    So glad you showed us the Bin 28 Kalimna. It holds a special place in my palate, as it's the 1st Penfolds wine I tasted way back in 1994 and set me on the path of relishing good Syrah/ Shiraz. Prices have skyrocketed since my first bottle, as a lowly undergrad, I could just about afford the £7.99 (about $10.00) on a regular basis without cutting into my student budget too much. Now it is only a purchase when on offer as there are plenty of competition that offer more bang for your buck.

      Thanks very much for sharing! Always enjoy hearing experiences like this one. Sadly this producer's wines have skyrocketed at all levels. Still some good sales, though, as you mention. Cheers!

    One of my favorite ~50 buck wines from last year wete Tement Sauvignon Blanc Zieregg Grosse Lage STK 2018 and 2019.
    One of the most existing Sauvingon Blancs I had in my life and it put Austria on the map for great SB for me.

    I’m not sure how to begin complimenting you on this video. It’s exceptionally impressive, and the list is absolutely incredible. Each wine in this formidable list is obviously a result of careful consideration and expert deliberation. I always take a long time watching your videos because I usually watch them twice and/or take down notes - and this case is no exception, even though some of these wines are already in my wish list/shopping list, the López de Heredia Viña Tondonia and Château Malartic-Lagravière among them. I do have a Produttori del Barbaresco - thank you for your previous recommendation and your IG post on that. I’m not sure if I can track down the Riesling that you mentioned and raved about in this video but with such passionate words of endorsement, I think it would be worth the effort. Thank you for creating this very reliable list and doing all the hard work for us. It’s overwhelmingly outstanding. And you’re truly the best. Santé, John!

    I bought the Donnhoff Spatlese on the basis of its review in this video. It is truly a stunning example of Riesling from the Nahe (although I wouldn't want to continue paying $50+ for Nahe bottlings--my prejudice, having cut my Riesling "teeth" on wines from the Moselle). I have great hopes for my bottles of Donnhoff Kabinet. Thanks for your recommendation of wines from this producer.

    Hey JJ! A triple threat in the Big Apple...Attorney, Sommelier and now Fashion Icon. It is unfortunate that one of my heroes the late Bill Cunningham wasn't around to snap you crossing the street while negotiating traffic on his bike. I will definitely seek out the Larmandier-Bernier Extra Brut Blanc de Blancs Latitude. In my opinion, and I have it on a higher authority, "The last shall be first!" because last year Santa sprang for a case of Kumea River Mates and Rays Road Chardies for the cellar and so far I have managed to keep my little chockie stained fingers off them. Cheers!

    Coincidentally, I am drinking a 2012 Produttori del Barbaresco this evening. Very good and will probably be even better tomorrow. I have two bottles of the 2010, which I will keep for a few more years, and some of the fruit-forward 2018.
    I have organised a home wine evening with friends for 25th February and I've just finalised the wines. There will be three pairs of wines tasted blind followed by a port. First one for nearly four years thanks to Covid.

    Thank you for your recommendations, I have the Kumeu River but have not tasted yet. I love Gruner Veltliner. They grow some close to where we live in Willoughby, Ohio, but may be taking out the vines due to lack of interest in the variety. Ferrante makes great Gruener, it will be a loss if they remove the vines. Will start to search for some of these wines. Especially the 2010 Vina Tondonio, Produttori, and Domaine du Pegau. Although, I love burgandy so I will try that also. Interested is some of the less expensive Nibbiolo's also.

    Thank you for great content as always! The 2010 Tondonia is one of the best qpr wines I’ve had. I had one in November and immediately decided to stock up big time since it drinks great now and probably will gain even more complexity over the years to come. I’m surprised that it gets such modest reviews on ct (which for me is a great source to find good qpr-wines). Since you’ve had multiple, have you had any bottle variation? My bottle needed 2+ hrs of air, before that it was very closed, so maybe that’s a reason for many of the less enthusiastic reviews.

    • @AttorneySomm
      @AttorneySomm  Рік тому +1

      The bottles I have had have been very consistent, although one comment to this video was from a viewer who seemed to experience some variation. It definitely benefits from air and is still quite young despite the long maturation at the winery. I've been loading up as well, but its hard to keep them in stock since it is such an amazing value. I would buy with confidence!
