    Look for these ingredients in your skin care products to treat hyper pigmentation. There are some additional ingredients that help treat hyper pigmentation that have been used in clinical studies using darker skin types.
    Dark skin can be quite tricky to to treat since darker skin types can create melanin faster and easier than fair skin types.
    Some of the hyper pigmentation treatments can cause inflammation which can then lead to more hyper pigmentation or even hypo pigmentation.
    Three challenges of treating hyper pigmentation for black skin are discussed and some PRO TIPS are discussed.
    In this video, we focus more on Fitzpatrick Skin Types 4-6 and how to include hyper pigmentation treatments including some naturally derived ingredients.

      Hi christy, I have a question for you. I was prescribed 4% hydroquinone + 0.05% tretinoin for my ance scars and melasma on my upper lip. I am happy with the results and want to stop using it completely. However, I’ve heard once you stop using hydroquinone , especially for darker skin tones, you get darker than before. What do i do; if i use tyrosinase inhibitors, will it maintain my results and stop my face getting darker?? My face is already 2 shades darker than my body, and if the effects of stopping are true, I will look ridiculous. I cannot see the dermatologist due to the current situation. Please advise. Thank you and love your channel btw, it’s very informative.

    What is your opinion on natural ingredients that contain SPF, such as natural butters like Shea Butter (SPF 4-6), and carrier oils such as Red Raspberry Seed Oil (SPF 25-50)? And is there any benefit to layering these natural ingredients?

    • @GoSeeChristy
      @GoSeeChristy  5 років тому +3

      Hi Alisa, thank you so much for watching. SPF 4-6 is way too low. The Skin Cancer Association recommends at least an SPF of 30. Natural ingredients have not been evaluated for its ability to block uv rays on human skin so I would not depend on that. I would stick to a mineral based sunscreen that is tinted if you have darker skin. SPF does not double. For example, if you use a SPF of 30 and use an SPF for 50, it is NOT SPF 80 , the spf becomes 45.

      HI Gorgette, thank you for watching and my supporting my channel! Dimethhicone is just a silicone that is known in the skin industry world as "micro plastics" . This is used to make the product feel smooth and silky on the skin. Benzyl Alcohol is used as a solvent. The last ingredient increases moisturizing ability in a product. Hope this helps!

Clinical studies show that it has an inhibitory effect on mice and pig cells. It has some brightening effects but does not seem to be as effective more pigmentation on humans. Some people do take it as a supplement and have said that it has some brightening effects.

    What are your thoughts on Mandalic acid face wash and vitamin A serum to help with adult acne (I’m 30) and the spots it leaves behind. These are Vivant Skincare products. Thanks a bunch

    • @GoSeeChristy
      @GoSeeChristy  4 роки тому

      Hey there, thank you for watching! This depends on how sensitive your skin is. If the vitamin A serum is being purchaed without a prescription, I am assuming that this is Retinol and not Retin A. This also depends on what type of break out you have. If your have red bumps, red bumps with pus and /or flesh colored bumps. Red bumps need benzoyl peroxide and/or salicylic acid. Flesh colored bumps need glycolic acid and blackheads work best with a bha.

    What is take on Pixi glow tonic which has 5 percent glycolic acid

    • @GoSeeChristy
      @GoSeeChristy  5 років тому +4

      Hi Paayel Agarwaal, I looked at the ingreients list in this product since I am not familiar with this product.
      First, here are the cons: I typically don't like cotton based toners since they tend to more drying than spray toners.
      The second ingredient is glycolic acid then right after, they have sodium hydroxide. This is an alkaline pH to neutralize some of the acidity of the glycolic acid. T
      his could be a strong irritant to some since this is a leave on product. Especially if the person is going to layer another anti aging or lightening serum on top of that.
      Remember , if you have inflammation, then over time, the skin can develop dermatitis or hyperpigmentation. On the website, it says to use BOTH at night AND daytime.
      ALL AHA based products can make your skin more photosensitive . So if someone has hyperpigmentation, this is going to increase hyperpigmentation. If you need an exfoliating product, use one that rinses off the skin so that when you use another acidic product, you lower your chances of sensitizing your skin. The glycolic acid does not actually "brighten" your skin.
      What it does is increase the skin cell turnover rate so that the dark patches you have will slough off and reveal the new skin underneath, which will be more even toned, softer and glowing.
      Look for toners that will increase hydration, decrease inflammation, or increase the efficacy of other products (depending on your skin type).
      Here is an example of a good exfoliating product: ua-cam.com/video/BKMJQmiVaCk/v-deo.html
      I also did not prefer that fragrance was a little higher on the list (fragrance induced hyperpigmentation is common among darker skin types) and they use Red 4 (typically petroleum derived)....I never understood why skin care products use artificial dye. Not a big fan. Sorry....

      This depends on if you shave or wax and also wear deodorant. Sometimes the constant irritation can cause post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. If you are using deodorant or antiperspirant , it is good to stop using this a few days before you wax or shave AND after and instead use unscented zinc oxide cream to help soothe the skin AND absorb the moisture.

    Hi i am off from triluma, and been using meladerm, if i can introduce any exfoliation like tretenoin or AHA or BHA. I have melasma since few years.

    • @GoSeeChristy

      Depending on your skin type, you can use one or the other.

      Thank you for the reply. I have dry skin. Can i use tretenoin and meladerm together at night. I do not want to use hydroquinone because of rebound melasma. Every time i got off from triluma gets darker melasma.

    • @GoSeeChristy
      @GoSeeChristy  4 роки тому

      Use the tretinoin cream first and then the meladerm.

      Thank you for watching! Do you mean the sheer form of zinc oxide? Zinc oxide is a mineral not a chemical.

    • @Prinx0506
      @Prinx0506 4 роки тому

      Go See Christy im not not know the knowledge of the ‘sheer form of zinc oxide’. but i mean to ask if i can use supergoop sunscreen or UV DOUX silicone sunscreen gel (manufacturerd by Brinton UK) or TRU DERMA or LA shield sunscreen

    • @GoSeeChristy
      @GoSeeChristy  4 роки тому

      if the sunscreens have regular zinc oxide then you will have a white cast. Although some people may break out from chemical based sunscreens, some people prefer them because they absorb better but some people break out from the chemical sunscreen ingredients.

    Could you recommend affordable products that are readily available is drugstores?

    • @GoSeeChristy
      @GoSeeChristy  5 років тому +3

      HI Bruin mom, thank you so much for watching! If you are referring to a cream that will treat hyperpigmentation, I am afraid most over the counter products from the drug store do little for hyperpigmentation . This is based on the products my clients have brought in when they came for their consulation. I know this is NOT what you want to hear but you depending on your skin, look for the Vitamin C (l-ascorbic acid) . This may be a bit more affordable than the others. You can also try Paua's Choice Niacinimide if your skin is sensitivie for pigmentation to start breaking apart: amzn.to/31wTMw4
      Paua's choice Vitamin C Booster amzn.to/2LB9TDe These are not drug store brands but what you pay for, this is a good deal. : )

      Hi Cory, if you would like to try L-AScorbic Acid serums, some of them tend to be expensive if you don't want the diluted ones. Here is a review on the best selilng l-ascorbic Acid serum to help you decide if you want to try it: ua-cam.com/video/isY-GN5hdIM/v-deo.html

      Hi Paayel, thank you for watching. Without seeing your face, it is usually because your face is receiving more sun exposure than the other parts of your body.

    • @GoSeeChristy

      Melasma is a type of hyperpigmentation. Hyperpigmentation is a wide classification of skin condition. Melasma is a more specific type of hyper pigmentation.

      I would have to see your face. If it is an even skin tone, it is probably because your face sees the sun the most. This is normal for most people.
