    I was just doing this today I am down to 50 mesh and am going down to 200 but I ran off everything above 1/8 Now I have a 5 gallon bucket almost to the top that needs fine cleaning and I run everything thru my Blue Bowl with a Fossickers Maverick Finishing Pan below it ! I am finding very little past the Bowl but never thought to dry it back out and screen it that fine!!!!

    • @prospectingforadventure
      @prospectingforadventure  2 роки тому +4

      Yup. With an entire bucket I like to run it and concentrate it down to a cup or two of cons. I don't have the patience to do a whole bucket.

    Thank you for showing us this new classifying system. Good work on the video. I like how you light everything out and showed us your work. Yeah that little gold will definitely add up over time

    I've almost never had my concentrates fully dried when I needed them screened, has been a long term dilemma for most of us. A wet powerscreen is your bet option to basically pressure wash the fines through screens, but they are bulky and expensive. Shakers, tables, etc all have limitations. One tip to help you guys out though is IF you do need your material dry, like for this video, then use a bakery oven bread rack and trays with a heat lamp or infrared heater to dry out all your cons in sheet pans.

    • @prospectingforadventure

      I dry my cons outside in a frying pan. Takes 5 minutes to do. 👍

      At first I thought you had a good idea concerning the oven, but what about the possibility of mercury in your concentrates? It can vaporize at 68 degrees.

    • @prospectingforadventure
      @prospectingforadventure  Рік тому +1

      Don't use an oven you cook with. That's extremely risky with mercury, lead and other potential issues. I use a small burner outside in a well ventilated area. If it's a place with mercury use lower heat like sunshine or low power heat lamp. Also in well ventilated areas. Never heat your cons in the house.

      I generally remove the magnetic sand before my final cleanup. That would work though.

      Could take a mesh into the store and hold it to the tops of prospects. Or if you have a 3d printer you could resize an existing design and print them right out.

    I don't do gold prospecting, but this looks like it will be perfect for separating different sizes of glass frit for glass fusing.

    This would be a very handy set to have. I work a lot with the fine gold in the 50 mesh and smaller. I wish they would sell the unit and let you add the screens you need. I just need the 200 and 400 screens.

    • @prospectingforadventure
      @prospectingforadventure  2 роки тому

      That would be nice to pick the screens. The whole set is pretty affordable, in my opinion. Considering what other individual classifyers cost.

      Yippers, it wouldn’t be too bad if this was your only screens. I have already bought a set of 5 gallon bucket and the 6” screens. But I just need a 200 and 400. 😢 oh, well such is life. 😁

    • @prospectingforadventure
      @prospectingforadventure  2 роки тому

      Looks like Mike does sell them individually.
      You can buy the cup, ring and whatever screen you want.

      @@prospectingforadventure Ahhh, many thanks. The old eyes had a hard time with the small print. The 200 and 400 screen material runs about $30.00 on Ebay and then I have to make the frame which isn’t a problem but I like his setup much better. Thanks again.

      Jet dry. It breaks the surface tension of water. Fine gold will gloat on the surface tension.

      @@prospectingforadventure What would this water tension breaker be? The translation didn't make sense to me. Here in Brazil we usually use powdered soap (the kind used for washing clothes) or dishwashing soap.

      @deividchiabai8729 dawn dish soap works. We like to use Jet dry dishwasher additive.

    Or you use a spoon and get your gold out a spoon full at a time

    • @prospectingforadventure
      @prospectingforadventure  2 роки тому +2

      I never had the patience for the spoon method. I normally have too much concentrates for that. Even if I used the method I would pre classify. Like in my video, the 200 mesh size material. I should have panned portions like a spoon full at a time. It was too much for one round.
