There are some interesting things to see on Liberty Island like the museum with the original torch that opened a few years ago. I enjoyed Ellis Island which is also included in the ticket price. Some of my ancestors came through Ellis Island so I thought it was fascinating to try imagine what it was like for them when they immigrated from Scandinavia.
I have been to the Statue of Liberty several times, it was very impressive and I would gladly go again. I've been with crown tickets, with the pedestal tickets and with regular tickets.
if your goal is to just enjoy the view of the statue and not really walk around, just take the staten island ferry. its free, easy, and fairly fast (every 30min or 15min during rush hour) bonus if you go at night you will see a nice view of lower manhattan when leaving if you go to the outside area
Sarah I could get a good picture of the Statue Of Liberty from Brooklyn Bridge Park. Cool video. I might have seen that boat when it goes near Brooklyn Bridge Park.
Thank you SOOOO much for this huge tip! Classic Harbour lines was amazing. Small group (maybe 20 people), good music, cool boat, cheap drinks and a ridiculously awesome price per person! We looked at the huge ferry’s packing in tons of people and were relieved we chose this option. 😊
Around 1998, the statue of liberty tour came with a trip to Ellis Island. It was taking too long to climb steps of statue so I walked out and waited for my friends. It was nice to visit Ellis Island and find my grandfather info.
Of course she will recommend the cruise. She is getting paid to say that. For a first time visitor to NYC it is a must to visit Ellis island museum and read about the history and get to Liberty Island. Pedestal tickets are almost same price as general tickets. It’s worth it.
If you enjoy historical stuff, then I would 100% recommend visiting the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island for first time visitors. My Mother and I had a fun interaction with an actor portraying the man who designed the statue and the museums at both locations are worth seeing. I like to learn on my trips.
It’s totally worth getting the crown tickets to the Statue of Liberty. You can go as high as the crown on the head of the statue. Marvel at the copper indie of the statue and twist your body around the tiny spiral staircase going up. It’s worth doing it but book the crown tickets months ahead. It’s very difficult to get.
Staten Island ferry gives you amazing views for free. Always took great photos of the Statue of Liberty and New York skyline. Of course I wouldn’t go to NYC now.

I recommend going to the Statue of Liberty and buying the crown pass. It's really great ❤
Yep - Frog and I did just that on our recent visit. Beware - the steps are very tiny!

Just come back. Governors island was the best thing we did. Views, space, peace. 😊
I would love a boat ride and a cocktail 🍸
You passed by my mom’s office!
Do the circle line cruise that goes around the entire island.
Staten Island ferry gives you amazing views for free. Always took great photos of the Statue of Liberty and New York skyline. Of course I wouldn’t go to NYC now.
The Staten Island Ferry gives a good view of the statue and it is free.
The best view is free from the Staten Island ferry. It goes past the Statue of Liberty and best of all, it’s totally free ride.
Statue of Liberty is worth visiting. Looking up at Lady Liberty is incredible
Ohh yeah. YOU COULD NOT EVEN BUY A 5 INCH MINI STATUE OF LIBERTY ON THE STATUE OF LIBERTY SHOP!!! AND NOT VISIT
20 more days to go! Can't wait to leave the UK and all this rain ☔😂 I love NYC! ❤
