For those of you wondering. This is live. But it stitches together 2 live audio. Up until 3:24, the audio is from the Budokan recording ("Best Version") from the 1970's. Then, at 3:24, it switches to the audio from this video. So, it's live, but mostly from the 1970's Budokan performance.
Yes, I LOVE this song. BUT...there's something weird about this video of them "playing it live" at the RocknR HoF. The visual actions (like guitar licks) are NOT in sync with the audio. It's like there's an overlay of the Budokan recording playing and these guys are playing along with it. I've watched it a dozen times and these guys playing are NOT perfectly in sync with all the sound. Plus the guitarist raising his hands while notes are sustained? Something is not right.
Definitely noticed the guitar player raising his hands multiple times as if his guitar wasn’t making sound and yet the licks were still being played. Somethings wacky
No, the person who runs this channel dubbed their Live at Budokan version over the video of their rock n roll hall of fame performance.. I don't know why... They still sound awesome, but Budokan was a cleaned up live album.

These guys are from my home town; Rockford I’ll. I haven’t seen them in years but I know all but Robin. Rick’s wife is a high school classmate of mine. At Rick’s invite I saw the first time they played out in a small club here in town. Great memories!!😊👍
This can't possibly be Cheap Trick singing live. Definitely NOT a sentence I ever thought I'd say/write. They're still a mega talented bunch and absolutely fabulous and deserve their award. Long time coming though!
Saw them in Estero Florida last night Totally crap Rick Neilson was in the wrong key most of the night singer was screaming ,sound man was not to bright either he had Neilsons guitar the loudest should have tuned him out completely they had 3 guitarists .REO speed wagon saved the night they were amazing
Bun E. Is so underrated, he's perfectly on beat, not in front of, definitely not behind. I remember him doing all those cool solos and drum intros on the live records. Legendary master.
Caught out at the end of the song, I'm afraid, great band, great song. Not so great performance, I am not impressed. this is my opinion, apologies if it offends.

The audio is from Budokan from the 1970's for the first 3:30. The crowd chants are a dead give away, plus the guitar riffs. Then, at 3:24, it switches over to the audio from the video.
I never heard of this group until I accidentally found them while searching for a song I dreamed about. I had never heard the song before. Certainly not 'this' version. The dream - man had a soft mellow voice and sang it slow, making it a 'hot' romantic song. smh But I must have heard it somewhere, on some one's radio and I didn't pay attention, then my brain processed it to something that I 'would' listen to. LOL That was about two years ago. I found this group and recognized the words!!! But it was not the song in my dream. I'm still searching for that dream singer. If the song existed, then that singer must exist also.
The person who runs this channel dubbed their Live at Budokan version over the video of their rock n roll hall of fame performance.. I don't know why... They still sound awesome, but Budokan was a cleaned up live album. They were not lip synching!
Um, this isn't live. Too many times, the vocals and position on the guitar were distanced from the notes coming out. The most obvious is when the lead is going (2:57) and rather than being up on the neck where the notes originate, he was still playing down the neck. The plosives from the vocal where he had his mouth against the microphone were absent as well. Good song, just not truly live.
