  • Before using a new gold pan, it is crucial that you season it first. This removes the releasing agent used on plastic injection molding. If you fail to do this, you will likely lose your fine gold while gold panning.

I told friends about seasoning when they first started to learn and they couldnt figure out why they never got any color..
This vide will help them, considering the huge storms we've had, they are itching to get out..

After cleaning out the releasing agent, I lightly use 400 grit sandpaper, works great.

I like using a brand new slick pan to separate my gold from the black sand at home. it taps apart better for me in those new pans!

I always wash them with dawn and then once at the creek use sand to scrub them with. Seemed to work pretty well. I’ve also done what you just did with the water hose, dawn and dirt at the house. I tested it with dirt and BB’s.

👍Brian, Could not agree more! I try to always opt for sharing things and ideas that everyone or almost everyone has readily available most of the time in their yard.
