan then what most use.
      Just as some people literally think different or have different personalities and tendencies makes sense that might influence how someone also pans for gold.

    *100% wrong motion!!! You have to get the material moving CLOCKWISE to keep the gold moving towards the center during 'Swirling'.*

    The washing machine agitation before the counter-clockwise motion looks like it gives the smaller gold particles the extra time they need to sink below the wash-out point after starting the counterclockwise motion that keeps dropping the gold and clears the lighter material .
    If your gold is 1/4 or 1/8 minus... I'm wondering if pre-classifing will be faster and speed up the process or be slower.

    • @paranorml1
      @paranorml1  Рік тому +1

      I classify to 1/2 inch. I have tried pre-classifying with smaller mesh, but most of the time it is just extra work or time. There are some gravel/clay types that work better if you use fine classification first.

    • @WardCampbell
      @WardCampbell Рік тому

      @@paranorml1 for me 1/4 worked better than 1/8 for slucing (because it was faster)... so now I will try my new 1/2" xp classifier next time out and try to best fit the classifier to the pan or boxes I'm using. I bought a hex pan after watching your video from "the prospect channel... haven't used it yet.

    I also use a turbopan and hex pan. I alternate between using turbo pan or a pyramid pro pan for production, and I have recently become a fan of the hex pan for finishing due to how easy it is to fully clear out the black sand. If you use the opposite corner from the big riffles, you can gently wash out the black sand until the only thing left is gold.

    I've owned a gold claw for years and Have often PAN my material concentrates into a tub. Or another pan to Make sure I catch everything and to check my technique.
    If I am losing any gold while panning I have actually never lost any gold after doing the first PAN I do with gold claw catches everything. I have never lost anything so far out of a gold claw.

  • @jamesbailey6124
    @jamesbailey6124 8 місяців тому +1

    I'm very proficient with the gold claw and believe me. Nothing gets out of it and you can do Uber a quarter of a 5 gallon bucket with the gold claw. You're just not using it right. Just like most other people that I find that have problems with gold claw. They're not using it right? The gold cloth gold pen is faster and better than my sluice box. I have given up all other Pans even the Turbo Pan that I used to use for the gold claw gold Pan. As well as giving up all of my slow sluice boxs.

      Cool, but I have observed people using the Gold Claw just like they show on the Gold Claw YT channel. If the people at gold claw are doing it wrong.... then what is the "right way"? Please link a video that shows the "right way" for my viewers to compare........ 😉

  • @DetectIQsmarter
    @DetectIQsmarter 3 роки тому +6

    First you need to go counter-clockwise, so that when you stratify your material... it will be within the circle, then you can go counter-clockwise to spin off all the junk off the top,... then you repeat the whole process again until you're left with nothing but your concentrates, and no you don't need a second pan, if you do it right you can get it all done correctly the first time and you're done!.... by the way nice video thanks for cheering 😀👍

    I live in Maine I have a gold claw gold pan. It catches very fine gold below 200 mesh it holds onto the fines and it has an incredible amount of control over the dirt that is in the pan it has a three-step process that actually takes care of all the dirt and separates all your gold from the dirt faster than the turbo pan I also own a turbo pan the gold Clause the most effective plant pan I have ever used just saying prospecting for 15 years

    • @paranorml1

      Glad you like the Claw. My issue with it, is it seems to loose a lot of fine gold when used quickly (even though it does catch "some" fine gold). However it might come down to the individual user and how they use each of these products...... I have been prospecting Colorado gold for over 20 years. GET THAT GOLD!...... whichever way works best for you. :)
