Awesome challenge Curtis. I was thinking I need to do the same thing, then I remembered that I work full time and it's already dark when I get off work. Definitely something to consider for the summer time.
That’s the worst, I know the feeling. I found it difficult to get out around work hours last winter. Hopefully you can give this a try in the summer then, it was a nice challenge to get out and appreciate all the little things, along with some awesome encounters of course!
great work, I make sure to go on a hike even if its a 15 min walk in the park behind my house, I get at least one nice photo each time, be it a bee pollinating or a hawk flying over.
Great video and challenge as well. The barred owl is one of my favourite subject, but I can't deny even the buzzard is fantastic. Have a nice day Curtis, see you.
Loved watching this and the challenge idea, amazing shots. The owls get me every time and we now have proof you can make a common seagull in a ordinary pond look amazing.
Thank you so much, Gwen! Your support means so much to me, and I'm glad that you enjoyed the video. Owls hold a special place in my heart, like many other nature enthusiasts; there’s something about encountering them that’s simply unmatched. However, photographing the seagull was a delightful surprise. It's a great reminder of the beauty and joy that can be found in appreciating even the most common species.
@@CurtisSnapshot So true! For life, not just photography... there is something magical about seeing the joy in the everyday things. Thanks for sharing your adventures, they are so fun to watch.
I found the teleconverter was difficult to use in the woods too. I really like my 70-200 for walking around dense wooded areas. Oh and that sound at the beginning of your video was a squirrel. Great video and great captures
I have looked at the 70-200 a few times, really nice looking lens. It must be a squirrels alarm call for nearby predators. I heard the same thing last year when I found a barred owl. Thanks for commenting, glad you enjoyed the video!
The thing about ducks is that they could act chill while on the water until they decide to take to the air and they can get from zero to 60 in a heartbeat. T one piece that I travel to from my house in the Hudson valley of New York State is Assateague National Seashore on the border of Maryland and Virginia on the eastern shores. You get a wide variety of birds and if you're lucky you can see the world famous wild horses of Assateague and Chinkatink island.
Sick shots, cant wait till we get some sunlight again in Finland, its dark around the clock here atm.. been wanting to get my hands on the 200-600 lately...
Thanks for commenting! I always use the focus tracking option, within tracking I use either a wide focus area or a smaller spot focus spot depending on the situation. (With animal/bird eye autofocus on). Here’s a link to an older video about my camera settings, I show my focus settings at 2:46, I hope it’s helpful! ua-cam.com/video/KzbFIPYbakE/v-deo.html&si=EGsVi_zy6iwn5etZ
I use a backpack shoulder mount. It’s on Amazon “TELESIN Backpack Mount” for about 20$ CAD. It does the trick, but it’s near impossible to get your footage to be level. I think a chest mount is next on my list of accessories, as it would hopefully keep the GoPro centre and level.
素晴らしいphotoですね。

Thank you! I certainly cherish every rare encounter I have with the Barred owl. I seem to run into one at least once a year. Have a nice day!

I think your red tailed hawk on day 6 may have been a juvenile Cooper’s hawk.
You know what… I never even thought of attempting to ID it as something else! Haha
I’m going to hop on Merlin ID and try to figure this one out!

Love your video...commentary and photos. As a biologist I share your excitement just looking for wildlife.
Thank you, it’s nice to hear my commentary is improving!
Been interested in photography for a while but you’ve convinced me to actually go out and do some haha
That’s awesome to hear!

Seeing wild horses must be an amazing experience! Sounds like a great place to be able to visit. Thank you for commenting!
Awesome video. Thanks
I'm glad you enjoyed!
Brilliant! Awesome challenge idea, I am actually going to do this myself! Also, that pilated woodpecker shot looked really good
Thank you! I was really happy with those Pileated woodpecker photos. Good luck with your adventures!

That sounds difficult to deal with, even the shorter days of daylight here start to take a toll later in the winter.
I have not watched your videos for a while, happy to come back
Glad to have you back, hope you enjoyed the video!
I really love your clicks sir ♥️
Thank you, much appreciated!
You lucky dog, im jealous :D
Haha thank you! It was nice getting out everyday even if I wasn’t feeling it. It clearly paid off!
I will do a similar challenge when i have some free days between christmas and new year :)@@CurtisSnapshot
Great video! It’s motivated me to go out too and shot in this grey november some photos!😊
Do you sharpen your photos with topaz or DxO?
Thanks for commenting, I'm glad you enjoyed the video! I almost always use DxO to denoise my high ISO images.
What focus settings are you using? I shoot sony as well and your seagull shots looked awesome!

@@CurtisSnapshot awesome thank you! I'll have to try the tracking options. I don't think my A7RIVhas a bird option unfortunately but I'll sort it out!
@@geetarplayer19 I don’t think it does either, that’s too bad. But hopefully some of my settings are still relevant for your camera.
@@CurtisSnapshot I recently switched from Olympus to Sony so I'm still figuring out the changes and kinks!
Did you use a gopro on a chest mount?
