    The game correcting your oversteer is because of the mechanical setting in the advanced settings menu for the wheel. The higher you have that setting, the more over steer your car will have.

    I've been enjoying this game with a wheel though it certainly takes more getting used to than a controller, which the game is clearly designed for as it's just immediately intuitive. The game is absolutely not a sim but sometimes it's nice to be able to slide around like a lunatic, feeling like the next Ken Block because the game is of a more forgiving and arcade nature. This is honestly the game I think Project Cars 3 should have made itself into once they decided to move away from competing in the proper sim market. Go all in on the fun and the game can still be a blast even for the most hardened sim racer.

    Honestly I find the "Forza is meant for a controller only" guys to mainly be saying that out of superstition at this point. My personal policy is pretty simple: if a game has a halfway usable cockpit/dash/bonnet cam and wheel support, there's simply no way I'm plugging in a controller. FH4 definitely required some work to find a good feel on a wheel, but so far I've found FH5 to be greatly improved in that department and I feel like if you have a wheel handy you're a fool not to use it, because you'll have an absolute blast.

I don't get it why they've implemented clutch and h-shift when they never had the intention do to it right? You can't stall the engine, you don't have a clutch bite, you can switch gears without using the clutch and don't even have a grinding... totally useless. But hey the majority of todays sports cars are automatic with manual option and paddles behind the wheel so i don't care, and the manual/sequential mode in the game is at least realistic. The computer do rev-match when shifting down which totally sound cool, and you can really fast switch the gears like it should be on a modern Ferrari for instance.

    It is fun, but I'm slower with a wheel. I tweaked the difficulty so races with ai feel right, but racing online I got blown away. It was probably lack of skill, and newb effect to some extent. The car was uncontrolable until I reduced the wheel radius to 540. The starter car was fine at 720 radius. I read you need to change turning radius depending on the car. Also I read people's force feedback goes away, and you have to reinstall wheel drivers. That happened to me twice when I adjusted ffb settings. The fun of the wheel makes up for the negatives, but I do wish there were no negatives. Also I bought 2 copies of premium for me and my son, but couldn't connect with him. That is a known bug also. I appreciate youtubers who tell you both sides of the story. I drop the all positive salesmen.

      Nah, don’t take it personally, wheels are just slower in almost every case in FH games.
      It is a very simcade title, and you can basically cheat and defy some laws of physics, timing, and speed by using a controller within their physics engine. It is made to handle the bold inputs of a controller, and to forgive quick corrections and over corrections.
      So, unless you get really good, wheels aren’t great online, but single player? It can be a wonderful experience once you find your sweet spot for difficulty.
      I found in FH4, I needed a different difficulty for on and off road events with the wheel, and the near constant need to switch difficulty eventually made it pretty unplayable… but, you know? They play great on controller. Sometimes it is nice to race from the couch instead of on top of the screen with perfect FOV. I mean, that 3rd person view is FH!

      The reason you're slower with a wheel is the controller assist is so strong it's practically cheating, with full steering lock on the controller the game just automatically steers your wheels to the perfect angle for any given speed or surface, maning you are actually still competitive even just playing with a keyboard.

    I've been playing FH5 on a Thrustmaster T248 and having a blast. Not done much online stuff so not tested out whether I can come close to winning a race against people on controllers or not. I read there are unfair advantages towards those using controllers in terms of settings and overall controller bias. But that's not I got the game for anyway. I just love cruising around and doing the odd story mode races. The AI is a bit clunky but can still offer a challenge here and there. I really enjoyed beating the Collosus run in my Hoonigan.

  • @tomom1271
    @tomom1271 2 роки тому

    i find turning the center spring setting all the way down/off gives a much better ffb feel. in a real car if you turn the wheel when stationary it will not automatically straighten your wheels when you let go. the center spring setting causes this to happen which isn’t realistic. but when you start to drive your car in real life wheel will straighten back up as the wheels start rolling. turning the center spring all the way down causes the steering to act like a real cars steering. this might help with the feel of the game auto correcting. and also takes unnecessary resistance out of your steering.

    Hey, came here to find out whether or not wheel support in 5 is just as bad as it was in Forza 4 (at least for those who were noobs at customization, such as myself), unless you were good and patient at/with playing with wheel settings to try to find your way out of the mess that it was in forza 4, and looks like some folks do seem to say that it is better, but i saw some that said its just as bad. Im just a casual person who got forza 4 years ago with logitech g27 or 29 wheel back in the day, and all i wanted was to plug it in and enjoy the smooth ride, but just like some mentioned wheel support was unbearable, and being that i had no clue what any of those wheel settings meant and how to set them up properly for it to feel good so that my car wouldnt go crazy, I had to use controller while playing it yet the goal was to drive around different cars and enjoy that wheel support for it, which i sadly couldn't do as controlling any car was just terrible and unenjoyable :( I'll repeat im totally lost when it comes to wheel's settings and what to do there even if i see others do it, no clue how any of them work, just a casual person who wanted a user friendly and easy to set up support, pretty much plug and play. That brings me to the following questioon: can someone who maybe had just as poor experience with prev Forza 4 as I did, but who had already gave Forza 5 a chance, to say whether or not it is indeed better for wheel support for newbies like myself right out of the box or you do really need to spend time customizing your wheel. I'd really appreciate if someone who was in the same shoes could give their two cents, cause i wanna buy the game, but i dont think I should if I cant drive around the world using the wheel causally without constantly getting upset at how the car corresponds to wheel movements etc.....
