- Before using a new gold pan, it is crucial that you season it first. This removes the releasing agent used on plastic injection molding. If you fail to do this, you will likely lose your fine gold while gold panning.
I did not see this video first! Darn well gonna have to do a redo. I looked into the tub that I did my first pan and yep I spilled out all kinds of color . Live and learn thanx gpaa member since July 17 2023
I told friends about seasoning when they first started to learn and they couldnt figure out why they never got any color..
This vide will help them, considering the huge storms we've had, they are itching to get out..
Awesome, please share with your friends! Don't want anyone losing any color over something so simple! Good luck out there :)
Good job explaining brother
The worst it looks the better it works. That's me on Monday mornings.
Great job fam. Keep on having fun and living the dream. Gold Squad Out!!!
Thank you! Will do!
just got my very first pans today. I was about to go jump in the river but something told me to watch a couple videos first. Thanks man. I will sub for that.
Good luck out there! Thanks for the sub
Very good advice, Kevin!! Loved watching your Gold Trails show!!!🤟🏼
After cleaning out the releasing agent, I lightly use 400 grit sandpaper, works great.
For sure! Awesome info. Thank you for sharing. Keep em coming YEEHAW!!! 💥😎🤠
Thank you Kevin!
Nice tip. Wish I knew this before I used the 4 or 5 pans I already own just like it! Lol. Blessings.
I like using a brand new slick pan to separate my gold from the black sand at home. it taps apart better for me in those new pans!
I always wash them with dawn and then once at the creek use sand to scrub them with. Seemed to work pretty well. I’ve also done what you just did with the water hose, dawn and dirt at the house. I tested it with dirt and BB’s.
You doing hard way little soap and 400 grit wet dry sand paper . After 40 years mining you learn tricks happy panning.
Thanks for the tip
@@GoldProspectors I always pass on info if it will help someone and you're welcome.
👍Brian, Could not agree more! I try to always opt for sharing things and ideas that everyone or almost everyone has readily available most of the time in their yard.
Does this aplly to sluice box mats as well ? The washing before use ? Ty
Do you have to do that with a steel pan?
