The 49ers main focus should've been there offensive line, if they don't what to be in a situation where all your quarterbacks in 2022. They need to create more competition on the offensive line, to keep Brock Purdy healthy because we got nobody behind that can win games if Brock goes down.
I still think Justin Simmons would be an amazing addition to SF’s roster especially if they can get him on a inexpensive 2 or 3 year contract.
As for our biggest threat in the NFC… I would have to say Detroit. The Lions are a really good team that nearly beat SF in the playoffs.
I think Brock Purdy is going to keep getting better. I could see Brock throwing for 4,000 yards and 40 plus touchdowns.
Justin Simmons is a star and would help. But if he wants to play in SF, it has to be to ring chase. Not a long term deal, not a lot of money, not what he is worth. He has to see value to his next contract and legacy in getting that ring. Otherwise, it's not a fit.
I'm thinking ahead for next year Our Niners are so stacked. Lynch and Shanahan should think about getting another Quarterback in next year's draft Backup for Purdy And Purdy is a great Quarterback
I would agree that the move would be to save that cap space, but if they are going to add a piece, I would say a player that can play corner and safety to fill in holes while Hufanga gets healthy
The 49ers need a good offensive tackle, and a good defensive tackle to stop up the middle. And a quality Center and I have a suggestion about Center. When I played football in Europe 1976 and 77 our team found itself in a bit of a predicament because our previous center was reassigned and we had a void there. Entered a guy who was a tight end and a damn good one. I saw his speed and he had what I refur to as foam rubber hands. He could catch and one of the quarterbacks threw the ball hard enough to split open the fingers of a receiver but Al pulled the passes out of the air with ease. He came to me and asked how he could make all USAFE in his first year and I told him that he was the best tight end on our team but that he'd get limited play because there were three others who were on the team the year before. I suggested that he moved to Center because he had the best hands on the team and could be depended upon to get the football from the ground and to the quarterbacks hands without a fumble. Also what a difference it made when Al decided to take my advice. I was playing defensive tackle. And I kicked Ass
Don't worry Prudy will be using his legs more, because of the offensive line will make sure that will happen

Elite pass rushing allows us to not need elite cb that's why we still do quite well in that area don't you realize this? We had studs last season are you lost ?
If we wanted to try Green at FS he is big enough. Merton hanks was only 180 lbs, 6'2'. But you have to have a hammer at SS. We have the LBs to help. The kids we have can tow the line with the depth of our DB room. If we spend...do it on Aiyuk and OL if someone is out there. We have to do it this year. We are consistently top 3 for past 4-5 years but haven't won sh!t. Close the deal.

What I don't understand is the 49'ers need more OL support to help Purdy out.
Niners need to go get Justin Simmons and that piece would take this secondary to a different level. Gilmore ok but a centerfielder like Simmons that can snag it out of the air on the regular.
Upgrade at Center or Rich Tackle all day. Move Mcivitts to guard.
There's no where else to upgrade or even get depth where it makes much sense to me.
Personally I'd upgrade at center and hope the rookie at guard pans out.
The lack of the offensive linemen are going to cost the 49ers getting into the playoffs you watch.

The more we shut down passing gms, the easier it is for the d line. I say go for it.
We need to work on offense line but that ain't happening so save the money sign BA around 28 or move on and let's go Niners .

If the 49ers had a better offense line that kicked wouldn't have been blocked. They will have a lot more blocked this season.
