Kurt Warner is really a poor comparison to make for Brock Purdy. Yes, both were dropped onto great teams. But Warner's numbers were MUCH better. And Warner actually WON games with his arm on the regular, throwing over 200 MORE passes than Purdy in their first two seasons respectively. The 49ers success is BY FAR more predicated on how well McCaffrey, Deebo and their run first, run often offense plays, than Purdy. Warner's first two seasons were head and shoulders better than Purdy's. Oh and he actually also won a Lombardi for good measure.

You got 4qbs that aren’t what ppl make them out to be but in reality they are - 1) Fruad purdy is a game manager. 2) Mathew stafford is an aging QB and won’t be here for long. 3) Geno was never that guy or will be. 4) Kyler Murray was dealt with a bad hand, he had a collage HC who can’t adjust and a GM who was in a position he should have never gotten. But now let’s see what the new HC can do for him because the GM is making all the right moves.

1) Game managers usually just check-down passes all day. Purdy was bottom 10 in passes w/in 5 yards, but top 5 in basically every passing category. You can argue that he has a ton of support from teammates, but game manager isn't really fair. 2) Stafford is aging, but he clearly has some gas left in the tank. He's still one of the best QBs in the league. We'll see where he is in 3 years, but that's still 3 years away. Rams have some great receivers and Stafford still has a few good years left. 3) Geno - I tend to agree with you here. I'd like to see how he does this season, but so far Geno actually seems pretty average. 4) Murray definitely fell into less than ideal circumstances, but he's hardly elevated the team either. He shows flashes of greatness one play, then does something stupid the next. We'll see how the HC change does this year - maybe he'll do better..

In my opinion after Mahomes and maybe Josh Allen, I would take Stafford over any of these quarterbacks in the league. His toughness is unmatched and his arm ability is tremendous. He is one of those quarterbacks that could have played in the 80s when quarterbacks were taking tremendous hits and playing through them . Nowadays, you can’t touch these quarterbacks. Back then the entire body was open to hitting quarterbacks. In Stafford is a true pocket passer, which is the definition of a passer not like a lot of these quarterbacks nowadays that earn their bread and butter by running. Example Lamar Jackson, you can keep him. I will take Stafford any day of the week over him. We brag every year about how Lamar Jackson is and he can’t even win playoff game! I dont think Seattle's oline suffered because of lack of talent. It was the same group as 2022 pretty much. Just were not as fortunate with injuries. Lucas, Haynes, and Cross missed several games last year and they didnt have depth to suffer those losses. Fant was brought back this year and I think gives us nice depth at offensive tackle

Purdy isn't just throwing 5 yard checkdowns all game, he's making good throws to the middle and the side lines, especially in the 15-25 yard range. I don't know yet - I'd like to see him do similar numbers to last year. But he's certainly not some bum either.

I dont think Seattle's oline suffered because of lack of talent. It was the same group as 2022 pretty much. Just were not as fortunate with injuries. Lucas, Haynes, and Cross missed several games last year and they didnt have depth to suffer those losses. Fant was brought back this year and I think gives us nice depth at offensive tackle

Trey Lance was supposed to be the guy, but he wasn't either. I'm not saying Purdy is the end-all be-all either, but it's not as easy as just plug and play the way so many seem to think.
Purdy isn't just throwing 5 yard checkdowns all game, he's making good throws to the middle and the side lines, especially in the 15-25 yard range. I don't think he's got the big arms strength that some do, but he's clearly the best 9ers QB in at least a decade. He's also making good reads. Is he top 10? I don't know yet - I'd like to see him do similar numbers to last year. But he's certainly not some bum either.
You don't like stats when talking about Stafford but when you're talking about Purdy you do. You judge Murry by what he might do this year and Geno based on what happened last year. Phil you are a walking contradiction. That is some of the most simple minded analysis I have ever heard and I have been watching for 58 years. Stafford has been a great QB but he is aging, Purdy OK but he is not Steve young, he is lucky to be in the system he is in with that talent around him and Murry is at the top end of the 3rd tier of NFL QB's. I would love to see you come back to this video at the end of the season.

I will never put Kyler above geno… what has Kyler accomplished? Does Kyler even “look” like a “QB” when he’s on the field… hell, off the field? Geno has proven the last two seasons with the Seahawks, that he can play the position like it’s meant to be played, while taking shots. Geno can QB a lot better than Kyler can. When it comes down to it, Kyler just hasn’t grown up yet.
